Multiplayer Mission for DCS World A-10C + FC3 (optional) by Bahger. Uploaded with permission.
Two hours ago, a "black" SpecOps UH-60 ("BROKEN WING") crashed near the Russian border. A USMC combat engineer team, "ROADKILL", is en route to recover the helo but intel sources now indicate that the Russians are preparing to mount a raid across the border to steal the bird's classified avionics. ROADKILL has been re-tasked to push to the crash site at maximum speed and to use explosives to destroy the Blackhawk before the Russians get to it. Your task is to protect ROADKILL and to respond to the Russian incursion with decisive force.
Briefing:
i. SITUATION:
Enemy forces:
Likely enemy disposition:
Ground:
A task force consisting of a platoon-sized armored recon element and a reinforced platoon-sized assault force.
Both enemy armor formations will deploy with attached mobile Shilka (SA-9) air defense units.
Air (CAP):
2x MiG-23MLD "Floggers".
Friendly forces:
ROADKILL is a combat engineer team consisting of 4x LAV-25s and 2x HMMWVs with attached support from 2x Stryker ATGMs.
CAP:
2x F-15Cs"UZI" are about to push from Senaki-Kolkhi to fly CAP.
CAS/Strike:
2x A-10Cs ("SPRINGFIELD") are about to push from Sukhumi-Babushara to provide CAS to ROADKILL, to help secure the crash site and to interdict all enemy units meaneuvering south of the border.
2x A-10Cs (DODGE) are holding south of the AO and can be deployed as a striker flight.
AWACS:
OVERLORD is on station and transmitting on 255 VHF FM.
SEAD:
No dedicated SEAD/DEAD is available at this time. A-10C flights must perform SEAD/DEAD against local air defenses attached to enemy armor.
ii. MANEUVER
- Enemy:
Recon:
We believe that the Russian Recon formation will push south-east through the town of LESELIDZE in order to form a bridgehead at the east end of the town to screen/block ROADKILL's only access point to the crash site from the south.
Assault:
The enemy Assault group will either reinforce the recon units in LESELIDZE or will divert to the east after crossing REDBRIDGE, approaching the crash site from high ground to the north-east, working with the recon group in Leselidze to attempt a "pincer" maneuver against the objective.
Air:
The AO will *not* be a permissive environment for Blue CAS as long as a threat exists from the MiG-23 CAP and from SA-9 units embedded with Red ground forces.
- Friendly:
CAP:
Blue F-15s will deploy to intercept Red CAP south of the border and to secure the AO for safe operation of CAS in zone. UZI will fly CAP in zone until the crash site has been secured and the UH-60 destroyed.
CAS:
Both CAS flights have flightplan holds and should hold or push at the discretion of flight leads according to their assessment of remaining threats from the Red CAP.
OVERLORD will provide SITREPs to update CAS flights re. UZI's arrival in the AO and elimination of the enemy CAP threat ("GRAND SLAM")
Operational references:
The following Mission Steerpoints are available to all CAS flights:
BLUEBRIDGE: This bridge is ROADKILL's only possible approach point to the crash site from the south/east and is therefore a chokepoint.
REDBRIDGE: This bridge is the likely border crossing point for enemy ground forces and is therefore a chokepoint.
LESELIDZE COASTAL ROAD: This steerpoint marks the coastal road likely to be taken by enemy ground forces approaching BLUEBRIDGE.
BROKEN WING: This steerpoint marks the exact location of the crashed helo.
Comms:
All elements will use 255 VHF FM for tactical comms.
ROE:
All Russian military vehicles and personnel south of the border will be violating Georgian territorial sovreignty. Allied units are authorised to attack any such unit, pre-emptively if necessary.
iii. Victory Conditions:
All victory conditions will be calculated when ROADKILL has remounted and extracted from BROKEN WING across BLUEBRIDGE, so CAS flights should take care to cover this movement to prevent any further attacks on the group by remaining enemy units.
Players will be notified of their level of success in this mission when ROADKILL's extraction is complete, as follows:
Blue TOTAL VICTORY
Blue will win a Total Victory when:
- The downed helo is destroyed and ROADKILL has sustained no casualties.
Blue VICTORY:
Blue will win a Victory when:
- The downed helo is destroyed and ROADKILL has sustained less than 25% casualties.
Blue DEFEAT:
Blue will lose the mission when:
- The downed helo is destroyed and ROADKILL has sustained more than 50% casualties.
OR
- ROADKILL has been wiped out.
IV. Mission Editor's notes:
This mission is flyable in one of three roles, assuming the player has DCS World with both FC3 and A-10C modules installed. Two of these roles will spawn as AI flights with identical tasking if the player does not choose to fly them
himself:
F-15C CAP and A-10C CAS.
The following secondary flight is also available to the player:
A-10C Strike ("Dodge")
This flight is equipped for an LGB stand-off strike to destroy REDBRIDGE if the situation allows. If this flight is chosen, the primary AI CAS and CAP flights will still spawn. There is no AI substitution for this flight if it is not chosen by the player.
If the player wishes to see the mission play out with both CAS and CAP roles taken by AI, or to "pinch hit" in an undefined role, he should choose to fly as the A-10C squadron c/o ("Ford"), a two-ship on alert at Kobuleti.

