  10. done...raw 3ds file....and max 2009 file thats right way and a basic smooth. btw most of the free alpha models are mapped....theres probably a paintkit around for it somewhere try alphasim site. Valiant max and 3ds.7z
  11. ahem...in the free 3ds models from Alpha....needs a lot of work...everything is there...gears etc...just needs a lot of polys welding...etc etc....3ds tends to seperate polygons from each other...smoothing reveals how many meshes are intact...a lot are...but some meshes need rejoining....if someone wants a project...im too busy atm...mebbe after xmas This pic after I smoothed out some meshes...and re orientated the model to SF export position.

Just tested the latest FBX SDK...loaded model in max 2016 and 2010...only other versions I have access to....if you export via FBX plugin....SDK detects max version and installs app plugin.. it WILL work in max2009. via import FBX limitations.... 1,helpers turn to boxes.. no biggy 2,animated vertices wont scale no biggy 3,textures dont show in mat editor but they do show if you unwrap a mesh.,so maybe just build model and make basic uvunwrap maps etc.....no biggy adding back to material editor. or just map and add textures in 2009 so far only problems. so , my conclusions... model in max 2016 or so..animate basics or do it in 2009....export via fbx (MUST be version 2009.9) select in drop down for versions.when exporting. animate vertices you need in max 2009...really only needed for drag chutes..(.so not really that bad.) all in all far better visually to model in newer versions.... Give it a try with model you dont want. BEWARE....DONT SAVE MODEL ACCIDENTALLY AND LOSE ANY MAX2009 WORK...i NEARLY DID ..FORGOT THAT IT SAVES FILES IN SAME PLACE IF YOU INSTALA FURTHER VERSION OF 3DSMAX .THANK GOD FOR AUTOSAVE BACKUPS FUNCTION LOL
  14. if he does actually promise to make update with whatever amount is raised,then I will give something,but only if he guarantees we get some update,at least fix gfx shyte ...if not my cash going towards Cod MW (a higher package rather than basic)
  15. 8 days left with just over 2800 dollars so far im pessimistic about donating....looks like its barely going to exceed 3000 and im sure nothing will be updated for that so probably may as well chuck money at something thats deffo happening...
  16. Q. ok Mr Russouk,you are making 10 hi fidelity 3d model aircraft that the community wanted aded for a few years now,how much do you need to raise. A, £20,000 that will cover the cost of my time,making the models,and my graphic artists,time etc, if we dont meet the target then we will still make the update,but not for free... people who donated will receive the update free,otherwise it will be a payed update. Q.. so an update costing £29.99 will be free to those who donated say £100 etc..sounds like a bargain... sound familiar ? I quote " Please note that this campaign is set as "Keep it all", meaning we keep all the contributions even if the funding goal isn't met." Im being skeptical and critical not for fun but because I think TK has shot himself in the foot...if he had kept forums open...answered problems etc...and tried to start a Strike Fighters series fund ,when it was still busy ...he might still be working on the pc version now and not needing us to pay for updates to make the game we bought usable in todays environment in pcs today.

  18. overclocking would not affect the fan the vendor is full of shit....the item didnt do what its designed for,failed so is responsibility of manufacturer...ASUS,as you say were correct...the vendor needs his windows smashed...lol...visit the shop with a house brick at midnight m8 wont get another fan but you will feel better lolz...

  20. m8 how much was involved in making exporter for blender..?...why I ask....out there are people who create exporters,plug ins etc for 3ds max....im going to take an afternoon looking for some forums where maybe can get someone to look at max exporter and see if they can make a new one ...for todays versions of 3ds max maybe 2016 etc..... even if it means offering a few quid\dollars to someone.. cheers m8

If targets not reached...(.pigs will fly,before it is sorry but its reality)....will people get donation back...alsorts been promised before thats no happened....target and timeframe just isnt viable...year or two ago maybe....more people in SF community about then....thats why I aint donating...It was doomed from start im investing in something I know will happen...Call Of Duty Modern Warfare.... If and a big if....if hes short of 50 dollars\pounds one hour from deadline then yes.....I `ll cough up
  22. Agree exporter is top in my list....nothing fancy...same as for max2009 but just modern day...
