YF-23A Wizard (Ace Combat Zero)

5a20012b98ef8_YF-23AWizard.JPG.fe0882691a242d61edfae3afeaf32f52.JPG

What is it?

It's a paintscheme for the YF-23A Black Widow of the Osean Air Defence Force, 8th Air Division, 32nd Fighter Squadron, 1st Flight "Wizard", from the game Ace Combat Zero.

The 32nd FS consisting of both "Wizard" and "Sorcerer" flights, were a key frontline Osean Air Defense Force fighter squadron, which commonly fought over The Round Table, formally known as Area B7R.

The squadron had soon became known as the "All Stars of the Round Table" and as the war continued the entire Wizard flight became less and less supportive of the war as well as Osean high command. After the incident which occurred at the Waldreich Mountains on June 6, 1995 in which several nuclear bombs were detonated around the gate to Nord Belka, the Wizard Squadron deserted, disappearing without a trace
They joined the radical terrorist group known as A World With No Boundaries and the Wizard's flight leader is believed to be the founder alongside the alleged head director Anton Kupchenko and Anthony Palmer.

Wizard later reappeared over Air Space B7R to perform their final fight in the Round Table, during the allied "Operation Thunderbolt". They engaged the Ustian 66th Air Force Unit as they were en route to destroy the group main force at Avalon Dam. It is reported that the engagement was fierce, but resulted in the 32nd Squadron being entirely destroyed and disbanded.

I've also included a post-defection paint scheme as I found it weird that the defectors would still be using their own nation's symbols and flags when joining a terrorist organisation dedicated to tearing down borders.

Which addon(s) are required?

View File F-22A Raptor Skin Pack
      F-22A Raptor Skin Pack
      October 13th, 2021 (1st Release)
      by Menrva

      >For Strike Fighters 2 games
This is an extra skin pack for the high quality F-22A Raptor aircraft add-on. Most skins are based on ideas and depictions from other videogames. Here below a list of the included ones:
-YF-22 Paint Scheme (inspired by the real YF-22 prototype)
-Sea Raptor Livery (inspired by the F-22N Sea Raptor concept)
-Saudi Grey Camouflage (as depicted in Digital Image Design's F-22 Total Air War)
-Egyptian Woodland Camouflage (as depicted in Digital Image Design's F-22 Total Air War)
-USAF Pac West Camouflage (as depicted in Digital Image Design's F-22 Total Air War)
-Desert Lightning Camouflage (as depicted in NovaLogic's F-22 Lightning 3)
-Phoenix Livery (from Namco Hometek's Air Combat, as depicted in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown)
-Phoenix Livery, Dark (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat Infinity)
-Scarface One Livery (as depicted in Namco Hometek's Ace Combat 2)
-Z.O.E., Red Livery (from Namco Hometek's Ace Combat 2, as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat Infinity)
-Mobius One, ISAF Livery (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies)
-Abell, Black Livery (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies)
-Razgriz Livery (from Project Aces' Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation)
-Pegas, 3-Tone Blue Camouflage (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation)
-Indigo Wing Livery (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation)
-Gryphus One Livery (from Access Games' Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat Infinity)
-Warwolf Livery (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat: Assault Horizon)
-Mobius One, IUN Livery (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown)
-Trigger Livery (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown)
-JASDF 2-Tone Blue Camouflage (as depicted in Project Aces' Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown)
As a bonus, different aircraft configuration files are included in the "(Alternative Data)" folder. You'll be able to choose between realistic loadouts (default configuration of the aircraft add-on package) and what-if loadouts inspired by the mentioned F-22 videogames of the late 90s, namely weapons included in F-22 Lightning 3. Both configurations are also available with the addition of invisible skids; those will allow you to perform belly landings, which are a feature of good old F-22 Total Air War.
      Notes:
-The B61 tactical nuclear bomb is a retarded version, but drop it safely from high altitude at high speed. Take note that it does not damage the stock Runway object, due to the armor values of it. The B61 is meant to be used against naval fleets you may encounter on some custom terrains.
-You need to tweak the SoundList.ini file in order to fully experience any new sounds. Read "(Add to SoundList)" for further details, and remember to extract the SoundList.ini file from the FlightData.cat archive, if you do not have a custom one in your mod folder already.

      >Credits (in no particular order):
-yakarov79, for his high quality templates which allowed me to easily put some new paint on the aircraft.
-ravenclaw_007, for sharing some of his latest weapon 3d models for the bonus what-if loadouts.
-Astore, for providing me with better Ace Combat themed emblems, and for being one of the few Italian Ace Combat fans like me.
-godrugalultimate, from DeviantArt, for making incredibly detailed Ace Combat themed decals.
-RythusOmega, for providing all Ace Combat 7 emblems and whose skins have been used as reference for the Phoenix liveries.
-Lanzerince, whose Ace Combat 7 skins have been used as reference for the Scarface livery.
-mue, for his LOD Viewer which helped immensely in the making of the skins.
-Blade, for sharing info about the purpose of the game's decal levels.
-My girlfriend, for supporting me in all of my endeavours.

      >Disclaimer:
This is a freeware; yet it can be redistributed ONLY in other CombatACE mods/mod packages.
This mod may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

View File [Fictional] Northrop/McDonnell Douglas F-23J 'Tora'
      Northrop/McDonnell Douglas F-23J for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2
This is a simple mod of Dels' excellent F-23A 'Black Widow' to give a fictional F-23J 'Tora' (Tiger) of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force with markings for the 302nd Hikotai in a retro 'Zero' scheme (suggested by Canadair).

      BACKSTORY
(This backstory was for my Israeli F-23 but explains why the Black Widow ended up in the land of the Rising Sun).
With the success of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom and F-15 Eagle in Heyl HaAvir service the Israeli's were hoping that the Northrop/McDonnell Douglas F-23A 'Black Widow' would win the USAF's ATF competition to continue their relationship with the McDonnell team at St. Louis but unfortunately Lockheed Martin's victory in the ATF competition looked like bringing an end to a long and enduring partnership.
However in a brave move, in May 1991 the Northrop/McDonnell Douglas team secured permission from Congress to actively market the F-23 to (State Department) 'approved' nations and offered a single-seat multi-role
version called the F-23I (International) to Germany, Japan, Israel and the UK. With Germany looking for any excuse to get out of the Eurofighter consortium and facing high reunification costs they persuaded the UK to team up in a combined purchase of 200 F-23I's. In return, this led to the German and UK Governments persuading Northrop/McDonnell Douglas to make BAe and MBB prime sub-contractors for any further export sales.
However, with only 200 F-23I's on order Northrop/McDonnell Douglas were not convinced that it was enough to start a viable programme but the breakthrough came in January 1994 when, due to increasing tensions on the Korean Peninsula, the USAF agreed to purchase 100 F-23A's for PACAF (the air component of United States Pacific Command) and this move finally saw Japan and Israel also join the programme with 100 F-23I's each.

      INSTRUCTIONS
      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-23J folder into your Aircraft folder.
      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-23J folder into your Decals folder.
      That's it!

      CREDITS
As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim.
Massive thanks to Dels for this superb add-on aircraft - one of the very best.
Special thanks to Canadair for suggesting the retro Zero style F-23J.
And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.
