  1. True, but at least they wont waste away in some back lot or be chopped up. Think of the FA2s that were at the top of their game and were given up. Imagine if the USMC had stepped up and bought them to suppliment the current AV-8B II+. The article spoke of ripping out the British equipement, but that doesn't make any sense. The GR9s are the most capable ground-attack Harriers, IMO. Their extra hardpoints, plus modern electronics suite. It doesn't make sense to take a step back. Train on that gear and move forward. As for the F/A-18Ds, the USMC should jump on the Super Hornet deal. The F-35B is not a sure thing anymore. They've kept the Deltas limping along waiting on it, but they've run out of time. This is a smart move!
  2. Very nice. I like how you have sinc'd the radio chatter to the sim action. I've been thinking of reinstalling LOMAC for a while now. Maybe this is the nudge I needed. -S
  3. TO: JFC SHAPE FROM: 494 EFS SQUADRON DEPLOYED PER PREVIOUS INSTRUCTIONS. ALL ACFT CODE-1. 6X F-15E LOADED IN DEEP STRIKE CONFIG. REMAINING SIX ACFT LOADED FOR ARMED RECON.
  4. TO: JFC SHAPE FROM: 494th FS SQUADRON OF 12X F-15E, 24 CREWS, PLUS APPLICABLE MX PACKAGE RDY FOR IMMEDIATE DEPLOYMENT TO REGION. CAN BE IN PLACE 12 HOURS FROM NOTICE. PLEASE ADVISE.
  5. Another thing is your OS. I ran SF2 on XP for years. Up to last years round of patch levels. With the new patches, TK added some graphics updates that slowed my game to a slideshow. I bought a whole new rig with Win 7 and better gear. Problem solved.
  6. Depending on the image, I like it. I'd really like to learn to do it also. It's just I usually don't take 4 images of the same thing. Especially if it's moving. Great work Ant.
  7. I'm sick with envy! Lovely work Ant. -Jeff
  8. Nice lighting Eric. IIRC, Stary had a similiar effect a long while ago. But his couldnt be turned on or off. -Jeff
  9. Check the nose gear door. You've got 4 round taxi lights, when the true Vipers only have 2 square ones. Even if you kept the round, the lowest one wouldn't allow the door to close. Also, the blade antenna in the middle of the spine has to go. It would interfere with the A/R receptacle. The aft one is ok. It's there. Nice progress. -S
  10. I'm actually a fan of Nitroplanes and use their gear. I was just curious of you get any feedback or it helps when we click the banners. -Jeff
  11. Because SF2 designed aircraft aren't backwards compatible. Most won't work in SF1. -S
  12. Since this is a relatively small group of people flying this campaign, it doesn't matter much if you rework it. We all know how to tweak the options.ini file to make it 2003-current. But if you think you've done enough editing to warrant the rename, by all means. You're the terrain man. Thanks Kevin! Jeff
  13. 12 O'Clock High <--- the USAF still uses it as a leadership tool. The Dam Busters The Final Countdown <--- The best Tomcat movie! Jet Pilot <--- terrible acting/storyline, but awesome footage of 50's era aircraft Island in the Sky <--- if you love the C-47 I was rather disapointed in "The Blue Max". It went away from the book in a way that made no sense. -S
  14. Missing texture in either the weapon's (fueltank) folder or the actual aircraft folder.
  15. Waiting on permission from Dave and the rest of the group, but I'd like to bring in some 492nd FS F-15Es. Stand by for further words. Nice list. It helps a lot. -Jeff

    Scooters.

You are are very welcome. Again, it was such a treat to see them. This past weekend, I attended the Randolph AFB airshow. We were part of the static display with the tanker. Anyhow, I got the chance to see the Collings Foundation TA-4F and F-4D. Those were so cool and allowed us to sit in them and take a bunch of pics. I'll post them later. But seeing these classics in their element is just a joy. Maj Lee. Yea, the Blues in the A-4 was an awesome show. Less noise, but I thought it was just better. -Jeff
