This aircraft mod represents a fictional evolution/upgrade of the Mikoyan-Gurevich's Ye-8 experimental fighter. There are several wing designs, systems and weapons that were under experiment during the 60-70-s though these are not actual replications of them and the pits are pure fictional using equipment/instruments of that given time frame. This package comes with 1 or 2 skin set for each variant, with decals for Soviet aircraft. This model is meant for SF2 games only. Install is the regular dropping the contents in their respective places. In case you have the previous Ye-8/M pack the contents of the Effects, Decals, Guns and Pilot folders not need to be copied over. Please note: The model might gets heavy on FPS in large formations on weaker machines, so if required, either resize skin files or use lower lod "_nd" as lod1. New weapons are provided - some type specific - beside these the model uses the general Soviet weapons. Be aware - In the 1970's and later when AA-8 can be selected, manually double loadout of these can happen. Make sure to read the manual included with the package. - - - - - Creators of these Aircraft mods as members of CombatAce site: Aircraft 3d work: Logan4 Cockpit 3d work: Logan4 Aircraft FM: Gepard, Cliff7600, Logan4 Aircraft avionics: Cliff7600, logan4 Skin files and decals: Gepard, logan4 Cockpit files: Logan4, Cliff7600 There are certain texture sections that were borrowed from the Su-17 project which were originally created by Stary Thanks for 76.IAP-Blackbird and Flogger23 for the original KS-3 seat and KKR-1 pod, a modified version of them used in the pack. The original flight model was made by Fubar512 but modified by me. It is designed for and works in the SF2 series of games. VERSION NOTES ------------- This package is as close as I could get to representing the F-117A in service with the USAF at the time of Operation Desert Storm. There are some parts which I have compromised the detail on or removed all together in order to achieve an acceptable level of detail without reducing game performance or increasing development time. An example of this is the arrestor hook. The real F-117A has a door that jettisons when the hook is deployed. I have modelled the door to open and close so consequently, the hook is retractable. Animation Key #1 to open/close the refuel door. Animation Key #2 to extend/retract the COMM and NAV antennas. Animation Key #10 to open/close the canopy. Weapon bay doors are automatic on weapon release. Brake chute will only deploy while on the ground, below 100kts and with the airbrake extended. The ejection seat included in this package comes from ravenclaw's ACES II Ejection Seat for A-10 vers. 1.0 so all the credit goes to him. The original package is available for download from: http://combatace.com/files/file/12472-aces-ii-ejection-seat-for-a-10/ INSTALLATION ------------ Very simple, extract the files from the archive to your C:\Users\*NAME*\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 folder. Next, You will need to add the following to your Squadronlist.ini file which should be in your Flight AND Pilot Data folders. This is so the Unit Names show up. (*NOTE* This is not essential). Make sure the XXX is replaced with the next number in sequence in your file: [SquadronXXX] Name=415TFS DisplayName=415th TFS Nightstalkers Nation=USAF The 416th TFS should already be in your Squadronlist.ini, but if not, add the following: [SquadronXXX] Name=416TFS DisplayName=416th TFS Silver Knights Nation=USAF *NOTE* If you do not have a Squadronlist.ini file in your Flight folder you will need to extract it from the MissionData001.CAT file in your Flight folder using the CatPack utility. That's it. You will need Diego's MODUSAF pilot skin for the pilot, or you can use whatever skin you like by editing the F-117A_Data.ini file. REMOVAL ------- Reverse the above steps. CREDITS ------- Aircraft, Cockpit, Skins, Decals and .ini work - Me FM - Fubar512 (with some modifications by me) ACESII Ejection seat - ravenclaw Pilot skin - Old Diego Testing - The ODS team THANKS ------ A MASSIVE thanks to Crusader for all his very useful reference material and support without which this package could not exist! Thanks to all on the forum for their continuing and always useful support. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have had making it. Dels -------------------------------------------------------------

The Su-11 was an upgraded version of the Sukhoi Su-9 ('Fishpot') interceptor, which had been developed in parallel with the OKB's swept wing Su-7 fighter bomber. Recognizing the Su-9's fundamental limitations, Sukhoi began work on the Su-11, which first flew in 1961 as the T-47 prototype. The Su-11 shared the Su-9's delta wing, swept tailplanes and cigar-shaped fuselage, as well as the circular nose intake, but had a longer nose to accommodate the more powerful 'Oryol' (Eagle; NATO reporting name 'Skip Spin') radar set. A more powerful Lyulka AL-7F-1 turbojet was installed, providing 9.8 kN (2,210 lbf) more afterburning thrust for improved climb rate and high-altitude performance (and to compensate for increased weight). The Su-11 can be distinguished from the Su-9 by the external fuel pipes atop the fuselage, aft of the cockpit. The Su-9's beam-riding K-5 missiles were replaced by a pair of R-98 (AA-3 'Anab') weapons, usually one R-98MR semi-active radar homing and one R-98MT infrared guided. Like many interceptors of the period, it had no cannon.
