I have a lot of different moods.

Right now I'm listening to Celtic, not Celtic Rock, just Celtic.

Later, I might listen to Jethro Tull, Tempest, or Clannad.

Later I might jump to Blues and listen John Lee Hooker or Muddy Waters.

Then again I might try jazz with Weather Report, Spyro Gyro, or Al Di Meola

But I listen to classic rock the most by far.

Even that has moods;

Hippie Mood:

Hot Tuna, Jefferson Airplane, Joni Mitchell, CSN&Y

Funk mood:

Spinners, Temptations, Cold Blood

Good Times Rock:

Doobie Brothers, Bad Company, Montrose, Kansas, Chicago, AC/DC

Progressive Rock (old meaning):

Emerson Lake & Palmer, Yes, Pink Floyd

Head Music:

Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Allman Brothers

More Recent Rock:

Black Crowes, Soundgarden, U2, InXS, Pearl Jam

The list is actually much larger, but you get the idea

But the cream of Fates collection is his Barry Manilow CD's. He even has a few of his shirts he got from him after some concerts.

No, Clash as in Sandinista, as in London Calling, as in the songs White Riot and Tommy Gun, not in the their "sell out" album.

The clash as in this.....

This is The Clash, the only band that counts

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,

Climbing high into the sun;

Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,

At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun hey!)

Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,

Off with one hell of a roar!*

We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!

Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunder,

Sent it high into the blue;

Hands of men blasted the world asunder;

How they lived God only knew! (God only knew then!)

Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquer

Gave us wings, ever to soar!

With scouts before And bombers galore. Hey!

Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Oh I wish I had a gun just like the A-10

I'd be happy as a baby in a playpen

I'd mow 'em down like a weedeater

With that 30 millimeter

I wish I had a gun just like the A-10

I wish I had 8 AMRAAMs like the eagle

I'd be having so much fun it'd be illegal

Like a guy who ain't been laid for months

I'd shoot those f***ers all at once

I wish I had 8 AMRAAMs like the eagle

I wish I had the gas just like a mudhen

To hang around that long is just a sin

And while you RTB and scoff

I'm doing loops and jackin' off

I wish I had the gas just like a mudhen

I wish I had the alpha of a hornet

Living to fight slow when others scorn it

When I can still pitch and roll

That other guy's going out of control

I wish I had the alpha of a hornet

Yeah, all you f***ers wish you flew the Viper

Probably since the time you wore a diaper

We got every mission that you do

And we fly 'em all better than you

Yeah, all you f***ers wish you flew the Viper

'Cause we're single seat, multi-role

We can fly right up our own asshole

Yeah, all you f***ers wish you flew the Viper

where'd you come up with that one? It's funny 'cause it's true!!!

I like to listen to Flight of the Valkyrie while dogfighting. The Prelude to Lohengrin is good too. Also, blurry, waste my hate, and I wanna rock are some good flying songs. I kinda tune out when I'm fighting. the only song I need is while flying is the one played by a J-57 and four 20mm cannons! YEAH!!

wild blue yonder's good too.

I am a Yankee Air Pirate.

With the D.T.s and the bloodshot eyeballs.

My nerves are all rundown from bombing downtown,

from SAM breaks and bad bandit calls.

A Yankee Air Pirate, a Yankee Air Pirate,

A Yankee Air Pirate am I.

A Yankee Air Pirate, a Yankee Air Pirate,

If I don't get my hundred, I'll die.

I've carried iron bombs on the outboards,

Flown high CAP for F one oh thuds.

I've sniveled a counter, or two, once or twice,

and sweated my own rich red blood.

A Yankee Air Pirate, a Yankee Air Pirate,

A Yankee Air Pirate am I.

A Yankee Air Pirate, a Yankee Air Pirate,

If I don't get my hundred, I'll die.

I've been downtown to both bridges,

from Tai Dai, Po Kep and Pho Yen.

And if you ask me, then I'm sure you can see

there ain't no place up there I ain't been.

A Yankee Air Pirate, a Yankee Air Pirate,

A Yankee Air Pirate am I.

A Yankee Air Pirate, a Yankee Air Pirate,

If I don't get my hundred, I'll die.

----------------------------------------------

I'm a Thud Driver,

I love my plane.

It is my body.

I am it's brain.

My Thunderchief loves me.

And I love her too.

But I get the creeps,

with only one seat,

and one engine too.

She's faster than lightening,

it says on her dials.

To get a Thud airborne,

takes only two miles.

She's packed with transistors,

black boxes, diodes.

But stay alert,

because you might get hurt,

when she explodes.

She totes more bombs,

than a B seventeen.

My F one oh five,

has a gun and she's mean.

If I get my hundred,

and I'm still alive,

I'll have no grief,

goodbye Thunderchief,

my F one oh five.

--------------------------------------

Oh lord, I've got tales that I can tell,

Oh lord, what it's like down in hell,

Oh lord, I've got tales that I can tell,

I've got tales that I can tell oh lord.

I know, what it's like to sit and wait,

I know, misery of unknown fate,

Don't know, whether I'll come back today,

I've got tales that I can tell oh lord.

I've seen lonliness, and fear and pain,

I've seen, brave and daring deeds insane,

I've seen, blood flow but not in vain,

I've got tales that I can tell oh lord.

I've felt, pity deep within my heart,

I've seen, mother's sons blown apart,

I've seen, Satan's wicked firey darts,

I've got tales that I can tell oh lord.

I've felt, fire and thunder in the sky,

I've known, men who weren't afraid to die,

I've seen, men take eagle's wings and fly.

I've got tales that I can tell oh lord.

Oh lord, I've got tales that I can tell,

Oh lord, what it's like down in hell,

Oh lord, I've got tales that I can tell,

I've got tales that I can tell oh lord.

Lyrics by Dick Jonas, former Vietnam F-4 fighter pilot, of his album FSH Vol 1.

I hurt myself today

To see if I still feel

I focus on the pain

The only thing that's real

The needle tears a hold

The old familiar sting

Try to kill it all away

But I remember everything

[Chorus:]

What have I become

My sweetest friend

Everyone I know goes away

In the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns

Upon my liar's chair

Full of broken thoughts

I cannot repair

Beneath the stains of time

The feelings disappear

You are someone else

I am still right here

[Chorus:]

What have I become

My ssweetest friend

Everyone I know goes away

In the end

And you could have it all

My empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

If I could start again

A million miles away

I would keep myself

I would find a way

This is the song that will be on my grave......if you only knew........

Actually, it is originally a NIN song, yet even Reznor agreed that Johnny Cash's version was better and more moving than his own.

Didn't know that... :dntknw: But I gave up on NIN a long time ago and their recent albums also turned out to be rather disappointing for me. Not a fan of guys weeping in the mike. Somehow many industrial bands end up like this...

Maybe I'll give a vote for punk (Dead Kennedys)... or metal (Ministry)... or electronic(Coil). But only after I fugure out what on earth The Legendary Pink Dots are.
