So turns out nothing but scramble works but I think I may be on to why. If a user does not use the default folder locations for user documents including " saved Games " the mod looks for defaults and fails to find the alternate location. Even trying to transfer the mods over to the default C:Users location doesn't work.

To give an example my user documents/saved games are all located on E:\Saved Games but this mod is looking for C:\Users\*user name*\Saved Games and this is creating the crash on load issue.

This is an installation problem. I would uninstall ODS then confirm that your base SF2 runs and operates properly, has all your modded aircraft, missions, etc. Once you do that I would re-install ODS using the defaults by letting ODS detect your installation of SF2 and install accordingly. Check to see if ODS now runs properly. If it does you know your issue is in your paths and installation. You can then uninstall and reinstall, making the necessary changes. Because systems and people set up their machines and installation so differently, we don't offer support in these areas as it's not a game mod issue. Please know we can try to help but it's never going to be specific advice. Be prepared to dig in to resolve this issue.

Erik has some good advice

I run almost all of my mod folders on a seperate drive (D in my case). however, ODS30AE is one of two that i go ahead and populate in my C drive and the classic filepath for SF2. unless your main drive is super tiny (like under 100GB) it may be advisable to do so with this mod.

yes i know its big. but trust me, its not the biggest out there

OK, so I tried reinstalling SF2 complete pack to it's default location of C:\program files x86\Thirdwire\strike fighters 2 and C:\Users\* user *\saved games\thirdwire\Strike Fighters 2, tested it to make sure everything worked and it did. I then proceeded to install ODS30AE leaving all default, went to test mission at defaults and failed to load at 80% again.
I looked into the user\saved games\thirdwire folder to see that the mod makes it's own folder " operationdesertstorm " is that suppose to happen?

Yes, it'll create its own folder, so it stays "pure" while I'm sure you can add planes, it's more or less designed so you have a clean install with all the stuff without bothering your main install of SF2

I get the desktop crash at 80% on carrier missions if I change even 1 item in the loadout. It's a fresh install with no changes, running at 1920 x 1280 resolution. If I take off from a land base, there are no issues. Carrier mission? Cross your fingers. Try as I might, I can't seem to get this one worked out. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Update: Found it. Graphics Settings in a couple of areas were set to "unlimited." Changed them; that fixed it.

Amazing what a little reading (instead of surfing PRON) can do for you.

Thanks for this mod. I only want to show some issue I find with the EA-6B Prowler cockpit. It shows one of the crewman in front of the cockpit. I think it is something wrong with the seat position line.

Anyway, just a small issue, I don't fly often this plane but I wanted to inform.

That's weird, I'll have to double check.

EDIT: @mono27 It pains me to see that there is a mistake, the cockpit.ini file has the position that's used on the A-6E. I focused on fixing so many bugs and this slipped through, argh! Here's the fixed file: EA-6B_ICAP_COCKPIT.INI

@MurmanskPrPr I'm sorry to see you posted a 4-star review for something you couldn't even play. If you need assistance, this is the right place to ask.

The installer of the mod looks for where your games are installed by reading through the registry keys. You need all three Strike Fighters 2 games I mention and those must be installed with their original installers, not manually copied nor moved elsewhere to other folders or drives. If you own all required games and you install them with the official installers by ThirdWire, the installation of the mod should then proceed correctly as intended. Game folders that are manually copied from or moved from where they are originally installed are not supported.

An hot-fix has been uploaded and it requires admins to approve it again. Wait until the mod gets approved again. If you downloaded all four split parts of the ISO of the mod before January 19th/20th, after installation you're advised to manually install the hotfix. If you did not download all parts before the latest reupload, I'm afraid all parts need to be downloaded again, old ones cannot match the checksum of the new split ISO. Apologies for the mix-up and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Very thanks

Thanks Menrva! Don't worry, things like this sometimes happen. The mod is awesome and I enjoy it. :good:

@daddyairplanes yeah I'm aware of him, he's got his own website with reviews to flight sim games and a YT channel. I'm glad he enjoys the mod, indeed it's not from 2008 so I'm glad you corrected him.

Is there a torrent somewhere to download this all at once? I was one of the people who paid for it before it was free. Would be nice to be able to get it on goggle drive or someplace that did not put a high demand on the combat ace servers and was faster.

so I tried the recommendations to use DXVK. I installed vulcan runtime. THe game runs fine stock but does show the built in crap intel card. When  use DXVK it does show my Nvidia 2070RTX but when running ODS it crashed to desktop as soon as I start a mission. Any ideas?
