    2. Okinawa/Japan - Version 3 (WW2)


      Okinawa Terrain Upgrade, Version 3.0



      For SF/SFG/WoV/WoE WW2 PTO modded installs, 06 Patch Levels


       
      This mod is a extensive rebuild to Edward's WW2 Okinawa terrain, and is designed to COMPLETELY replace any and all eariler versions. This is the COMPLETE terrain, with all tiles, TODs, inis and terrain objects necessary to (almost) just unzip and fly over. YOU, the End User ™ are still responsible to locate the various and sundry Ground Objects and Aircraft needed for you PTO flying pleasure. I've supplied MANY, but more are not included. This map has been re-designed with Operation Olympic in mind, hence the island of Okinawa itself should be consided "nearly" secured; ie American and Allied forces have pretty much taken the island, and are building up for the Invasion of Japan. The time frame I have in mind in Mid-1945 to approx late 1947, or even into 1948 if needed. To that end, expect a Runway 4 (large airfield, albeit -NOT- historically correct) at Kadena for Bomber Operations, and several smaller auxillary fields to 'activate' themselves based on the year flown (ie: 1946).
       
      Many completely NEW target areas have been added, and the map has been extensively retiled to create a more Japanese looking environment. This retiling 'resets' several cities, adds some rivers, creates clear zones around the various airfields, and corrects some other issues. The targets ini itself has been almost complety rebuilt, adding LOTS of interesting things to look at and blow up. TODs and tgas from "Green Hell" and another terrain project have been used to create forests and such, and several brand new custom TODs and and several new tiles have been created. These are based off the stock VietnamSEA tiling, so these new TODs are usable in ANY map that uses the WoV VietnamSEA tiles, or can easily be imported for any other terrain type.
       
      This is a very 'target rich' environment -- there are plenty of items for strike and anti-shipping missions. It is also HEAVILY defended - so watch out for the flak. As expected, I added the 'Rising Sun' Japanese flag, and the Stars and Stripes. Several 'new' parked aircraft have been added; you'll see them if you look for them. There are also other bits of 'eye candy' floating around... :) I've included several updated data inis for some ships, as they now have semi-proper effects (IJN DDs now have smoke coming out the stacks)
       
      You MUST have ALL the Pacific Objects (ground units, ships, AAA, infantry, etc) already installed in you PTO version of the game; otherwise things won't be appearing. This is especially important for the ships. See below in the "To Install" for more information. Don't forget to check Geo's page for more WW2 goodies ... there's a lot of stuff that's usable (and used!) here as well.

      It has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE, using their cats pointed to in the main ini. As most of the new objects will be residing directly in the terrain folder, you should have no problems. (see the CombatAce Knowledge Base for the tutorial on using the cat pointer line). It has NOT, however, been tested in post 08 patch WoI or post 08 patch SF/SFG/WoV/WoE; nor has it been tested in the SF2 Series - it is NOT designed for useage in those type of game installs. If you choose to do so, expect NO support from me -- you're on your own. However, it IS usable ... it's just 98.6% ™ of the aircraft are NOT!
       
      As always, it's reccomended that you unzip this package to a temp folder or your desktop to gain access to the rest of this readme.
      Follow these instructions herein =EXACTLY= and you should have no problems. It's =HIGHLY= reccomended you read this document completly through before installing this mod. In other words -- read this damn thing, or you'll get yourself in a jam!!!!

    3. CloudScape v2

      This has been successfully tested in WoV, WoE, WoI and also limited testing in the SFP2 sims (thanks to silverbolt). Framerates were minimally affected by this mod during testing.
       
      Since clouds vary widely in their appearance from day to day, it seems to me that the WoX games should have a greater variety in the appearance of their clouds. I notice the clouds a lot and after a while I begin to see too much repetition in the cloud patterns. So I frequently wish for more variety.
       
      As it turns out, you "can" have greater variation. It is possible to use as many as four different clouds in a single installation - one each for scattered, broken, overcast, and inclement clouds. I have capitalized on this to create a wider array of cloud images. In this mod, I have created two sets of four clouds. Each set of four comprises a single install.

    4. EuroWW2(spring)_full_tileset_updated

      Well, here is the EuroWW2_spring tilest, full version, updated.
       
      That has changed?
       
