    5. Tupolev Tu-16 Badger Collection

      Although the Tu-16 began as a high-altitude, free-fall bomber, in the mid-1950s it was equipped to carry early Soviet cruise missiles.
      The Tu-16KS (Badger-B) version could carry AS-1 missiles over a combat radius of 1,800 km (1,125 mi).
      These very large weapons were aerodynamically similar to the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 fighter,
      fitted with either a nuclear or conventional warhead, had a range of about 140 km (90 mi).
      They were intended for use primarily against US Navy aircraft carriers and other large surface ships.
      Subsequent Tu-16s were converted to carry later, more advanced missiles, while their designations changed several times.
      A versatile design, the Tu-16 was built in numerous specialized variants for reconnaissance, maritime surveillance,
      electronic intelligence gathering (ELINT), and electronic warfare (ECM).
      A total of 1,507 aircraft was constructed in three plants in the Soviet Union, in 1954–1962.
      They were exported to Egypt, Iraq and Indonesia.
      Egypt: 20 Tu-16KS; 6 Tu-16T; 20 Tu-16KRS2/K-11; Tu-16R

    6. SF2 Soviet Transport and AWAC Aircraft by Veltro2K

      SF2 Soviet Transport and AWAC Aircraft by Veltro2K

      = For SF2, Full 5 Merged RECCOMENDED! =

      This is a Re-release of the Veltro2k's Soviet/WarPac Transport and AWAC aircraft.
      It is REQUIRED that you have SF2NA in your merged install, as several of these reference
      the stock 3W Tu-95 Bear destroyed model. Some reference the stock 3W An-12 destroyed
      model. Hence, the need for a Full 5 Merged install. It is usable without, but you won't
      have the dead wreckage on the ground. Also, the AWAC versions use the "AEW" avionics
      coding from SF2NA.

      Included in the pak are remods of:

      An-22 Cock
      A-50 Mainstay AWAC
      IL-76 Candid
      Tu-114 Cleat (Aeroflot airliner)
      Tu-126 Moss AWAC

      Aircraft that were exported have userlist inis included (ie: the Il-76). Any that I
      missed, End Users ™ are encouraged to 'fill in the blanks', and post those changes.
      All avionics, in particular for the AWACs, have been brought up SF2NA standards at the
      July 2012 patch level. New sounds for the prop engines are included. Although cockpits ARE
      included for all aircraft, really people...let the AI handle them. They exist for 2
      reasons: eye candy and targets.
      Skins remain in their bmp format, and decal radomization is set to TRUE. All decals
      reference stock markings, including the Bort numbers. New damage textures are supplied, in
      DDS format.

      As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read
      them!!! Also, give the "Note" section a read, in particular on operational usage.
      The Legal Statement has been changed with regards to these aircraft.
      For those that still have the original releases, as there HAVE been changes and additions
      in several of the inis, you may wish to examine them, mostly in respect to SF2NA, you may wish
      to replace the originals with these.

      **These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. Any and all issues/problems
      that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be
      created**.

      Happy Landings!

    7. Sukhoi Su-9 "Fishpot-B" - DLC AI planes pack 2 -

      The Su-9 emerged from aerodynamic studies by TsAGI, the Soviet aerodynamic center, during the Korean War, which devised several optimum aerodynamic configurations for jet fighters.
      The design first flew in 1956 as the T-405 prototype.
      The Su-9 was developed at the same time as the Su-7 'Fitter', and both were first seen by the West at the Tushino Aviation Day on 24 June 1956, where the Su-9 was dubbed Fitter-B.
      It entered service in 1959.
      Total production of the Su-9 was about 1,100 aircraft.
      It is believed that at least some Su-9s were upgraded to Su-11 'Fishpot-C' form.
      None were exported to any of the USSR's client states nor to the Warsaw Pact nations.
      Remaining Su-9s and later Su-11s were retired during the 1970s.
      Some were retained as test vehicles or converted to remote-piloted vehicles for use as unmanned aerial vehicles.
      It was replaced by the upgraded Su-11 and the much-superior Su-15 'Flagon' and MiG-25 'Foxbat'.

      What's in:

      - a new flyable plane
      - great Stary's cockpit built in
      - 6 simple (but all I found) skins includind famous 179 IAP one
      - specific sound
      - pilot
      - animated canopy
      - screens

      - cockpit Stary (readme included)
      - sound Spillone104
      - Skins/decals/edits paulopanz

      Install:
      - put all in main mod folder and overwrite

      Note:
      Su-9.ini is flagged as only reading (sola lettura) to avoid patching rewriting, so the plane will be flyable until you'll not change files property, maybe to add further skins. By the way a recovery copy is included.

      This is for Stary the "pitmaker".

