+FLOGGER23 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Wishing my best to Spain! are you all ready??? 3 Quote
macelena Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Oh Lord, please don't let us screw up. Amen. That´s all Quote
+Brain32 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I was convinced I was about to watch a football game, not a Japanese comedy show... 2 Quote
MigBuster Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Nice - and Brazil won the opening game - not really a surprise. I think Brazil or Spain as an early prediction Quote
+Brain32 Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Brazil? Are you serious? They can only ride the host-wagon that much... I say Germany and actually if my guys drop out, Germany will be the only reason to continue watching WC for me... Quote
Vavavava Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Watch the tough guys....Watch Greece....where defense means something... :) Quote
macelena Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 They can only ride the host-wagon that much... I would bet they can. After all the crap they´ve endured because of the World Cup, i´m sure as hell it is worth bribing the crap out of whomever may concern. No offence intended. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 I've just seen photos of the Pitch for the England V Italy game tomorrow. The last time I saw a pitch in that condition was England V Germany. Christmas Day 1917. 1 Quote
MigBuster Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 That might be the only thing that could save us - playing in typical pub team conditions! Okay - so did I say Spain?? - the same world champions currently getting stuffed 5-1 by Netherlands 1 Quote
macelena Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 What a shame. The referee looks either retarded or something, but we should have scored another goal before the first Dutch one. From then onwards, the referee and demoralization screwed us well. The Dutch physical condition is awesome, they were everywhere, rough play, but an outstanding game by them Quote
Derk Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 (edited) Spain - Netherlands...: hmm..... . Edited June 14, 2014 by Derk 2 Quote
+Gepard Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Cool game Netherlands! The "best" argument who will be the next world champion i have heared in a comedy show: It will be England! Why? Because history is repeating. In 1966 Real Madrid won the UEFA cup of Champions (today Championsleague). In 2014 too. In 1966 Austria won the Grand Prix de la Eurovision (today European Song Contest). In 2014 too. And In 1966 England won the World Cup. So it will be in 2014. Its logical? 1 Quote
+Brain32 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Don't know but as I'm watching England-Italy...it's a really good game Quote
MigBuster Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Seemed a bit lethargic - frustrating but predictable for us - all the best to Italy And Costa Rica are top of the group! - was hoping they would be beatable! France up tomorrow. Quote
Skyviper Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I'm not too much into soccer but for some reason when I see a game on TV I find myself suddenly cheering for some random team and getting all pissed off when something stupid happens. I've seen some good matches but couldn't tell you who was who. But I'll keep a look out for some the teams you guys have already mentioned. 1 Quote
+Dave Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Well these have been some pretty good matches so far. USA plays tonight. *People if you do not care about the World Cup that is fine, you do not need to get in this thread and say so. This is for the fans. I will delete everything else. Quote
JediMaster Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 So realistically, what's the best finishing spot the US can hope for? I know it's not going to win, of course, but it seems like historically we do pretty lousy. Quote

Actually USA is getting better and better from Cup to Cup it's only a matter of time with a base of 360 million people until USA get's to the top level. Germany starts now and of course I have to go and handle some stufff, geeeeeeeeeeeez, I'll have to listen to it on the car radio if I catch it... Quote

The Dutch physical condition is awesome, they were everywhere, rough play, but an outstanding game by them Things like that happen when players are chosen because they're someone's friends instead of choosing the ones who played better along the season. I mean, 7 players from a team that made an awful season and won absolutly nothing? Seriously? Quote
+Soulfreak Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 So today for us the tournament started too. And it started very well. Looking forward... Quote
+Gepard Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Yep. Portugal was disappointing. A weak opponent. 4:0. Quote
