Julhelm's Container Ship for SF2
Model and Textures: Julhelm
Effects and .ini work: Fubar512
This mod is designed and optimized for the SF2 series, and may not work properly in SF1.
To install: Simply extract the contents of the 7z archive file into the mod (saved games) folder of the desired title. For example, using SF2NA, the default path would be "YOUR NAME/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2NorthAtlantic"
Note that model's running lights will be on all the time. This is currently due to the limitations of the series.
To enable the included sounds, you must have access to the soundlist.ini, which can be extracted from the flightdata, cat file. It must then be placed into your game's flight folder, and the following edits should be made to it (note, if you have a custom soundlist.ini already, simply add the following lines in their appropriate numerical order. Don't forget to edit the XXX entries to match your existing sequence).

This model represents the first Littoral Combat Ship, USS Freedom, in commission with the US Navy since 2008. These vessels are designed to be fast, stealthy, and highly modular.
This package includes decal sets for all current and future ships of the class, plus all necessary sounds, guns, and weapons such as the exclusive RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile. The ship can support two helicopters. See the readme file for full details.
A SRBOC countermeasures system has been installed to help defend against anti-ship missiles. This system is still in the beta stages, but if well-received, will be added to my other models as appropriate.
The weapon systems, collision mesh, and decals have been updated for compatibility with SF2: North Atlantic and the March 2012 patch. If you have not installed/do not plan to install either, this model will not work properly.
When setting up a task force, using the USNgrey texture will allow hull decals based on the ship number. This is bugged in single missions (as the ship number apparently defaults to 90 and can't be changed), so select a specific texture set with the hull number you want.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
This model represents the C-14 China Cat series, a small missile boat designed in China for use in the Middle East. It has been in service with the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy since 2002, and it is also used by the PLAN in limited quantities to test new light weaponry.
The China Cat can reach speeds of up to 50 knots and can carry a variety of weapons. Three variants are included in this package with the following weapons:
C-701, a very small anti-ship missile designed for attacking other patrol boats and fast attack craft.
C-704, a significantly larger anti-ship missile developed from the C-701 designed for attacking medium-size vessels.
122mm unguided rockets in a 16-round launcher for light artillery support
All versions have a 23mm cannon on the bow in addition to the above.
Optional for new modders:
As this model was built as part of a tutorial I made for CombatAce, I have included the 3D Max files and texture templates in a separate package.
CombatAce modders are free to modify these files as they see fit to create alternate configurations or entirely different vessels.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this model, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!
"Udet-Seenotbojen" or Udet Rescue Bouy and S7-S13 Class E-boat for SF2 WW2 Battle of Britain Installs
To install, copy the included Objects, Effects, Missions and Sound folders into your MOD folder and make the INI file edits described below. If you already have an E-boat in your ground objects, back it up. If you don't want a high poly E-boat model, maybe just install the Udet-bouy. Tested in a WW2 Install based on SFNA patched to June 2012 Level. You can also slip the E-boat into your Euro WWII as it is a ground object, same goes for the Udet-bouy but you will not be able to use the custom Target placement as this has been written for the Battle of Britain Terrain.
All users should be prepared for longer load times as the E-boat model weighs-in at around 5.6 MB despite my poly-crunching and pruning -- the original was MUCH bigger this! If you want a smaller model, try copying and renaming LOD2 to LOD1 -- you will be missing crew, dingies and torpedos but have a smaller, but still big, file.
Talking of the original, the base model that I've imported into SF2 is a fantastic 3DS Max model by Alvaro Alves of De Espona 3D Models and is released as a creation here under a Royalty Free License. The version here is very heavily edited and with mostly new textures.
The Udet-bouy is my own creation.
This started out as a small project to learn 3DS Max by making a low poly Udet-bouy but it kind of got out of control! So, a LOT of work for such a little object and it's big brother but worth it I think. If you're a 109 pilot with a damaged engine limping back to France, try a belly landing next to an Udet-bojen and then swim for it!
Hope you like it,
Steve T.

SF2 WW2 MTO Regia Marina Cargo Ship 2/20/2014
-- Something for the WW2 MTO players --
= For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =
Yet another repaint/repurpose of Stephan1918's EXCELLENT First Eagles cargo ships. This time, we're representing merchant ships of the Italian Navy (Regia Marina) of WW2.
This will give you something other than the stock cargo ship or anything else (available or not) for auntie-shipping missions in The Med
These ships ARE armed, to 2 20mm guns, so they WILL shoot back when under attack!!
As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please =READ= them BEFORE installing this mod!!!. You'll also be editing your sound list, if you haven't already, to add the ship sounds
Happy Hunting!

edit: the ship is NOW in the zip. sorry folks!
The Farragut class was the second destroyer class of the United States Navy to be named for Admiral David Glasgow Farragut.
The class is sometimes referred to as the Coontz class, since Coontz was first to be designed and built as a guided missile ship,
whereas the previous three ships were designed as all-gun units and converted later.
Ten Farragut-class ships were ordered between 1955 and 1957.
Each ship displaced 5,800 tons under full load, with a length of 512 feet (156 m), a 52-foot (16 m) beam and a top speed of 33 knots (61 km/h).
Originally commissioned as guided missile frigates (DLG), they were redesignated as guided missile destroyers (DDG) under the fleet realignment in 1975.
They were also the only redesignated ships to be renumbered as well under the realignment, with the first unit changing from DLG-6 to DDG-37 and
all subsequent vessels being renumbered upwards in order.
All ships of the class were decommissioned between 1989 and 1994 and subsequently scrapped.

