    1. War for the Waters 63-67 VERSION 1.1

      *Version 1.1*
This update lowers the intensity level from Version 1.0. Only enemy squadrons located nearest the border will be assigned missions. Supply has also been reduced for friendly and enemy squadrons. As a result, fewer enemy aircraft should appear in the air, better reflecting the limited nature of the historical conflict. Make no mistake, occasionally the campaign engine will generate large aerial engagements; this is historical, as well.

      *The Campaign*
This campaign depicts intermittent border clashes that flared between Israel, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt from 1963 through 1967. These disputes began with disagreements over water rights in the region, slowly escalating into the Six Day War. Based on the stock WOI Six Day War campaign, “War for the Water” begins in August 1963 and ends in May 1967.

Think of this campaign as a short prelude to the Six Day War. There will be no all-out air offensive; “War for the Water” is a limited conflict. You will face Syrian and Jordanian aircraft in and around the Golan Heights. There might be encounters with Egyptian aircraft near the Sinai Peninsula, as well. Ground offensive has been disabled, so borders remain static. Supply is minimal, restricting the number of aircraft in the sky.

Mission mix includes routine patrols punctuated by occasional armed recon missions into enemy territory. You may fly a maximum of twelve missions, roughly one every hundred and twenty days. Played in sequence with the stock WOI campaigns, and combined with “Attrition War” and “Golan Stalemate,” the player can begin in 1963 and fly a continuous nineteen-year IAF career.

*Unit start guide and upgrade path*
-- 101 Squadron (1963): Mirage III C Shahak (no upgrade)
-- 117 Squadron (1963): Mirage III C Shahak (no upgrade)

    5. Linebacker III (Beta)

Thanks for downloading my Linebacker III campaign. This is pretty much the finished version. I'm only calling this a Beta simply because it hasn't been extensively tested.

This is a completely fictional campaign senario created to allow folks to fly some of the 80's/90's era aircraft in a campiagn situation. It's set up to be fun, and not an accurate representation of what would have happened had there been a conflict in Vietnam in the 90's. The squadron names/numbers are just what was there from the Linebacker II campaign I used as a template, so many of them may be incorrect for the type of aircraft used. Also, I didn't really spend any time on which skins to use, so most the default skin for most squadrons will be whatever the default skin for the aircraft is.

I would recommend a dedicated install for this campaign to prevent corrupting something, but it doesn't need it. See the installation instructions for more details. They aren't required downloads or listed in the install instructions, but I would also highly recommend the "Green Hell" mod for the terrain and the "wide sky" mod as well to get the most fun out of this campaign.

      Included in the zip file:
      -Vietnam Targets.ini, movement.ini and types.ini
      -LBIII campaign folder
      -F-16C and F-18C
      -TER_CBU weapon rack
      -Menu Screen
      -Ground Object updates

All the required downloads are availabe at Combat Ace. However, if you can't find something here, try Column5.us. Required Downloads:
      -Bunyaps Weps Pack
      -LAU-88_AGM_65D by KingAlbert
      -Infantry Pack by Kesselbrut
-US Armor Pack (labeled 'US 70's to Now Pack' in downloads)
      -BMP-1 by Rebel Ryder
-F-15C (recommend the MSIP F-15C/D for an updated HUD)
-F-111F from F-111 Package (look in the readme for where do get the cockpit)
      -AV-8B+
      -A-6E_TRAM
-A-7E_Late_MF (from the MF A-7E pack)
      -F-14A
-F-16A_BLK10_NDC (only pilot and fx are needed for F-16C_BLK40)
      -Tornado GR1 from Tornado Pack
      -LHA-1 USS Tarawa
      -Soviet Artillery Pack
      -SU-27 (marcfighters.combatace.com)
      -Mig-29C

      Installation:
      1. Recommended: Start with a clean, patched copy of WOE and Add entire VietnamSEA terrain folder from WOV.

      or

If you don't want a separate install for the campaign, you can just follow the rest of the steps and add everything to your existing WOE (w/WOV terrain) or WOE/WOV Merged install. Most of the files you're installing shouldn't interfere with anything else, but I can't promise that. I would recommend a seperate install.

