  5. Delta-NG missile control pod + skin template

    This is a new version of the soviet Delta-NG missile control pod with hi detail skins in three colors (silver, green, navy grey) and... a Photoshop template for those who want to customize it to their aircraft skin. default is the white capped one for the Yak-38.
     
    This is one of my first 3D object, I did it as practice. It is freeware, just give credits.

    Attention !! this file contains only the lods and textures only !!!! Features 2 versions an early model and one with Stabilizing fins.
    Installation: Make Copy of MK13 folder. Rename folder and change the INI's to whatever you want to call them. copy over the LOD and texture. move back to your objects weapons folder.

  8. SMKB brazilian guided bomb

    The SMKB (Smart-MK-Bomb) is a guidance kit that turns a standard Mk 82 (500 lbs) and Mk 83 (1.000 lbs) into a Precision-guided weapon, respectively called SMKB-82 and SMKB-83. The kit provides extended range up to 50 kilometres (27 nmi) and are guided by an integrated inertial guidance system coupled to three satellites networks, relying on wireless to handle the flow of data between the aircraft and the munition.

  9. WGr.21 Airborne Mortar tweaks

    Modified ini files for the Dev A Team WGr21 weapons add-on.

    Under "Weapons and Vehicles"
     
    This will modify the WGr21 projectiles into IRMs, but without the growl or ability to manoeuvre. Use as unguided rockets from a distance of about 800+ metres. Too close and you will find that your probability of missing actually gets higher - we have cheated a bit, in order to try and get as close as possible to the
    originals, which detonated automatically between 1000 and 1500 metres after launch, according to fuzing.
     
    These are anti-aircraft projectiles, and were not used against ground targets.

  11. Naughty Vixen

    This is a minor mod to give Wrench's excellent Sea Vixen FAW2 a 20mm SUU gun pod. It makes the aircraft (always one of my favorites) into quite a handy dogfighter and ground strafer. Just unzip the attached "Objects.zip" folder and drop it into your "VixenFAW2" folder.
     

    This isn't just a pure fantasy. Well not quite. Some years ago I was on a sailing trip in the Caribbean, with an instructor who was an ex-FAA aircraft artificer (RN-speak for maintainer). He'd served on board HMS Eagle during her final commission, and told a tale of how 899 Sqn had somehow obtained a SUU-pod from their USN counterparts. The terms of the exchange weren't altogether clear, it seems to have involved a couple of cases of liquid morale restorative from the Eagle's wardroom (a fine RN tradition, history records that in 1945 the British Pacific Fleet used similar "currency" to maintain high serviceability rates for their mainly US-manufactured aircraft).
     
    Seems that 899 managed to hang the SUU-pod on one of their Sea Vixens, but there the tale kind of peters out. My friend was very fuzzy on whether they actually managed to get it to fire.
     
    What I have done here is assumed that Eagle's ever-creative air engineering department decided to hang the gun pod on the starboard outer pylon, the one that was already wired up for a buddy-buddy refueling pod. I've further assumed that they've somehow managed to adapt the refueling pod's power and control circuits from British to US voltage standards etc, to power and control the gun pod. Unfortunately they weren't able to go as far as altering the Sea Vixen's Pilot Attack Sight (PAS) to give it a lead-computing facility, so the pilot has to do the best he can with a fixed sight. This still works pretty well.
     
    As for Controller Aircraft clearance? Shhh... !! (I learned first-hand how the FAA works on a TDY to HMS Ark Royal back in '78!)
     
    So try it and have fun with a naughty Vixen!

    This is the AIM-9JULI version.
     
    it's based on a photo of an A-7E(H) in a magazine.
    I 've seen other photos of "JULI's" on the internet, and are not all the same.
    Possibly depending on which model are based, JULIs differ a bit.

  13. AIM-97A Seekbat for SF2

    What if Mod : AIM-97A Seekbat for SF2
    v1.0.0

    1) History
        Studied by General Dynamics, the Seekbat tested under the designation XAIM-97 was a USAF 
        attempt to field a long range AAM for intercepting the Foxbat.
        This 590 kg air-to- air weapon was a SAHM. Its speed was Mach 3+ and its range was 90 km.
        The Seekbat was another Standard missile derivate...

    2) Installation
        This AAM uses the AGM-78 LOD file from Strike Fighters 2.
        I have repainted the tile and created the needed files with the TW Weapon Editor.

        Put the "Objects" folder to your SF2 Directory

        In order to fire it you could fly the Thirdwire F-15A and you need edit the data.ini of the plane 
        and add "SAHM" entry to this file :

  14. [What If] AIM-7N for SF2

    AIM-7N Sparrow (What If) for SF2, any/all.  What if the nuclear warhead element of the Sparrow X project was carried over to a version of the AIM-7F?
    Installation: Just drop into your mods folder and go fly.  Tested using the F-4T Air Superiority mod by dtmdragon, but should work with any AIM-7-capable aircraft.

  15. PL-17 BVR AAM

    1.Preface
    The specific parameters of this weapon are still extremely mysterious, and very little information has been disclosed to the outside world. Even its actual appearance may be different from the public photos (it is suspected that most of the photos are just inert training version).
    Therefore, part of its performance is purely my guess based on the existing data. Based on the "What if" attribute, I try to make it as close as possible to what it should be.
    The following is quoted from information provided by Wiki, exactly what I used as a reference to fill in the data:
    PL-17 is much larger than other long-range air-to-air missiles, at 6 m (20 ft) long (whereas PL-15, AIM-120 are measured around 4 m (13 ft) long), which contains more solid fuel. The extended length makes the missile unfit for the internal weapons bay of the Chengdu J-20. During the flight, PL-17 would rely on inertial guidance, satellite navigation, and data-link to track targets. During the terminal phase, the missile would turn on its multimode seeker with both active AESA radar and IR-homing to track the target autonomously. The missile features a low-drag profile, and maneuverability is provided by four small control fins and thrust-vectoring engines. The range is reportedly between 300–500 km (190–310 mi) by various media, or 400 km (250 mi) class by Royal United Services Institute with a top speed in excess of Mach 4.  
    2.What's in the mod:
    Actually,it include 2 versions:
    1.PL-17 —— live ammunition,white paint with black identification ring;
    2.PL-17J ——  Inert training version that I made up (because I didn’t know its real type name, I used the initials of the training ammunition in Chinese),blue-green paint, cannot be launched and is only used as a decoration in SF2;
     
    3.Precautions:
    1.Due to the large size of thses 2 missiles, they are usually only available on specific station in specific aircrafts, if you can't find them, it's likely that the station is incompatible;
    2.The last two pictures are in real life for reference.
     
    4.Usage:
    Copy PL-17 and PL-17J folders to your Weapons folder ,then everthing should be fine.

    With the recent trend in the SF2 Screenshots Thread on discussions and displays of "potables", I thought this would be a nice little funny thing to add.
     
    Basicly, I took the 55 gallon Napalm bomb and repainted it to "represent" a kind of beer keg. It is fully "combat ready" and will act and explode just like Napalm. Included is the skin template, for those wanting (or nuts enough) to want to make the labels in any other languages, or for your favorite beer.
     
    As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.

    So, i decided to repaint the KH-15
    and changing up the variety by having a green tinted livery on it
    nonetheless this is a skin file so there wouldn't be any ini or lod files for the missile itself
    do be warned this is my first repaint so constructive criticism is highly appreciated
    with all that said and done i do hope you enjoy the reskin!
