W00t, we just had an SMI (Saturday Morning Inspection) and my room only got docked for being dusty. It was blitzed to perfection, but you can still find dust if you want to. Under handles, all kindsa places. Still, pretty nice to know you only screwed up a little.

Damn, this is not gonna be a fun year. The Citadel is by far the most challenging thing I've ever done. Not gonna have a lot of time to spend on the boards or with my sims.

You missed the word 'best' I think, lol. Dusted off my SNES a while ago. I'd forgotten how totally awesome Chrono Trigger and Legend of Zelda are. My Playstation got some good use to, replayed some of the Final Fantasy games. Damn, playing outside ain't got nothing on this s**t, lol.

With my new Alienware, at 4x FSAA and 4x AA I can run FB on the excellent settings at a good 65 fps, on average. I can average 35 - 40 on perfect, but unfortunately I experience the shudders and occasional skips that used to plague Il-2 and FB. I can live with silky smooth excellent settings very easily. One thing I would definately recommend to any Radeon users. If you've upgraded to 3.6 Catalyst drivers, go ahead and redownload the 3.4's and extract the atioglxx.dl_ file to your FB directory. It adds at least 10 fps, seriously.

Well, I do agree that when we start to get totally hardcore flight simulations that have major air to ground action, it will definately play a part. But in order for us to see such earth shattering realism we're going to have to settle for longer development times.

With all this complaining going on about how long LO-MAC's been in the works, the delays on Il-2:FB patches, I just wanted to add my thought on the matter. I was in the Il-2 forums and saw a thread debating the trees in FB. How they deflected and blocked rounds and rockets. People were asking Oleg to fix it so certain rounds could pass through, and others would be detonated. SOmeone even suggested that during winter it'd be easier for bullets to pass through sicne the trees would be bare. When you start expecting a sm developer to calculate the deflection qualities of different seasons of trees, its no wonder that simulations like LO-MAC and FB take so very long to create and to patch. Hell, I'm amazed that they managed to get FB and it's complex flight and damage models to run on anything but a Cray. I mean, yeah, computers are getting more and more powerful, but it still takes comparably the same time for a programmer to work through the same complex algorithm. Just look at X-Plane as an example. Its been around for I don't know how long, say just ten years. With a single programmer who has worked full time on it. You can exactly chart the performance and complexity of the simulation. Just think of that the next time you complain about the delays on LO-MAC and FB. I definately had to step back and hold my tongue.

Until I see your name on a sim I purchase, Lexicon, I don't think you have the right to bitch.

Just got done testing it out for a sec. They definately got the perfect settings tweaked. I'm running a good 30 - 40 fps with em. Can't tell yet about anything else. I was a tad disappointed there wasn't even one addon aircraft released, but oh well.

Haha, too bad, I just got done submitting the news story. Didn't know I could do that before, or I would have.

MadJeff, you don't know what you're missing if you don't fly FB. I know, I used to fly WWII Fighters all the time, and I have all the upgrades and mods. FB has it beat. I will admit that the FW-190 pit is better in WWII Fighters though, lol. Snap, correction, you did not down me in the La-7. You flew into the ground, then while I was tooling around waiting for you to take off again the uber-AAA got me. That was some killer circling though, I didn't know the P-39 had it in her. That I-16 kill was good though. My fault trying to turn and burn an I-16 in a 109-K4. Tonight, 9 Central, I'll try and be there.

Unfortunately, I can't. Used to have one, long before the present management, and because I stopped making aircraft for X-Plane, it expired. The server won't let me create another.

They probably still work, it's just a lot more difficult to find the SAM's without the RWR.

lol, yeah, definately do want to be a flyboy. Naval ROTC scholarship. Just might be at the controls of an F/A-18 someday. I really gotta change my sig now, haha.