Kiev Add-on for SF2NA
Effects and .ini work: MiGbuster and Fubar512
Placement: MiGbuster
requires Carrier Deck Illumination Beta 1.0
&
SF2NA
This mod is written as an add-on to the Carrier Deck Illumination Beta 1.0 package.
It does not conatin a working model of the Kiev, which is only available if you have a copy of SF2NA.
It also requires the aforementioned carrier deck illumination package, which can be downloaded at: http://combatace.com/topic/81708-carrier-deck-illumination/
To install: Simply drag the contents of the zip file, which is the "groundobject" folder, into the mod (saved games) folder of the desired title. For example, using SF2NA, the default path would be "YOUR NAME/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2NorthAtlantic"
Note that this is a Beta, a work in progress, and as such, it is not perfect; We have taken a bit of a guess as to the decklight positioning on the Kiev, and it is probably not accurate. Also, the deck illumination will be on at all times. This is currently due to the limitations of the game engine, and our work-around to the illumination issue.
Carrier Deck Illumination Beta 1.0
Effects and .ini work: MiGbuster and Fubar512
Placement: MiGbuster
Technical Consultant: SidDogg
This mod DOES NOT contain the carrier models. It requires that you have Sf2V and/or SF2NA, and preferably both, installed on your system. The SCB-125 and CVA-63 models are native to SF2V. They are also included in SF2NA, which adds the CVN-68. We have included files for all three types.
To install: Simply drag the contents of the zip file, which are the two folders, "effects and groundobject", into the mod (saved games) folder of the desired title. For example, using SF2NA, the default path would be "YOUR NAME/Saved Games/Thirdwire/StrikeFighters2NorthAtlantic"
Note that this is a Beta, a work in progress, and as such, it is not perfect. Deck illumination is on all the time. The Optical Landing System is not-functional. These are currently due to the limitations of the series.
This is a fix pack for my "SF2:NA US Stock Ships Data File Mod/Update 1.0" located at the link below.
http://combatace.com/files/file/14561-sf2na-us-stock-ships-data-file-modupdate/
When I uploaded the US Stock Ships Data File Update pack I accidentally packed up some of my second to last file versions instead of the final variants I intended to upload.
This Fix Pack contains the adjustments that I overlooked when I first uploaded the pack.
Just copy and paste into the mod folder that you placed the "SF2:NA US Stock Ships Data File Mod/Update 1.0" into and overwrite when ask.
I am also updating the pack to include the changes this pack adds so you don’t need this Fix Pack if you downloaded the "SF2:NA US Stock Ships Data File Mod/Update" after 2/9/2014.
This is a US counterpart my previously uploaded Soviet ship updates.
This pack has updated data files for the stock Third Wire SF2:NA United States Navy surface combatants and amphibious ships.
/------------------------------------------------------------------
The changes are primarily centered around adjustments to the Elevation and Train of the guns with regard to both the Maximum and Minimum position and rate of movement.
A number of other adjustments have also been made related to gunners and guns.
The "Alt1" variant of the data files uses stock guns.
The "Alt2" version is set to use alternate guns which should improve the effectiveness of the guns in the AA and CIWS role.
The alternate Guns have been included.
This file has been tested in SF2:NA.
/------------------------------------------------------------------
1.1 includes some minor adjustments that I missed including in the original release.
This is an updated data file for the Stock Third Wire SF2:NA Kiev Class Soviet Carrier.

The changes include improvements to the Kiev's CIWS and adjustments to all gunners on the ship.
The "Alt1" variant of the data file uses stock guns.
The "Alt2" version is set to use alternate guns which should improve the effectiveness of the guns in the AA and CIWS role.
The alternate Guns have been included.

This package contains modified data files for the Udaloy and UdaloyII Class Destroyers. It is meant for SF2:NA based installs only.
You can find it in the Udaloy class upgrade package 1.0
http://combatace.com/files/file/12800-udaloy-class-upgrade-package/
Alternatively if you have the SF2:NA Expansion Pack by eburger68 then it can be used with the Slava included in the pack.
/--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This package makes numerous adjustments to the Udaloy & UdaloyII Data files.
The most important is making the SA-N-9 missile launchers function via a Gunner instead of using the [WeaponSystem] entery. As such they operate similar to the launchers on WhiteBoySamurai's ships.
On the Udaloy II, two launchers have been set up for the SA-N-11's used by its Kasthan mounts so as not to interfere with the guns of the Kasthan.
All other gunners have been heavily overhauled in order to adjust the performance of the ship's gun systems against the AA and CIWS role.
The Alt1 file is uses stock or existing guns while the Alt2 file uses custom modified guns.
This package contains modified data files for the Slava Class Cruiser. It is meant for SF2:NA based installs only.