      -The forest line has been corrected. Now, all the trees are into
      the forest.
      -The fields around the road have been reworked to not looks it is
      cut in pieces.
      -The sea port & road tiles have been replaced by other ones,
      more appropriate.
      -The transition beetwen city & farm has been smoothed, & i have
      replaced the city textures because the straight lines looks like
      more appropriate with the buildings.
      -If you like previous tiles, there is a copy of them in "Alt-tiles"
      folder.

      I. Short description:
       
      With this mod a Squadron will need less then 1 minute to take off, instead the long time in stock game. It is a mass take off to bring as many planes as possible into the air in the shortest possible time.
      I used it first in my Baltic Entrance terrain and made it now working with all other terrains of First Generation which use stock airfield files.

    7. Test Range

      SF1 Bombing Range with some new skins and features.
       
       
      This may copy over your original Bombing Range so please backup your files.
       
       
      The Bombing Range is one of the best place to hone your Air to Ground skills, with open desert ranges for no speed limit restrictions. Firstly I tried to merge the tiles from the Nellis range to match up with this terrain but it turned out looking like a patchwork blanket so I used JSF_Aggie's desert tiles. The only new tiles are the Desert Residential areas for a more realistic look. US flag is a nice touch to the Test Pilot School, also the Strafe Targets have been moved to the south of the weapons test area.

    8. Zmatt's Tweaked HDR mod for SFP1 and SF2

      First off, I didn't create any of this stuff. The enbseries mod is a DirectX 9 .dll mod made by Vorontsov Boris for use in any number of games. All credit goes to him for this. You can find more information at his website here:

      **********Overview**********
       
      This is an upload with my personal enseries.ini file. It is all of the tweaks that I have made to get what I think is the best combination of performance and eye candy. If you need any help installing or tweaking the file beyond what is included in this humble readme then I recommend going here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=43231
       
      All needed files are included in this .zip. You don't need to download anything else to get pretty HDR goodness.
       
      **********Installation**********
       
       
      For Sfp1 and derivatives:
       
      Drop the d3d9.dll in the root directory of your installation.
      For WoE that would be C:\Program Files\Wings Over Europe\
       
      Now drop the enbseries.ini inside your flight folder.
       
      Start the game and enjoy!
       
       
      For SF2 and derivatives:
       
      The file structure for SF2 has been changed a lot and requires you to place the files in an alternative location
       
      For Windows Vista and Windows 7:
       
      Take both files and drop them in Users/xxyournamexxx/Saved Games/Thirdwire/SF2x/Flight folder
      Where "yourname" is the name of your user account

      d3d9.dll goes in the root directory. enbseries.ini in the flight folder under the mods folder.
       
      **********Use**********
       
      The key combo SHIFT+F12 toggles the mod on and off.
       
      **********Tweaking**********
       
      If you want to mess with the .ini yourself then here is a good place to start.The [EFFECT] section lists the different effects that enbseries is capable of. A value of 0 disable the function and a Value of 1 enables it. As shipped in this mod it looks like this:

      EnableOcclusion=0
      EnableReflection=1
      EnableMotionBlur=0
      EnableWater=0
      EnableShadow=1
      DepthBias=0
      EnableDepthOfField=0
       
      Taken from the enbseries site:
       
      "EnableBloom=(0,1) enables bloom effect, blurring bright screen areas and adding result back to screen, simulating illumination of some objects. It works very fast on modern hardware, but wrong setting or bad drivers will result in overbrighting or some other artifacts. Not uses HDR textures and that's why hardware compatibility is high.
       
      EnableOcclusion=(0,1) enables screen space ambient occlusions (ssao) and screen space indirect lighting (ssil), this makes shadows and lighting between nearest objects. This effect uses by few modern games, mostly on next-gen game consoles, so it's very slow. Performance directly depends from display resolution, number of pixels drawn on screen, so to run this at HD resolutions you need modern videocard from high price category. It's require support of shaders 3_0, but even if you have it, it's not guarantee fast performance. If too slow for you, reduce display resolution and quality of this effect, even disable it. Hardware compatibility is limited, different drivers and videocards have problems and limited features that result in artifacts. For example antialiasing (multisampling) for HDR textures supported only by DirectX10 compatible videocards and enabled antialiasing in game or in video drivers panel will produce strange artifacts.
       
