Hawker Hunter F.6 For SF2:Europe
By Spinners
Hawker Hunter F.6 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2:EUROPE
This is a simple mod of the excellent Third Wire Hunter to give a flyable Hawker Hunter F.6 fighter-bomber with markings for No.63 and No.74 squadrons of the Royal Air Force in the late-1950's to early 1960's period.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Drop the Hunter_F6 folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder.
Do not just move the folder! You must empty the contents in.
N.B. If you haven't got a Decals folder inside your Objects folder then simply move my Decals folder into your Objects folder.
MARKINGS
Both squadrons did actually operate the Hunter F.6 but the markings are slightly 'generic' and both squadrons were mainly seen with either nose markings or fuselage markings. Both are shown as default so you can delete either to suit your preference.
CREDITS
BIG THANKS to TK for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.
And special thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

Hawker Hunter F.5 For SF2 'Suez'
By Spinners
Hawker Hunter F.5 for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of the excellent Third Wire Hunter to give a flyable Hawker Hunter F.5 fighter-bomber with markings for No.1 and No.34 squadrons of the Royal Air Force in the mid-1950's period. Both squadrons were dispatched to Cyprus during the 1956 Suez Crisis and wore yellow and black 'invasion' stripes during that conflict. These stripes are reproduced here as decals so that they can easily be removed or you can move the fuselage stripes aft of the roundel to suit your taste as photographs exist showing both locations.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Drop the Hunter_F5 folder into your Aircraft folder.
2. Sprinkle the contents of the Decals folder into your main Decals folder.
Do not just move the folder! You must empty the contents in.
N.B. If you haven't got a Decals folder inside your Objects folder then simply move my Decals folder into your Objects folder.
NOTES
This Hunter F.5 is set up, just like the real thing, with just the two inner-wing weapons pylons.
MARKINGS
Both squadrons did actually operate the Hunter F.5 but the markings are slightly 'generic' although the serials are accurate.

B-66B SF2x
By hgbn
The B-66B was developed strictly as a tactical bomber and was the last bomber of this type procured by the USAF. The -B model was based on the RB-66A which was in turn adapted from the US Navy A3D Skywarrior. The B-66B made its first flight on 4 January 1955, about 6 months after the initial flight of the RB-66A. The USAF received its first production aircraft in March 1956 and deliveries continued into 1958.
The B-66B was the first USAF bomber designed with in-flight refueling (IFR) capability, although many (numerically) earlier bombers were fitted with IFR equipment as a retrofit modification or on later models in the development cycle.
A total of 62 B-66B bombers were built. Many -B models were converted to electronic warfare aircraft after their usefulness as bombers was complete. Many of these aircraft, designated as EB-66B or EB-66E, served in Sotheast Asia during the Vietnam war.
All credits above Bunyap
Skins included with the aircraft:
84th Bomb Squadron, 47th Bomb Wing ? 1960
85th Bomb Squadron, 47th Bomb Wing - 1960

MiG-21M
By paulopanz
Mig-21M
The Mig-21M (modernizeerovannyy) was the export version of the Mig-21S (Sapfeer-21 radar), the first fighter of the third generation Mig-21s.
Both NATO nickname was Fishbed-J, the engine was the Soyuz R11F2S-300.
It differed from the domestic version in two important respects: the downgraded (simplified) avionics and the built-in GSh-23L gun.
The Mig-21MF (modernizeerovannyy forseerovannyy), the export version of the Mig-21SM (S-modernizeerovannyy), all named Fishbed-J too, had the more powerfull engine Soyuz R13-300, the rear view periscope and two blast deflectors below the blow-in doors.
The Mig-21M was exported in East Germany (87), Poland (36), Czechoslovakia (24), Romania (60), Yugoslavia (25), Bulgaria (15), Syria (12), Egypt (12) and India.
The IAF had 65 Soviet-built Mig-21M (izdeliye 96) were called in India Mig-21MF, but the Indian-built Type-88(izdeliye 96F) , very similar to soviet Mig-21MF, was called Mig-21M , that caused some misunderstandings …..
This is taken from Yefim Gordon’s Mig-21 masterpiece.
There was’nt in TW/TK simulations.
So I started from the Mig-21MF and removed the periscope and the blast deflectors, changed the engine stats (data taken from previous Mig-21S mod), made some other editings (performances and weapons) took some stock MF skins (Soviet, Syrian and Eaf), made new ones and historical known serial numbers.
I was not able to remove periscope from inside the cockpit, if someone could , do it please.
Because some Mig-21M were sometime “retrofitted” with periscope and blast plates, I included in the pack a dedicated “retrofitted” data.ini. You have only to change it with the stock one.
In this way the plane is identical in shape to Mig-21MF.
In fact the IAF planes were “retrofitted”.
*** * ***
The new skins included:
1) LSK Silver & Camo with historical serial numbers (made on Souli’s original work as usual) and “Q” quality marks on appropriate planes;
2) PWL Silver with historical serial numbers;
3) Yugo Silver with historical serial numbers;
4) IAF Silver & Camo with known historical serial numbers;
5) FAR Silver with historical serial numbers;
Stock Soviet, EAF and Syrian skin included.
Credits (I hope no mistake ..):
- Ordway for his wonderfull cockipt;
- Spillone-104 for dedicated sound;
- Soulfreak for LSK stencils
To install: simply put everithing in your mod SF-2 folder.
Pictures and Screenshots as usual.
Happy fly.
Paolo
P.S. this is an "open mod" everyone can help with historical references or FM tuning.