      2. Add the included vietnamSEA_targets.ini, vietnamsea_movement.ini and vietnamsea_types.ini into the terrain folder (allow to overwrite)

      3. Drop the LineBackerIII campaign folder into the campaigns folder.

      4. Add the F-16C_BLK40 and FA-18C folders into the aircraft folder. Also run the installer for the F-16A_BLK10_NDC into a temporary folder, and copy all the pilot and extra files (effects, etc.) from the temporary directory into the appropriate directory in your Linebacker III (or WOE) installation.

      5. Overwrite the TER_CBU entry in the weapondata.ini file with the included weapon data. You will need to overwrite the exsisting entry, not just add the data at the bottom. The only difference is the attachment points have been adjusted to allow only the outer and bottom attachment points to be used (for the F-16). Make sure to open the weapon in the weapon editor afterwards so it shows up.

      6. Copy all the data.ini files from in the ground object update folder into their appropriate folders in the groundobject folder. This updates all the SAM's, AAA, and vehicles so they show up after the 80's.

      7. Install all of the required downloads.

      8. If your doing a separate install, place mainscreen.BMP and mainscreen_alt.BMP in your menu folder. I have included two different mainscreens, and you can switch between the two by simply naming whichever one you want to use mainscreen.bmp and changing the name of the other one to something else. There is also an icon you can use. I would also reccommend saving a copy of one of you favorite 90's rock songs in .wav format and renaming it mainscreen.wav and dropping that in the menu folder. I chose "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'n Roses. Really sets the mood!

    11. DangerZone.zip

This campaign is a campaign based on the movie "Top Gun", based on David Slavens and Ken Bordeaux's original Top Gun campaign, which you can download at www.avisim.com. With the release of the F-14A, it only seemed logical to put together a campaign based on the move "Top Gun".

For this campaign you will need the following files.

David Slaven's "Scal" terrain which comes with his Top Gun campaign, which you can get at Avsim.

    14. NF-104A

In 1963, three ex-USAF F-104As (56-756, -760, and -762) were taken out of storage at Davis Monthan AFB and modified as NF-104A aerospace training aircraft. All of the military equipment was removed and the original F-104A vertical fin was replaced by the larger fin that was used on the F-104G. The wingspan was increased by four feet (to 25.94 feet) and a set of hydrogen peroxide control thrusters were mounted at the nose, tail, and wingtips. A 6000 pound thrust Rocketdyne LR121/AR-2-NA-1 auxiliary rocket engine was mounted on the tail above the jet exhaust pipe. This rocket engine could be throttled from 3000 to 6000 pounds of thrust, and the burn time was about 105 seconds.

The first NF-104A was delivered on October 1, 1963, with the other two following a month later. They were operated by the Aerospace Research Pilot School at Edwards AFB, which was commanded at that time by Colonel Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager.

On December 6, 1963, the first NF-104A set an unofficial world altitude record of 118,860 feet for aircraft taking off under their own power. The official record at that time was 113,829 feet, set by the Mikoyan/Gurevich Ye-66A, an experimental version of the MiG-21 Fishbed. Later, the same NF-104A flown by Major R. W. Smith reached an altitude of 120,800 feet.

On December 10, 1963, the second NF-104A (56-762), with Chuck Yeager at the controls, went out of control at an altitude of 104,000 feet and fell in a flat spin to 11,000 feet. Yeager managed to eject successfully at that altitude, although he was badly burned on his face by the rocket motor of his ejector seat. The aircraft was destroyed in the ensuing crash. An investigation later showed that the cause of the crash was a spin that resulted from excessive angle of attack and lack of aircraft response. The excessive angle of attack was not caused by pilot input but by a gyroscopic condition set up by the J79 engine spooling after shut down for the rocket-powered zoom climb phase. So it wasn't Chuck's fault.