      Enjoy

    8. Su-7 "FITTER-A" Super Pack

      The Sukhoi Su-7 (NATO designation name: Fitter-A) was a swept wing, supersonic fighter aircraft developed by the Soviet Union in 1955.
      Originally, it was designed as tactical, low-level dogfighter, but was not successful in this role.
      On the other hand, soon-introduced Su-7B series became the main Soviet fighter-bomber and ground-attack aircraft of the 1960s.
      The Su-7 was rugged in its simplicity but its shortcomings included short range and low weapon load.
      It had 4 hardpoints, later implemented to 6. This pack portrays both early and later version for each BM/BKL/BMK types.

      What's in:

    9. Su-15 Flagon A for SF2 [Revamp]

      The Su-15 "Flagon" was developed to replace the less capables Su-9/11 in the homeland interception duties, among the improvements were twin engines, side mounted intakes to replace the nose one.

      The plane was powered with 2 Tumanski R-11F2S-300 engines.

      The side intakes change allowed to mount the more powerful RP-22 Oryol-D (NATO 'Skip Spin') in the nose.

      The initial delta wing in this plane had poor take-off and landing characteristics, so, a later variant was developed.

      ******** The SF2 plane ***********

      The model used was made by Boopidoo who i thank for it, some ini edits were made by me.

      The AA-3 Missiles were tweaked by Snailman to make them less dumb, thanks to him too :D

      2 High 4096x4096 res skins were made by me with a whole, new, more detailed template, available if requested, the first skin depicts some examples of the 57th IAP, 10th OA PVO, based in Norilsk, and the other belongs to the Red Falcons Aerobatic team of the 60´s, this ones never carried bort numbers, info collected by Loborojo, who also i thank for the it.

      This variant was never applied tactical camouflage and was kept natural metal, i wasn´t able to collect info about the stencils, so, if anyone has it and want to share i will update the planes and will credit him/her.

      This plane is made mainly for high speed interceptions, so if you ran out of missiles and got into troubles and don´t want to ram your objective (which sometimes the soviet pilots were instructed to do so), dive as low as you can and run for home, missiles weren´t too reliables at that time and a gun was loooong needed, so that will be corrected in the next variant.

      If i forget to mention anyone who worked in the plane, my apologies, just let me know and i will correct it.

      Hope you have fun with it.

      First production version equipped with the RP-1D "Izumrud" radar (Wikipedia).

      I´ve started this template some months ago, then Stary teased me with a pit he was making, which eventually led me to complete the template.

      The model as is, is the one of Pasko´s Old Yaks, it has some imperfections you will have to live with as i was unable to fix.

      2 High res skins have been made on my part along with the numbers, but the real Star here was Stary, giving a whole new feel to the plane with the cockpit he made.

      Also, must credit my good friend Daniel "Cocas" Liebaert, who let me use a MiG-17 seat we have for another soon to release project.

      The rest, of the people who worked in this project, i will need to send me a PM so i can include them here.

      High altitude reconnaissance version with new wing and camera and sensor packs in the fuselage. Some may have retained one cannon. 155 aircraft built (Wikipedia).

      I´ve started this template some months ago, then Stary teased me with a pit he was making, which eventually led me to complete the template.

      The model as is, is the one of Pasko´s Old Yaks, it has some imperfections you will have to live with as i was unable to fix.

      1 High res skin has been made on my part along with the numbers, but the real Star here was Stary, giving a whole new feel to the plane with the cockpit he made.

      Also, must credit my good friend Daniel "Cocas" Liebaert, who let me use a MiG-17 seat we have for another soon to release project.

      The rest, of the people who worked in this project, i will need to send me a PM so i can include them here.

      Hope you like it and let´s beef our Red Army!!!

    16. IL-10 "Beast"

      The Ilyushin Il-10 (NATO reporting name: "Beast") was a Soviet ground attack aircraft developed at the end of World War II by the Ilyushin construction bureau.It was also license-built in Czechoslovakia by Avia as the Avia B-33.
      After the war, until the early 1950s, the Il-10 was a basic Soviet ground attack aircraft. It was withdrawn from service in 1956.
      The Il-10 and its licensed variant, the Avia B-33, became a basic ground attack plane of the Warsaw Pact countries. From 1949 to 1959, the Polish Air Force used 120 Il-10s (including 24 UIl-10), and 281 B-33s.
      In Poland, the B-33 was modified to carry 400 l fuel tanks under its wings. From 1950 to 1960, Czechoslovakia used 86 Il-10s, including six UIl-10s, and about 600 B-33s. From 1949 to 1956, the Hungarian Air Force used 159 Il-10s and B-33s, named "Párduc" (Panther). From 1950 to 1960, the Romanian Air Force used 14 Il-10s and 156 B-33s. Bulgaria also used these aircrafts.