This package makes numerous adjustments to the Slava Data file.
The most important is making the SA-N-6 missile launchers function via a Gunner instead of using the [WeaponSystem] entery. As such they operate similar to the launchers on WhiteBoySamurai's cruisers.
Some slight adjustments have also been made to the SA-N-4 gunners.
Additionally all other gunners have been heavily overhauled in order to adjust the performance of the ship's gun systems against the AA and CIWS role.
The Alt1 file is uses stock or existing guns while the Alt2 file uses custom modified guns.
This is an updated data file for the Stock Third Wire SBC-125.
Adjustments have been made to bring the [DetectSystem] entry in line with SF2:NA.
It has been based upon the data used by the TW CVA-63.
Also the four Mark 24 Mod 11 5 inch mounts for the 5"/38 Mark 12 guns are now operational.
As default they are set to use the stock TW "5IN_MK12"
An alternate optional 5 inch gun "5IN_38_MK12_AA" has been included. This gun has been adjusted to be more effective against aircraft.
This file has been tested in SF2:NA.
CVN Ulyanovsk
by
Julhelm
This model represents the Soviet Project 1143.7 CVN Ulyanovsk, as it probably would have appeared had the project had been carried through to completion.
I won't go into the actual history of the ship, as it's just as easy for anyone so inclined to perform an online search and dig up all the relevant details on the vessel.
This model was designed and optimized for SF2:NA, and that means Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. At the very least it requires the latest SF2 series patch for its systems and DX10 visual effects to work properly.
To install this package, simply place the folders located inside the .RAR archive into the mod folder of whichever SF2 title you desire the ship to appear in.
Additional work may be required on your part to ensure that the ship's TEWS RWR symbol (SkyWatch) is added to the RWR list of any aircraft so equipped. Instructions on how to do this, can be found on the SF2 knowledge base, courtesy of EricJ:
http://combatace.com/topic/44441-making-a-custom-tga-for-tews-radar-warning-recievers/
Sound effects will also require editing of the soundlist.ini file in order to work.
I’ve included a modified soundlist.ini file, for those who do not have it extracted.
Warning: Be careful if you already have an existing custom soundlist.ini file, as it will be overwritten. In that case, simply add the following lines (shown below), taking care to follow the existing numbering sequence (the soundlist.ini will reside in your flight folder). Use the supplied soundlist.ini as a guide.

Known issues:
1) The supplied SA-N-11 Kortik SAMs are not precisely scaled, so they were placed in the center of each Kashtan's missile tube cluster. They also do not have a defined booster stage in their model file, so don't expect booster separation. Also, the actual SA-N-11 is guided by an optical tracking system in real life. Again, this is not supported by the series, so they were given high counter-measure rejection and probability of intercept values, to compensate.
2) As of the present date (October 7 2012) Third Wire does not support a PROPER VLS system on a vessel that's also equipped with mutiple SAM types, on slewable mounts. To put it simply, one can have a working VLS system and nothing else, or one can have working Kashtans. I chose the latter option, though the nodes and missiles are supplied if this situation were to change in the future.
3) Third Wire has not made provisions for a working "ski-jump", so virtual bow catapults are used instead, and aircraft thus launched will appear to fly through the bow ramp.

North Dakota Texaco tanker v1.0 for SF2
This is an attempt at making a better-looking target as compared to the stock cargoship. I think this looks better.
Be advised this uses normalmapping and is thus incompatible with versions of the game earlier than february 2010. Works fine in DX9 however though you'll not see any per-pixel lighting. Won't work in 1st gen games so don't even bother.

Installation:
Simply extract the contents of the package into your ground objects folder. It'll overwrite your stock cargoship so that, you know, it'll actually show up in missions.
Known Issues:
Destroyed model absolutely refuses to show up ingame. However I've included the lod file so any enterprising souls can give it a go.

Hi! This is another armed cargo ship. This time, it has M-1939 and ZPU-1 AAA. It's just another ini edit. Just unzip and drag to your Groundobjects folder. It's a new ship, so no overwrite is needed. I am planning to make a new one, but this time with deadly SAMs. I hope you like it!
The Mighty Hood 1941 we Hope you enjoy her in extended combat.
Hi!!! This is a little modification of the stock Cargo Ship. It has a ZSU-23 Shilka on its deck, so that it will shoot the hell out of anything flying above it. It won't be such a threat for high velocity aircrafts, even at low altitude, but you will have some trouble if trying to dive-bomb towards the ship. Note that the 3D model is the same. I don't know if it is possible to actually add a Shilka model on its deck. This is just a deadly INI edit.
This will not replace the stock Cargo Ship. Just drag the ShilkaCargoShip folder to your GroundObjects folder. That's it!!!
Thanks KJakker For your help as regards the Detect and Weapon system lines!!!
Here's a nice video!