zzzspace v2.0 REAL SOUND for DCS World

This is a complete stand-alone soundpack and a comprehensive sound modification which provides sound within all DCS World modules - including DCS FC3. (187mb)
It installs via the ModMan v7.3 utility, as modified for use within DCS World by Tom Weiss, which is available from LockOnFiles (links are below).
DESCRIPTION:
In short; if you have seen videos of jets flying through Mach Loop in the UK, that is basically what this high sonic realism sound modification sounds like.
There are few areas that were not reviewed and altered within this new version. I've changed or improved many sounds within this new version and greatly developed the sound imaging quality. These have collectively enabled a more compelling sound environment to be constructed. Areas previously not worked on much have been within v2.0. All helicopters have been bought up to the standards of the jets, with more realistic approaches, flybys and loitering. Armour and vehicle sounds have all been replaced, and re-configured. All weapons, explosions and damage sounds have likewise been reviewed, with numerous improvements, resulting in a much improved and extended ground-battle environment. Given this sim will increasingly become fastjet dominated the cockpits have all been reviewed for both A-10C and FC3 fast jets plus associated external mechanical control sounds reset accordingly for optimising to various flight modes.
What I'm doing within this sound mod has never been achieved prior. It's the first example of where it's possible to comprehensively depict a real exterior jet sound with 100% pitch accuracy within samples, plus realistic audio fidelity with distance and aspect changes. The result is a very realistic and compelling modification that is no gimmick. What you hear in this mod is the real thing--real jet sound--in playback. I developed the means for a sound engine like DCS World to portray real jet sound with almost complete accuracy, in most situations. This has not been heard by anyone from a combat jet flight sim prior to this sound modification doing it.
I developed the theory and base equations behind how this approach could be made to work during 2000 and 2001. But DCS World was the first sim sound-engine where I suspected it might contain the necessary acoustic model accuracy and modding accessibility needed to finally try to make this work accurately. After some testing it became clear the technique would indeed work in DCS World and would accurately correct for vector changes to Doppler shift, which normally distorts real jet sounds. In this sound pack for the first time they're not being distorted in pitch at all. They utilise the pitch within the real sound files exactly and accurately.
The practical result for the sound that the jets make within the sim is that it creates unprecedented and outstanding sound depictions that are almost too good to be true. So the tedious work of enabling and developing the approach and establishing that it does work has been done. The result is a dramatically improved audio simulation, that now has unlimited and unprecedented realism potential from here.
It's been my long-term goal to eventually get to this level of jet-fighter audio simulated realism, so it's gratifying to have finally gotten there.
A thankyou to Keshman for donation of sounds I've integrated to greatly improve this version's ground-battle detail and especially battle ambience effects.
INSTALLING:
Install to DCS World using SkyPat's "ModMan" utility's normal ModMan installation procedure.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
(1) Install ModMan v7.3 then extract and copy the patch's files into this folder:
C:\ModMan
(2) Place the soundpack's zip file called:
"zzzspace v2.0 REAL SOUND for DCS World.zip"
Into the folder named:
C:\ModMan\addons_DCS World\
(3) Open ModMan then go into the "Mods Installer" window and select and install this mod's zip file.
(4) Exit ModMan
--> go to DCS World's main screen
--> go to Options
--> go to Audio Tab
Ensure the audio sliders are all set to their maximums (fully to the right). Although you may set the 'Music' slider and GUI slider to any preferred setting.

DESCRIPTION:
Version 1.2 is a large 'update' for the original mod, "zzzspace REAL SOUND v1.0 for DCS World.zip".
This mod is for "DCS World" and provides sound support for the following DCS World modules;
- DCS A-10C
- DCS BLack Shark 2.0
- DSC Combined Arms (in BETA testing)
It does not provide any specific support for the P-51 Mustang (BETA) module. People using the P-51 module will need to use the originally supplied sound files.
MULTIPLAYER:
This update maintains compatibility for online coop multiplay games but some servers may object to non-standard .sdef files on mp client computers. There is no way around this, as realistic sound editing requires massive alterations to almost every standard DCS World *.sdef file.
If server admins wish they may use these latest .sdefs to verify sdef contents on their mp client's machines, if thw admin or squad wish to require all sever users to have the REAL SOUND mod installed.
OTHER SIMS:
This mod is not available for other of ED's sims, however it has been reported by a user that REAL SOUND MOD v1.0 and v1.1 did work when installed into DCS A-10C v1.1.1.1, but it was not designed for that version of the sim.

This is a sound-realism modification for Eagle Dynamics "DCS World" that radically revises the sounds and playback configuration within this simulation. It provides users of the sim the most advanced and real-sound sound modification currently available for any PC-based Jet fighter based tactical combat simulation. External and internal sound environments have been carefully detailed and tuned to provide a level of immersion previously unattainable in a modern combat flight simulation.
ONLINE PLAY COMPATIBILITY
The mod was tested online with zero incompatibility or conflicts reported.
Note that I removed the audio within the 'Betty' files, 'ShootShoot', 'WarningWarning' and 'LaunchAuthorised'.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DOWNLOADED ZIP FILE
(1) Copy and backup the entire folder;
C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds
And all of its subfolders and contents to known backup location.
This is your 'uninstall' backup insurance policy - KEEP IT.
(2) Unzip the downloaded ZIP file in an empty folder using any preferred unzip program.

All intensive test where made with HDR "Normal" and 1920x1080 16:9

Keep in mind that it the HDR effect highly depends of your used FOV (Zoom) and how dark the actual scene is.
Higher the FOV in the external views to take screen-shots with full sun.

I changed Shift Key Modifier to Application key (located between the right Windows and Ctrl keys on most keyboards) so you can activate/deactivate the mod in game with App+F12 since Shift+F12 is a stock FC2 command
