+Klavs81 Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 File Name: F-35 Lightning II BETA 1.7 RELEASE File Submitter: Klavs81 File Submitted: 28 Sep 2008 File Updated: 25 Nov 2008 File Category: 4th/5th Generation Fighters F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter for SFP1/WOV/WOE/WOI Version 1.7 With thanks to Dave, JSF Aggie, JAT81500, Amokfloo, and especially FastCargo This is a Beta Release, I have to appologize that I simply don't have the time at present to finish up the cockpit, but I hope to have it finished someday! Meantime, I'm happy with the flight model, radar and weapon delivery, I'm afraid the AI is somewhat lacking when it comes to engaging with AA missiles from the weapons bays. Templates are included, there are no locations for decals at the moment, but I've included aircraft coordinates for those bold enough to try. A few notes about flying the F-35: The F-35 carries 18500 pounds of fuel INTERNALLY, this is as much as an average 4th generation fighter carrying 3 drop tanks! I reccomend setting fuel to 75% or even 50% for most missions as your A2A options will be rather limited with a full belly of fuel. ***The F-35 works fine in WOI, and has some issues on Hard flight model mode in WOE/WOV, I reccomend WOI for all your simming needs, but it does work in older TW games.*** Internal gun: You will need to add this item to your gundata.ini and open and save it with the guneditor: [GunDataxxx] TypeName=25MM_GAU-22/A FullName=GAU-22/A four-barrel 25 mm cannon Caliber=25.000000 ROF=3000.000000 MuzzleVel=1085.000000 AmmoWt=0.180000 WarheadWt=0.018000 Reliability=100.000000 Accuracy=100.000000 AddLight=TRUE MaxLightRange=400.000000 FireColor=0.500000,0.450000,0.320000 GunFireEffect=23mmFireEffect GunFireSound=Vulcan EffectClassName=23mmEffects EffectTime=0.100000 TracerTexture=Tracer.tga TracerSize=0.150000 TracerDistFactor=0.002000 TracerLength=0.015000 MaxVisibleDist=400000.000000 MaxStreakVisibleDist=10000.000000 Please do not release modified files for this aircraft without my written consent, you are welcome to release any skins you like using the included templates. As always, any use of this mod for commercial ventures is strictly prohibited unless included in a future official Thirdwire Release. The creators of this mod are not responsible to any damage to hardware or software as a result of installation. As always: BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!!!!!!!!!! Constructive criticism is always appreciated, but please be nice; I'm emotionally delicate, like a flower. Clear Skies and Check Six! -Adam Burch, 28 September, 2008 5 Oct 08 Update by serverandenforcer, starfigther2, Dave and Jat New AB effects, loadouts changed. (Recommend using the AIM-9X and JDAM's form Bunyaps pack). Small avionicd tweaks. Also added skin package. New FM included. 6 Oct update, added fuel gauge fix and corrected thrusts values. 7 Oct update. Jat added A2G avionics. 25 Nov update. Internal weapon stations slightly tweaked to more realistic limits, .SHD file deleted (not needed for Oct 08 patched installs), and most important, all weapon bays are now fully automatic. Version and readme number updated to Beta 1.7. Done by FastCargo Dave Click here to download this file Quote

Kirsten Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Thanks klavs, wonderfull piece of hardware, looking great. As a non patcher (good old SFP1) I have to run it in the normal flight model but it's doing well there !!!! Aju, Derk Quote
+starfighter2 Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 (edited) I think that we should create contest "Model Of The Year" - and this one (even not 100% finished yet) will be in first five on list  Thx  Edited September 28, 2008 by starfighter2 Quote

Leeloominai Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Keep coming with awesome releases......can't wait to try it..... Quote
serverandenforcer Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 One things for sure, it definately does not like to land nicely. But it definately owns the skies. Flew with a flight of 4 LIIs vs 14 J-10s. Took all the J-10s out wihtout taking a single loss. Quote
+X RAY Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 TY Klavs! Finally i can park without problems in my unpatched WoE!steering wheels isn't mistery!Good trick! Quote

I heartily recommend that everybody flies the F-35 on Normal Flight model, you'll find it floats like a dove on landing once the flaps are down, and turns are a lot nicer. You'll also have no problems with the odd dutch-roll/reversal phenomena. Think of it as "turning your Fly By Wire on" Quote
Avenger Angel Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Very nice Klavs! It's a beautiful model, sinned that the pit is not entirely ended however it is very similar rather identical to that similar to how much it seems they miss they are the superior limbs of the pilot, the pilot's skin (what perhaps I perhaps say I will begin him/it to do me I have the time), and then the various versions that during the time you magic '' genius '' you will create......GREAT & PERFECT MODEL! Spinners Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Klavs made it easy with the OUT file. Quote
+Klavs81 Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Klavs made it easy with the OUT file. Now THAT makes me want to get the B model done! See, this is what I love, people with more talent than me building on what I was too lazy to finish! -A Quote
Canadair Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Very nice work indeed!!! I am banging my head on the cockpit fuel indicator.. anyone made any progress? Quote
tora^2 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 On patched up to the max SFP. Maneuvering at pushing 10K feet is quite slugish. Nonetheless it makes a good AGM/LGB platform and I like the HUD. A good add-on would be a pilot mod with the special HMD system. An FA35B would be easy since they came up with the YAK-141 which is very similar to the FA35B. Quote

Kirsten Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 5 Oct 08 Update by serverandenforcer, starfigther2, Dave and Jat New AB effects, loadouts changed. Small avionics tweaks. Also added skin package. New FM included. Now THAT makes quite a difference !! With the new FM the F35 is now at least on par with a couple of modern Soviet planes instead of being outflown (think the earlier FM was nice enough but maybe a bit too sedate). Nice skins too (including Ravenclaws Tiger - and Lion skins of the KLu) Thanks for the effort everyone !! Aju, Derk Quote
