  1. Thanks JSF... the screenies look really good! (downloading now) And did you say new patch?
  2. Very nice! I especially like the flares
  3. Sorry I'm a little late, just want to congratulate you. One of my friends (also a marine) just got deployed. <S!>
  4. Some say that the F-35 won just because of it's better looks. I'm just amazed the hippo can get off the ground.
  5. I like it! I haven't tried the tiles yet, installing now. IIRC, there's a file called SmokeFX floating around somewhere that has the darker smoke.
  6. I don't think there are any skyscraper models, and like Brain said, if you put them in, it would probably affect game performance greatly unless put in the city tile .tod (?). AFAIK, then you wouldn't have crashable skyscrapers. What I'd reccomend is putting radio towers in clearings of cities and in outlying hills. Much easier to dodge too.
  7. Wow. I am waaaay behind. These are my measly installs: OTC Iran/Iraq Vanilla SFP1 Modded (modern day) SFP1 Vanilla WoV Modded WoV (OTV WIP) YAP That all takes up about 10 gigs. I have to wonder how big some of your HDs are (mine is 150 gigs)
  8. Only BEGINING? Wow you have a long way to go... lol 2 in a roll... with pita bread

    new airliner?

With two times the engine capacity and half the passengers...
  10. Wow. I've been gone for a while and haven't noticed this going on. This is a nice suprise! Thanks!
  11. Perhaps a wise decision: I'll buy a B-52! http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews....ough+NewsNews-2 Reverse Engineering comes to mind
  12. The waypoint sizes are messed up. For every other flight, it has the size at 200, but all the waypoint sizes in Lion flight are 1. I know this can be fixed in KMD, but just in case, just change Waypoint[01].Size=1 the 1 to 200 and you should be set.
  13. Ooh very nice! You've got to switch the checkered pilot. It looks so bad in comparison to the plane! (No offense to TK and his crew)
  14. What's your FPS ingame? Also, try opening the task manager before you exit the mission (pause and ctrl-alt-del) and after you exit the game see what the stats are recorded in under performance.
  15. Very cute kid! Looks like you got hit a few times. If he acted like that in the vid, he was probably screaming with all those SAMs there.
  16. Not political, but still a little OT: Of course, global warming is supposed to happen right before a major ice age... If that happens, oil will be the least of our worries. And what I do to stay green: Um, I wear green on Saint Patrick's day, does that count? Seriously though, here in the Nation's Capitol, public transportation is extensive enough that I don't really drive a car that often, which is a good thing, since a 12 year old car breaking down in our traffic would be a nightmare. And we use electric/hydrogen buses here, so my carbon emissions a virtually limited to my extensive use of AC and my own bodily emissions.
  17. Don't give up! Your Libya campaign had a lot going for it. First off: Which Libya terrain are you using? What tileset does the Libya terrain use? Make sure that all the tiles are .bmps, not .tgas. This will make the editor crash every time. Did the game crash before you fiddled around with the .hfd? Which game are you using?
  18. This bird is one of my favorites. Good job!
  19. Looks good! I love the seventh pic, it looks really realistic. Keep it up!
  20. In the download for the TE, there should be texturelists for the stock maps, for user created maps, you'd probably have to ask the creators. Also, make sure all .tga tiles are converted to .bmps. Gocad is right, the terrain.ini should be in the .cat. And if you're looking for the tiles themselves, they're also in the .cat.

    Newbie

Also, this is possible, but it wouldn't work for virtual aerobatics because of the limited multiplayer. What T-37 model are you talking about? IIRC, the A-Team made one.
  22. I was wondering, with the addition of enabling .tgas to be used on ships in "skins" in Service Pack 4, can we now add carrier lights without editing the model? When DO released his carrier with lights, it was my understanding that they were accomplished by building a .tga of the lights into the carrier, and if you look into the folder, there is a lightmap.tga. I know that you can put this .tga onto other carriers, but how do you make it a light? Do you still need to edit the model to do this? Thanks! OT: And a little heads up... I'm trying to convert a cargo ship/tanker into a carrier.
  23. This has been discussed in great detail at Thirdwire's forums, and from what I read, the autopilot and AI bounce up and down to look lively. If you looked across at your wingman and saw him flying in a straight line, you'd probably think he was asleep. There is a fix at Column5's forums.
  24. In response to Redddevil911's tactic, there is another drawback: Climbing up to 5,000 feet so close to the target provides a good target for flak gunners and also, being upside down looking for the target (for most fighters/bombers) provides a better radar cross-section for SAMs. I'd recommend at least having a wingman with you, if one of you is targeted, jink and let the other go on. Redundancy is good. Depending on the area, like with less SAMs I'd climb up to 5,000 feet before getting close to the target, if in a situation like you mentioned, with lots of AAA hit the deck until getting close to the target. If the flak is pulled out, JINK! Great strategy!
  25. Beat me to it... I got up at 2:00 AM EST this morning to celebrate. Where's the fireworks? Happy Fourth of July (And I think I might be the first American to post here ) HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY... and have a good day, my international friends!
