Falcon F.1 RAF No.1435 Flight, RAF Mt Pleasant, Falkland Islands, 2010

 

Unexpected delays in the Typhoon program and the scheduled retirement of the RAF Tornado ADV F3 led the RAF to follow the Italian Air Force and lease the F-16A Block 15 ADF from the US for the Air Defense role until the Typhoon becomes operational. The F-16 is officially known as the 'Falcon F.1' in RAF service