      EnableReflection=(0,1) reflection of vehicles. Developed for GTA San Andreasm GTA 3, GTA Vice City, but in some games also works, of course not for cars. Performance highly depends from multiple quality setting of this effect and number of objects drawn. More reflective objects on screen, slower speed. Real time 3d rendering works faster when number of objects is low, but their vertex number is high, for example 10 objects with 10 millions of vertices every will draw about the same speed as 3000 objects with 3 vertices each, for reflection on shaders may be used multiple drawing of the same object. In this case performance highly depends from CPU and system memory speed. Per pixel lighting in newest versions of ENBSeries may be faster for some videocards. About bug solving see another section of this documentation.
       
      EnableMotionBlur=(0,1) blurring image in fast motion of camera. On modern videocard not too much decrease speed, but costly. Current version of this effect have many problems, not working in most games, wrong, affect HUD, later will be changed. On some videocards do not work correctly, if you have some problems, try to disable.
       
      EnableWater=(0,1) enable water effects, developed for GTA San Andreas only, but may appear in some other game, not for water surface. Depending from it's presets may affect speed very much, by itself it's fast, but for deepness factor it need scene depth information. Good way to compencate losts for depth is to use scene depth for other effects in parallel (shadows, ssao, dof). Modified water textures or water material (object) setting may produce unpredictable results.
       
      EnableShadow=(0,1) enable shadow effects, their blurring and color changing. This is not truly soft shadows, because soft shadows have blurring range dependency from distance between shadow caster and shadow receiver objects. Speed depends from quality setting, it use scene depth information for some setting, so performance varies. This effect may work in some other games that use stencil shadows.
       
      DepthBias=(0..1000) shifts objects when drawing scene depth, offset relative to camera viewpoint. For some videocards and drivers, combination of ENBSeries presets, may need to remove flickering and hiding artefacts of ambient occlusions. Try to set 100 if something wrong happens. This parameter not affect speed.
       
      EnableDepthOfField=(0,1) enable eye focusing effect. This effect affect performance a lot, because it need scene depth information. Whe used together with other effects that also require scene depth, performance is not too much affected."
       
       
       
      Motion blur, depth of field and occlusion have odd side effects with the SF1 engine. Water is useless as it is meant for GTA only.

    9. WoI IsraelME Targets Enhancement Pak

      IsrealME Terrain Upgrade for WoI
       
      This is an expansion of WoI's stock "lsrealME" map, with the addition of Isreali Air Defense units. I've added them in what I believe to be a sensible, logical manner, defending large cities, airbase, factories & POL depots, army bases, and generaly trying to give the civilian population some kind of protection. I've also made sure the Isreali airfields have a "ActiveYear=0" for all their AAA positions; as the game will usually fill them with the nearly useless M-55 Quad 50. Adding other AA units is reccomended :yes::) See next paragraph....
       
      It is reccomended (read: REQUIRED) that you have Pasko's SAMs and Vehicles Pak installed in your GroundObject folder; expecially the Desert skinned vehicles, plus any additional vehicles such as Kesselbrut's ZIL truck pak, Moonjumper's fix for the BM-14-16 (adds working Kytusha rockets) and any other SAMS or AAA, vehicles or whatever strikes your fancy. See "Items You'll Want to Get" below. I've also included several things from it, just because I like having these objects around in-game, as some a set to be used on the map (parked vehicles and such). There is even a new vehicle, the Tiran 4/5 MBT!
       
      It is designed to use either the Bunyap or Mirage Factory Weapons Pak; some of the names for the IDF air defenses (ie: the HAWKs and their associated radars) and their 'arrangements', are taken from Nick Bell's 'NATO Air Defense Mod'; these are the names used for the 2 HAWK radars. In addition, I've included 2 new Infantry units - one generic Arab and one IDF, based off Kesselbrut's 'Infanty Squads'. I've replaced the RPG/LAW with an automatic rifle. I've also given you my fully updated gundata.ini and gundata.dat files, which have all the needed guns. I've also included the weapons data for the AT-3 'Sagger" anti-tank missile, so you'll be using the weapons editor -- make double damn sure it's the WoI one!!!
       
      Remember - this is for WoI ONLY!!! It won't work on anything else!! So don't even think about tryin' it!!!
       
