Wrench Posted May 4 Posted May 4 doppy me .. forgot the coordinates .. (you might need to change the path when you've got all the other decals done) [Decal009] MeshName=fuselage_front DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=F-100C/KsANG Position=4.50,-0.45 Rotation=0.0 Scale=3.75 DecalMaxLOD=3 same for the left side. good thing about this is, it's a One Piece decal, and open one more that can be added to Fuselage_front if you need to put the squadron patch on. 1

From a couple of the individuals I spoke with, they believe they took 24 jets, at least 1 was an F Model. So I'm still short 7, but I happy I've been able to ID this many. I'm working on finishing up the tail numbers. 1
CSomers611 Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 I tweaked and resized the tail numbers after updating all I have been able to identify and confirm. I even added another detail to tail # 54-1935. 2
CSomers611 Posted May 4 Author Posted May 4 Added the Kansas outline to a few of the Huns just as the 127th had on their 68-69 Deployment. Was only able to visually identify 1 aircraft by photo/tail number but counted at least 6 tails with this in photos. 3

Would like to offer them soon, since the 127th TFS took at least 1 to Korea and had a couple statewide during Hun operations.

CSomers611 Posted May 5 Author Posted May 5 I'm extremely satisfied with the 127th TFS Camo birds......think they look great! Of course, I had to add something special on the nose of my favorite jet..... 6

(slaps self, demands he gets back to work) Thank you, I appreciate it! I posted my request on the YAP-RW Facebook page yesterday, I included a quick representation of what the 1961 127th Family Model skin might look like. I'll really focus on it once I have temps from you. This was just a quick job to give them something to see. Still haven't gotten a response from them. Edited May 6 by CSomers611
daddyairplanes Posted May 6 Posted May 6 bad news, i cant find my temps. royally irks me as i should have something from doing the all white FSI target tugs. good ish news, i did touch them back up in my ANG pack. insignia on fuselage, touched up markings, i think i made the skins bigger than original and upgraded to jpg the ones that could (not all of the old models can go from bmp to jpg). it also is a blank base skin, with tga unit markings (check out Connecticutt!) still does nothing for the unpainted birds tho i apologize for getting your hopes up. im already helping others with a couple other projects starting tomm. but if you want i'll try to knock out a silver bird in the near future. minor tweak on YAP-RWs silver bird if you need quickly or in depth if you got a little time 1

For templates, you should ask @Sundowner If I´m not wrong he did the original ones for YAP F-100F. 1 1

yakarov79 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Now, I think I have those original templates....will check later I also started a new 4096x4096...But I do not feel the thrill in that for now... 2 1
CSomers611 Posted Monday at 12:47 PM Author Posted Monday at 12:47 PM I took last week away due to a death in the family. I think I've identified as many tail numbers as possible for F-100C's assigned to the 127th TFS during their Hun Days. I believe I am satisfied with the tail marking to include the size of tail numbers, ANG Shield, and tail band. Once the 1965 skin is complete, I will get it all packaged up. 5 1
CSomers611 Posted Friday at 01:16 PM Author Posted Friday at 01:16 PM Thank you to @yakarov79, the 1965 Skin is completed! I need to tweak the tail numbers for it but as a whole this one looks great! Getting close to having everything done. 6

yakarov79 Posted Friday at 07:40 PM Posted Friday at 07:40 PM shouldn't be the one with red swoshes first in 1961, and then US Air Force...Historically, you switched from Air Guard markings to USAF in 1963 or 65?

No, data and pictures for most, if not all of all of the ANG Huns operators received their Huns in Air Force Marking in 1961 and the unit specific markings such as the "red swoosh" came along 1964-65 time frame before going to USAF SEA Camo during the 68 time frame due to mobilizations to support the Active Duty operations. It makes sense considering most aircraft coming from the Active Duty side aren't up to the Air National Guard markings standards till some time after arrival at their squadrons. This was also supported by 184th crew members I spoke with. Edited Friday at 09:16 PM by CSomers611 Corrected Spelling
Flanker562 Posted Friday at 09:27 PM Posted Friday at 09:27 PM Nice work anyway, I'll give it that. 1
CSomers611 Posted Friday at 09:45 PM Author Posted Friday at 09:45 PM (edited) This one is just for me.....I named one of the _68 birds "Ruby" after my Grandmother who passed away while I was working on this package. Thought it was simple and yet elegant, just like her. Edited Friday at 09:45 PM by CSomers611 4
CSomers611 Posted Friday at 10:06 PM Author Posted Friday at 10:06 PM Package is uploaded: 127th TFS F-100C's Please let me know if there's any issues or updates needed. Thanks out to @yakarov79@Wrench@daddyairplanes 1
