I have seen supplied single missions in YAP-RW start you off on the ramp but as mentioned before these are highly customized SINGLE missions. It is a very effective technique to add a bit more realism to the mission but it's a real pain to do. I appreciate the mission designers taking the time and effort to do so. For campaign and generated single missions I guess we're stuck with "In the air, near target" and "On the ground, at home base".

Agreed. One of my favorite sims. I still run the GOG version. I will be very interested to see what they do with pricing and where it will be offered on sale. Steam would be a no-go for me.

Turbosquid is mentioned earlier in the thread. A search for "aircraft 3d model" turned up quite a number.

Well, that varies between easy and impossible. I guess we take it a model at a time. I will defer to the 3D gurus to post models that might be a good fit. If I think I can help with a purchase I will certainly raise my hand.

How much does a model cost? I am worthless as a 3D modeler but I might be able to help with model purchasing.

Yup. The last OS I was able to run SF1 on was Windows 7. Given the lack of support for SF2 I worry that a future release of Windows or DirectX is going to break THAT sim. (long story short I am keeping a Windows 10 instance around just for SF2. It does not have an internet connection except when necessary............) SF2 COMPLETE sounds expensive at $100 US but what you get and what you can add on will give you many, many hours of flying pleasure.

There are plenty of SF1 mods available for download. Most should work just fine in WOV. The modders do a good job of detailing what the prerequisites are for a given download. If it won't work in WOV, they will usually tell you. Make sure you read the "How to Download Files" topic on the main Download page. That all being said..................I agree with Flanker that, if you can afford it, SF2 FULL is the way to go. It will keep you busy for a long time even without any mods.

I do. Still runs great on Win10 on my Dell G5. I have trainload of add on aircraft for that bad boy. And I can play without an internet connection. Favorite stock aircraft is the Piper Cub. Favorite payware addon is the F/A-18 by a company I can't remember at the moment. Came with NASA and Blue Angels skins.

What install of SF2 are you running? I believe the A-10 comes in with either a FULL or SF2:Europe install. If you don't have either of those you may be missing the A-10 sound files. Ravenclaw does not specify what version of SF2 is required for the cockpits but I'll take a guess they were developed them under a FULL install. I may have all this wrong. Just speculating based on your issue and what I know of SF2 installs.