      You all know the drill....I spent a good deal of time writing a real nice, informative, descriptive, step-by-step readme to aid in installing the package.....so read the cursed thing!!!!!! You know what they say....a man can get lost in that desert for 40 years...and no one would ever find him....

    11. Kashmir terrain

      Kashmir terrain is made for WOE.
      =========================
       
      This terrain is made as part of the tutorial "My way to create a terrain" which you can find in the Knowledge Base of Combatace Forum.
      This terrain is full operational, but not finished. If someone want to use it as basic for making a full developed India vs Pakistan terrain, so feel free to use this terrain.
      As i have promised you will find 3 airbases and 3 industrial target areas for each side. I have installed one shipping line, 2 truck convoi routes and 2 panzer battle routes.
      I put in the Texturelist and the Citieslist, so that you has all neccessary files for further work with the Terrain editor.

    12. DRVv15to151update

      DRV terrain version 1.5 had two minor bugs. One is a tree which is places middle in the water near the rivermouthes and the second bug is that in Da Nang area some tiles are missing. Version 1.51 corrected the bugs. If you already have DRV version 1.5 you can update it to version 151 with this file.

    14. Battle of Britain terrain v1.1

      Some work i have invest into BoB terrain. There are now more terrain tiles. A railway network is now visible on the map and during flight. You will find railwaystations in London and some other towns in England. Trains have to come. Perhaps one guru can make such nice moving trains like in EAW. This is far beyond my abilities.
      In BoB terrain v1.1 i have included some objects Polak sent me. This are barrage ballons which you will find on the map to protect the british industry and port facilities. And some famous London buildings. (Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace etc.)
      For London i made tiles for the Regents Park, the Hydepark, and St James Park, so that the area around House of Parliament now looks from air a little bit more like City of London.
      As suggestet i used also the terrain buildings file from EuroWW2 terrain which i modified a little bit, to get some of the red brickstone houses which i saw during a holiday visit in London some years ago.
      Finaly i included the darker Sea and grey town tiles made by Charles.

      AFGHANISTAN Terrain IS MADE FOR WINGS OVER ISRAEL (WOI) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      This package is a work in progress preview. It should allow you a short view into this project. It is far away to be finished. Also, dont worry if you find bugs.

      From December 1979 till now Afghanistan is a land in war. Soviets, Dushmans, Mudjahedin, Warlords, Taliban and Americans (OEF) destroyed the once florish land nearly completly.
       
      -At the moment i have only 2 airbases operational as skeleton airfields. They still have to be finished.
      -The terrain is only made between Bagram and Jalalabad. There you will find Taliban pockets of resistance.
      - Missions which can be flown are CAS, Armed Recon, Recon, Strike,SEAD
      -Air to air missions are impossible, because no taliban airfield is set (as historical correct)
       
      -I recommend a seperate installation of WOI for Afghanistan terrain. The new nations.ini would otherwise make trouble with other terrains. (I set all nations = friendly, only Afghanistan= Enemy
      So you can fly for the Soviets and the OEF troops( USA,UK,NL etc) against the same Enemy)
      You can delete not needed planes (for instance Mirages) and groundobjects (SAM, Radar,most tanks etc) and you can include needed planes, like the Mi-24 or the A-10 more easily.

      This is a weather and 3D-cloud replacement for SFP4 and WOV
       
      My intention was to use 3D-clouds only. Horizonclouds on scattered and broken are removed. The coverage of the 3D-clouds span now almost to the horizon. Added 3D-clouds also to overcast. Inclement has denser 3D-clouds now, but slightly encreased view-distance. Lots of other changes as well (haze, sky, fog etc.). I did as I like it, so it is very much a matter of taste...............

      These are actually the VietnamSEA .TOD files created by Deuces for Wings over Vietnam. At his suggestion, I've renamed them as per the WoE GermanyCE naming convention, and have been using them in WoE with no apparent issues.
       

       
      To install: Simply extract the enclosed GermanyCE folder into your Wings over Europe/Terrain folder and accept when asked (or warned) if you wish to overwrite the existing files in that folder (which it actually won't).

      It is a fictional campaign based on the idea, what could had been happen if the revolution in Hungary 1956 would have found a replica in East Germany.
      To fly this campaign you need following additional planes:
      * F-86F
      * F-84F
      * F-84G
      * MiG-15bis
       
      used standard planes are MiG-17F,B-57 and IL-28
       
      You can fly the F-86F for the Bundesluftwaffe or the MiG-15bis for the LSK/LV.

