  1. Hi everyone, i've been playing SF2 for years now on my GTX 1050Ti 16 GB RAM i7 8750H Win 10 gaming laptop at medium graphical settings, getting always very high framerate with basically no drops whatsoever. Now i've moved to a new high-end laptop with GTX 4060 32 GB RAM i7 13650HX Win 11 and i've finally set my graphical settings to unlimited. I get fps locked at 60 most of the times (it's locked at 60 by default, and i don't know why and how to change it, even if that's not a problem) (i remember it used to be unlocked on my previous laptop and i ranged from 50/60 up to 130 with medium settings), but sometimes it drops for an instant (it's shown in "lowest fps" when i turn on parameters) and some other times (like with smoke or very dense models like carriers and terrains like "Italy" or when i move quickly my sight) it drops and stays there until i look away and not too fast. I tried at high settings and the difference is i gain 5/6 fps more when a drop happens. This problem, even if not game breaking, it may sometimes be annoying and disturbing. I'm actually surprised this happens, since i tried MSFS 2020 and i get 50+ fps at ultra, 80+ fps at high and 120+ fps at medium. I finally tried to set my SF2 settings to low, and the lowest fps it goes is 50. Is it because my laptop is not powerful enough (sounds very unlikely to me but i may be wrong) to run SF2 at unlimited and high settings? Or is that SF2 shows its age with newer systems with high-end specs so that's why it tends to lag more than more modern and demanding games? Thanks for the help and suggestions
  2. Oh you meant converting textures and doing a modding work instead of just lowering graphical settings?
  3. Thanks for all the answers and those who helped. Looks like i gotta live with these random drops and use medium settings whenever i playi maps like "italy", for everything else i'll mostly play at 60 fps
  4. Hi, a couple of months ago i discovered this gorgeous total conversion called "Yankee Air Pirate", and that the "REVAMP" edition for SF2 (the original one was for WOV) existed, and other awesome total conversions like "Drug Wars" and "Flight School" too, so i got ready to download them, but since i hadn't enough space at the time, i waited. Now i come back on the website to find out all the links and pages about the revamp are gone, there's only the original ones for SF1 series. Do anyone of you know why they're gone? Will they come back? They're maybe updating the mods? Thanks
  5. when does it come out? and Drug War RW and Training School RW? where can i follow updates and dates?
  6. Fly as a Wingman

I needed a mod like this for so long!!! It's very well made and now the immersion is finally 100% Thanks so much for giving us the COMMDATA too, great idea including it in the package, i didn't have it. The only issue i find is when pressing 1-9 (ordering wingman to return to base) no comm is given and the wingman doesn't return to base, unless i fly in a group and give the order to the whole squadron, only then the wingman flies home. The only other way to make it return to base is to land first at the airfield/carrier, after that he will land too. But other than this, if you and your wingman are flying alone, you can't order him to return to base. I don't know if there's a way to fix this, is it? @madvad Anyway it's not that big of a deal, you can still order the entire squadron or land with him, so doesn't break the game.
  7. Oh boy i love the SF community so much! One of the best (if not the best) gaming community ever imo!
  8. Oh didn't know that, i thought it was the best Vietnam War mod you could get for SF2
  9. I wish other mods on their site were remade for SF2 and free too, but we still have Yankee Air Pirate (which sounds gorgeous and the most complete vietnam war mod for SF ever), Drug War (which gives a complete different and interesting view on a front we never would have expected to see in a flight simulator), and Flight School (which i can't wait to try and learn from it). If i got it correctly, there are no more founders for these mods, so that's why they are and should be free, they belong to the community now. And also if i understood correctly it was illegal to sell them? Or maybe a got this part wrong
  10. Not yet a member on FB, are the files there? I remember seeing them on their site under YAP-RW, DW-RW and FS-RW, but now i can't find them anywhere, and when i click on some RW link, i get error 404. Did they remove the RW versions from their site? Why is that?
  11. In my opinion it's a great mod and should be free, so that everyone can enjoy it and have fun, since these issues happened.
  12. Yeah i heard RW is gorgeous, can't wait to play it! They should have asked, all rights have to be respected
  13. Oh thanks, i didn't read that specific part. I only plan to play the RW mods, once they're available again
  14. I posted on that topic. Why Menrva said there's something wrong in YAP and others? They look amazing mods
  15. If i'm correct, the REVAMP for SF2 (YAP/DW/FS) are free. The only ones payware are for SF1. But i can't find the freewares anymore, i looked for them a month ago and i found them, now it says error 404
  16. Thanks, as soon as i can i'll ask on Facebook if no one says nothing here
  17. Very nice, i'll install and uninstall them whenever i want then. Yeah, i realized you can insta-mod just by saving the folders, this is amazing! Thank you very much
  18. Hi everyone, I'm trying to recreate the 1st Gulf of Sidra Incident with my F-14A Tomcats and my Su-22M3 Fitters, doing it extremely historically accurate, paying attention to every little detail. So far i've done everything, and it's almost identical to the real one, but there's ONE issue i can't figure out, let me explain: During the morning of the 19th of August 1981 two F-14A Tomcats intercepted two Libyan Su-22M3 Fitters in the Gulf of Sidra. The Fitters were equipped with two AA-2 "Atoll". Just before the merge, while nose-to-nose, one of the two Fitters fired a missile to one of the two Tomcats, but being the missile a very old and primitive heatseeker, it started tracked and going for the Tomcat, but as soon as the F-14 made a slight break, the Atoll lost its track. The PROBLEM IS: There's no way i can make the Fitters shoot the missiles before merging, if only the AA-2, or any other equippable missile was all-aspect or radar guided just like the R-23, i think it would work. I tried having a head-on merge with two Mig-23 Floggers equipped with radar guided R-23s and they shot at me before merging. I tried all other available missiles and nothing changed, some didn't show either. I tried copying and pasting the Data file from the Aim-7 to the R-60 Data file, and nothing changed. I tried changing the loadout file to R-23, but the Fitters show up without any weapon since there's no R-23 option in loadout for Su-23M3s, so i think it's not possible to have them (and would be historically inaccurate too). I tried changing enemy difficulty from Normal to Hard, but nothing changes still. The only thing the Fitters do is shooting their guns just before the merge, but no missiles are fired when nose-to-nose. Is there a way to fix this? A way i can make my Fitters fire at least one of their missiles when we're nose-to-nose, just like when i got nose-to-nose against Floggers equipped with R-23s? Is it a problem with the enemy AI? Or with the missiles? Or maybe even with the Su-22M3 Fitter i'm using? Thank you very much for helping me
  19. Without any order of installation, even after the July 2013 last patch for SF2 merge install right? Even if the CE is dated back as 2012? And WE and GE count as separated installations too right?