In June of 1971, the third NF-104A, with Capt. Howard C. Thompson at the controls, suffered an inflight explosion of its rocket motor. Although Thompson was able to land safely, the aircraft's rocket motor and half its rudder were blown away. Since the program was about to end in any case, this aircraft was retired.

The number one NF-104A is currently on display on top of aa pylon in front of the USAF Test Pilot School.

    19. CIM-10A Bomarc

      The CIM-10A Bomarc

As promised, and just before moving to Zürich and starting my new job, I hereby give you the Bomarc missile with a simplified launcher.

      Introduction
      ------------
The CIM-10 Bomarc (originally IM-99) was the product of the Bomarc Missile Program. The Program was a joint United States of America–Canada effort between 1957 and 1972 to protect against the USSR bomber threat. The Bomarc was a joint development with Boeing and Michigan Aeronautical Research Center. It involved the deployment of tactical stations armed with Bomarc missiles along the east and west coasts of North America and the central areas of the continent. BOMARC and the SAGE guidance system were phased out in the early 1970s since they seemed to be ineffective and costly. Neither of these systems was ever used in combat, so while their combat effectiveness remains untested, they are still perceived as having been an important deterrent.

    23. WOE Mirage 4000 prototype (What-If)

This aircraft mod represents the probable workout of Dassault's Mirage 4000 and also the first member of an aircraft family as the company always created several variants of each type based on costumer requirement and evolution of technology. Other types and variants will be uploaded as separate packages.
This package comes with 2 skin sets, the white prototype available for 4 AC, and a test squadron skin for 26 planes.

This model is the SF1 version, tested in WOE.
Using it in SFP1, WOV or WOI may reveal some hidden flaws.
The FlightEngine.ini file provided comes from WOE. Read the "Readme" file for info.

Install is the regular dropping the contents in their respective places.
Please note: The model can be quite heavy on FPS in large formations on weaker machines, so if required, either resize skin files or use lower lods(_nd,001,002,003) as lod1.

The model uses the general french weapons, either as part of weapon packs or the Mirage 2000 family.

Make sure to read the manual included with the package.

    24. Enhanced SAM trails

      As per post: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?s=&am...st&p=270301

      Enhanced SAM Trails

      by Fubar512

This mod attempts to give the user a bit more situational awareness, by adding an enhanced flare and exhaust flame effect to large SAMs, making them visible for miles, during both day and night missions. It also replaces the default exhaust trail with a whispier, more prominent trail (which should allow for a slight improvement in frame rate when multiple SAMs are in the air)

To install: Simply drop the LargeSAMTrailEffect.ini into your effects folder. That's all that's required.

To uninstal: Just delete the LargeSAMTrailEffect.ini, and the game will revert to using the original.

Known issues: The "rocketflare" effect may appear larger on all objects that use it, though this is not necessarily objectionable. To test that, launch an air to air missile, and see if you find the flare effect too prominent.

If you do find it to be an issue, open the LargeSAMTrailEffect.ini in Windows Notepad, and edit the following lines:

      [EffectType001]
      Element[03].ElementName=RocketFlareEmitter<----edit to RocketFlareEmitter2

      [EmitterType003]
      Name=RocketFlareEmitter<------edit to RocketFlareEmitter2

Save the edits when prompted, and the LargeSAMTraileffect will continue to use the enhanced rocketflare by itself, with absolutely no impact on other files.

    25. Update to my speech pack

For some reason or another, I can't succesfully update my previous speech pack from last night when it was reported broken, so I'm uploading another one. If this comes up broken as well, yell at me.

This Speech pack was originally made by Klavs81. What I did to them
was lower the volume so that you can hear the rest of the speech that
wasn't altered by Klavs81 and not lose your hearing at the same time.
This should really be an update to his file, but since I don't have
access to it. I'll post it up seperately. Make sure you back-up your
stuff though before you add this file, incase you don't like it. Oh, and
by the way, this was very... tedious.

Installation is pretty simple. Just copy the folder called Speech and
      drop into your SFP1(G)/WOV/WOE/WOI folder.