    19. Afghanistan Terrain New Targets v1.5

      This is a modification (that was okay'd by Gepard) that adds more targets to his version 1.0 of the Afghanistan map. Right now it is technically a "beta" but it adds a few more targets, CAS areas to the map. Along the days I'll add more here and there, but is considered to be a seperate mod to his terrain.

      Simply extract and put it in the Afghanistan terrain folder, and allow overwrite.

      1.5 Notes:
       
      - With thanks to Gepard, Bagram has been upgraded to a LARGE airbase, allowing B-1s, B-52s or other bombers to take off. Remember that to takeoff without crashing, take off from the eastern side of the runway.
      - Modern CAS designations. If you want to use more historic designations, scroll to the bottom of the _targets file and name away.
      - More targets in more places, be prepared to fly to the interior. Most of the targets are still on the "ring" but a few inside.

    20. Planning map to WOE,,, towns!

      Hello all. This is my first atempt to help this noble Third Wires game-series. I succeed to make planning-map to WOE at last. My map sure gives lot of new information from Germany Towns and moving front of Battlefields. That Map is relatively accurate too.

    21. WW2 Allied Bombing Range

      WW2 Allied Bombing Range for SF, WoV & WoE
       
      This is a modification of several inis, and adding objects to give The Range a World War 2 flavor, for the Allies.
      This modificaton has been thoughly tested in SF and WoE, but not WoV. You shouldn't have any problems though, by making sure you 'cat file' pointer is pointed to the correct terrain cat. (see the Knowledge Base here at CA, or the newest Range readmes)
       
      Many of these WW2 items have been borrowed from other maps, most specificlly Edwards superb PTO and EuroWW2. Others were scattered about, like the train station and factory place.
      I'd like to express thanks to the Map Builders for their tireless work, hope I mentioned everyone ... I can fully understand the frustrations in placing objects now, after working on this and several other maps.
       
      You'll need the original Range installed to make this mod to, as the terrain iteself is not changed. This is an object and ini mod, not a full terrain. You'll also have a NEW movements ini; now you can perform Armed Recon missions.
       
      PLEASE read the enclosed readme for full, detailed instructions as to how to install. Although this mod can be used in any install, it is designed with WW2 =ONLY= in mind. Most of these mods, however, can easily be added to any other Range terrain (specifically, the movements ini and the new target areas).
       
      Now, no excuses... get out ther and practice!!

    22. Battle of Britain terrain update v.1.3 to v1.4

      Battle of Britain terrain
       
      contains the area of South England, the English Canal, the Canal Islands
       
      and North France. It is the area where the famous Battle of Britain was
       
      fought in 1940.
       
      This file update your already existing Battle of Britain terrain version 1.3
       
      to the new standard 1.4
      Simply extract into your Strike Fighters folder.
       
      New is:
       
      -some updated terrain tiles
      -modified France, now including the Seine river and Cities along this
       
      river
      -65 new target areas mainly in France (airfields, factories etc)
      -Convoys (made by Baltika for his BoB campaign)
      -changed look of german fighter bases (Fliegerhorst)
       
      I tested the terrain as intensive as i could and found no bugs. If you find
       
      bugs, then please contact me via PM at SIMHQ Forum are at
       
      COMBATACE Forum.

    24. Libya Upgrade, Targets Hot-Fix

      Targets Fix for Libya Map ver.2.0
       
      This little fix will remove Gamal Abel Nassar AB from the targets ini, as it's been reported that it was too close to "The Wall", that 80km limit on the map edge. It's been replaced by a 'Military District HQ' at Benghazi (ie: another vehicle depot).
       
      Included are 3 new versions of the planning maps, with GAN AB removed. NO OTHER CHANGES HAVE BEEN EFFECTED!!!! All other inis remain fully functional.
      This package ONLY includes a new targets, cities ini, and the 3 maps.
       
      See enclosed readme for super-easy install instructions (for a change!!!)

    25. WOI mountain color mod

      This terrain mod for Wings Over Israel changes the color of the mountains so they are not such a reddish hue. The WOI terrain is otherwise excellent, but the mountain color just seemed a bit off to me.