F-105F and G Thunderchief introduction & History
***********************************
The F-105F was heavily committed to combat over Southeast Asia. Some were quickly adapted for the "Wild Weasel" air-defense suppression role, fitted with electronics to detect enemy radars and target air defense sites for destruction in advance of strike packages. The original Air Force "Wild Weasel I" was a modified two-seat North American F-100F Super Sabre, but the F-100 wasn't fast enough to keep up with F-105 strike packages, and so the F-105F was selected for the role.
The major elements of the modification were addition of the "APR-25 Radar Homing And Warning (RHAW)" system, which picked up and located radar sites; the "APR-26 Launch Warning Receiver (LWR)", which provided warning of a missile launch; and an "IR-133 Scan Receiver" to search for emitters. The back-seat "electronics warfare officer (EWO)" controlled these devices and had a cockpit CRT to help locate targets.
The first such F-105F "Wild Weasel II", sometimes informally known as an "EF-105F", performed its first flight on 15 January 1966, and the Wild Weasel Thuds were engaged in active combat by the spring of that year. A total of 86 Wild Weasel F-105F conversions were performed.
The Wild Weasel F-105F was armed with the new "AGM-45 Shrike Anti-Radar Missile (ARM)", a modified Sparrow AAM with a radar-homing head, to destroy radar transmitters, and attacked air-defense sites with CBU-24 cluster bombs and other munitions. Sometimes Wild Weasel F-105Fs worked with F-105Ds in "hunter-killer" teams, with the Wild Weasel Thud pinpointing the target and the F-105Ds destroying it.
While other aircraft could avoid air-defense sites when possible, Wild Weasels actually had to attract their attention and take them on. This led to the Wild Weasel motto, which was "YGBSM", standing for "You Gotta Be s**ttin' Me!" Apparently this was the reaction of the first Wild Weasel aircrews when they were told what they were getting themselves into.
Wild Weasel crews were generally gutsy sorts, and they evolved tactics for outflying SAMs launched at them. They would watch for a missile launch, and then fly straight at the SAM at high speed, turning at the last moment. The fast-moving SAM would not be able to turn quickly enough to bring the fighter into the blast radius of its warhead.
Two Wild Weasel F-105F pilots won the highest American military award, the Congressional Medal of Honor. On 10 March 1967, Captain Merlyn F. Dethlefsen was piloting one of four Wild Weasel Thuds paving the way for a strike package. The leader was shot down by anti-aircraft fire, and North Vietnamese MiG-21 fighter made repeated passes on the survivors, trying to force them to dump their ordnance. Dethlefsen pressed home the attack anyway and destroyed the site. All three surviving Wild Weasels returned home with severe damage. Dethlefsen was personally awarded the medal by President Johnson.
On 19 April 1967, Lieutenant Colonel Leo K. Thorsness had completed a Wild Weasel strike when his wingmates were shot down. He was low on fuel but stayed around to cover the air rescue operation, driving of a flight of MiG-17s that tried to interfere. Thorsness shot down one MiG and damaged another. He passed up an opportunity to refuel from a tanker when another aircraft breathing fumes showed up, and landed safely at Ubon, a forward base in Thailand.
On 30 April, Thorsness' F-105 was hit and badly damaged. He and his EWO ejected, Thorsness being badly injured in the process, and were captured by the North Vietnamese. They spent over six years in a North Vietnamese POW camp.
* 56 Wild Weasel F-105Fs were later updated to an improved "Wild Weasel III" configuration with the designation "F-105G", featuring improved avionics, as well as jammer pods that were faired into the forward fuselage, freeing up the underwing pylons for other stores. 14 of the F-105Gs were further modified to carry the big AGM-78 "Standard Anti-Radar Missile (STARM)", an air-launched variant of the US Navy's "Standard" SAM.

F-86K SF2

------- ORIGINAL RELEASE -------------------------
F-86K (Early Model) Sabre by Bunyap, Fubar512.
Skins by USAFMTL and Sundowner.
Original 3D model by Zur.
This is the early F-86K (pre ser number 56-4116) with the narrow chord wing. Later Ks had the extended F-40 wing and earlier ones were retrofitted. I'll have those when the L is done...
Put the plane in your aircraft folder. The skins are semi accurate based on the vague info I have on the K models of W Germany and Italy. Sleepy Sweeper is going to hook up the Norwegian Kilos. ( I think)
Make sure you have the latest wep pack to get the F-86 drop tanks.
Also in an update to the F-86D-45 which fixes the lights postions. Put that file in your main F-86D-45 folder and overwrite.

Final notes
This is good for taking out bombers. If you are lucky. Dogfighting fighters in it though, forget it. You will be able to see what the pilots of this aircraft had to go through in case of a war. It was not a ground attack aircraft, it was used for intercepts, high speed recon (if ever) and CAP's over the US and Canada. Good luck, you will need it.

Decals by Dave "USAFMTL"
MOAB by FastCargo Converted for SF2 use by Dave "USAFMTL"
For SF2/SF2:V/SF2:E
Footnote:
I wanted this plane because it represents Command and Control of which I do in the military. Doesn't have much utility in the game but it does look cool on the flight line and dropping MOAB's is too much fun. Thank you Dels for taking this special request.