      In the late 1940s, 93 Il-10 and UIl-10s were given to North Korea. They were then used in the 57th Assault Aviation Regiment during the early phase of the Korean War. They were initially used with success against the weak anti-aircraft defense of South Korean forces (following the US refusal to supply the south with "heavy weapons"), but then they suffered heavy losses in encounters against the USAAF fighters and were bombed on the ground themselves. After several weeks, about 20 remained. In the summer of 1950, North Korea received more aircraft from the USSR. The North Koreans claimed to sink a warship on 22 August 1950 with Il-10s, but it was never confirmed.
      From 1950, Il-10s were used by the People's Republic of China, in two regiments of an assault aviation division. They were used in combat during a conflict with the Republic of China, (Taiwan), over border islands in January 1955. They remained in service until 1972 (replaced by Nanchang Q-5). From 1957, Yemen used 24 B-33s.

      As we realy needed this plane for every early cold war scenery (KAW, SF2EU, TSF, Taiwan, Timor ....) I decided to finish it at all cost and skin in every known post war liveries.
      This is a real team work (see credits)

    20. MiG-25 Foxbats for SF2

      SF2 MiG-25 Foxbats

      This mod package contains a collection of MiG-25 Foxbats, all converted and updated to SF2 standards. Included in the package are all the weapons, effects, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft in this package.

      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, SF2I, or SF2NA. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.

      Those familiar with the original MiG-25 Pack assembled by Dave (USAFTML) for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated package simply builds on the work of Dave and the entire team behind that original release. (The original ReadMe from that release is included here.)

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      To install, simply drag the \Effects and \Objects folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to). By default your Mod Folder should be located here:

      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\

      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to. If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Aircraft & Nations Included
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      The following aircraft are included in this package:

      MiG-25P Foxbat-A - Interceptor
      MiG-25R Foxbat-B - Recon version
      MiG-25RB Foxbat-B - Recon/Bomber version
      MiG-25PU Foxbat-C - 2 seat trainer
      MiG-25PD Foxbat-E - Interceptor (updated)
      MiG-25PD Foxbat-E - Interceptor (updated), Export version
      MiG-25BM Foxbat-F - Anti-radar version

      The following nations are represented:

      USSR
      India
      Iraq
      Libya
      Syria

      For more information on the differences between these various versions, see this Wikipedia article:

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Notes on Changes
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      This package is largely an updating of the original MiG-25 Foxbat Pack to SF2 standards. I will not claim 100 percent technical and historical accuracy for every aspect of every aircraft, but I did consult a number of sources while preparing this package.

      Several things are worth noting:

      - landing gear for all aircraft is fixed, so aircraft no longer bounce
      and teeter around on the ground or wander off into the weeds (this has
      long been a pet peeve of mine with these aircraft, and I think I have
      finally fixed the underlying problem);

      - brake chute animation for the PD and PD Export version has been disabled,
      as the animation appears to be partially broken, leaving the chute door
      open during flight (strangely, this problem does not affect the other
      models);

      - all engines now have fake afterburner nodes (if you don't like their
      appearance, you're welcome to substitute your own or turn them off);

      - all aircraft use standard SF2 shadow statements (the included .SHD files
      actually spawn those dreaded tractor beams, whereas a simple SF2 shadow
      configuration does not).

      It should also be noted that the skins included here are quite dated. If anyone is so inspired to create a new set of skins and decals (Paulopanz, I'm looking at you...), please contact me at CombatAce.com. I would be happy to incorporate a new set of skins and decals into an updated version of this package.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Credits & Acknowledgements
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      This package largely consists of work done by others and released previously in other packages. All I did was assemble the package, update the bits to SF2 standards, and make minor adjustments and tweaks here and there (discussed above).

      Primary credit goes to the team responsible for the original MiG-25 Foxbat package for SF1:

      Dave (USAFTML)
      Wpnssgt
      Tomcat1974
      Sundowner
      Ghostrider
      Deuces
      Moonjumper

      Also included in this package are skins or decals done by the following individuals:

      HrntFixr
      Sidewinder86
      Gepard
      Wrench

      The cockpits used in this package were built by:

      Paladrian (MiG-21 cockpit)
      Boopidoo & Badger the Bad (Su-15 cockpit)

      Finally, I used a tweaked version of the fake afterburner node effect introduced by Spectre8750.

      If I have neglected to credit anyone, please let me know -- it will be fixed ASAP. A copy of the original ReadMe for the MiG-25 Foxbat Pack for SFP1 is included in the same directory as this ReadMe. Any errors in this package are mine alone, so please do report bugs and inaccuracies to the CombatAce.com forum.

      The MiG-17 first saw combat in 1958 over the Straits of Taiwan and was used as an effective threat against supersonic fighters of the United States in the Vietnam War. It was also briefly known as the "Type 38", by U.S. Air Force designation prior to the development of NATO codes.
