  1. Looks awesome! Adds life to the "deserted" stock airbases. Thanks.
  2. Excellent Friday treat. Thank you to Ravenclaw and any of his assistants/testers. -S
  3. The Wolfpack were my favorite F-14 squadron. I wasn't a huge fan of the early 1970's schemes, but loved the later 80's jets. Thanks for bringing them back. Maybe the Navy will too. -S
  4. Umm, I don't know if I should be impressed by your Star Trek musical score knowledge, or laugh. ;) Great model though. Storm <--- who does NOT know the difference between the music and what movie/show they actually belong to. P.S. What is the difference in yellow light/blue light in the main body inlet thing? I noticed it changed with different light configurations.
  5. What is the history of these markings? I don't recall them using it prior to Gaddafi.
  6. That is some amazing detail. I looked over some of his other videos also. Even after 10 years off from the hobby, he's did really well. I'd like to learn how to rig some of my kits with lights. Nav, formation, etc.
  7. Thanks ordy. He got the help to get it running eventually. It was a bad download or something. I've moved south to Oklahoma since then and can't drive over anymore to check it out.
  8. Outstanding cockpit shots Dels.
  9. Nice looking jet.

    The Rant

All of my stuff is packed up for the move next week, but I normally use CH Products HOTAS w/rudder pedals. My daughter uses the Saitek X52 set-up and my spare/deployment stick is the Saitek ST290 that I picked up at WalMart back in '07. In reference to the Warthog HOTAS, the same issues were had with the Thrustmaster Cougar. You had to have it modded after you bought it, to get it to work right. Umm...no! Shame that Thrustmaster is still having problems with their gear. It's great looking, sure, but if it doesnt work out of the box, it's no good. Sad that SunCom went under. I loved their F-15E HOTAS. I literally used mine to death. I can't count how many times I swapped out the potentiometers. They wore out quick.
  12. Splendid work as usual Ant! Thanks.

Thanks to the 4 of you for replying. Glad the photos were liked. Seeing classic jets in person is just an awesome treat.
  15. I doubt that Brett would get it anywhere else but from a payware site, but I can't say for certain. But it does make some sense. Still ticks me off not knowing for sure, nor seeing it in action. -S

    Scooters.

Last Friday, while waiting for an 8-ship of F-15s to stop in for gas (they no-showed as usual), we were pleasantly surprised to see a smoky jet coming in on final. I figured it was another of the ATSI TA-4s that have been here, flying chase for the KC-767. Well, as it got closer I saw that the color was much lighter than normal. Then it hit me. It was one of the single seat A-4Ns and not another of the two-seat Scooters. The pilot saw us along the fence catching some pics, so he performed a touch & go. Needless to say, I snapped several photos. Fast forward to yesterday. I spent my lunch hour sitting in my truck watching the usual tankers in the pattern here. Beats answering phones at my desk. Along with local KC-135s, we had a Russian AF Tu-154 depart for the Open Skies treaty. At the same time, one of the KC-767s and it's two companions taxied out for a test mission. For the first time in several years, I was able to capture two A-4s in the same frame. Enjoy!
  17. My buddy recently bought this and called me over to test it out. He was having trouble getting it started up, despite using the manual. Well, I thought it should be a snap after watching a YouTube video on the procedures and having the manual at my disposal. I was wrong. It's about a 6 step process just to get the engines started and rotors turning. There is no option to use the "Shift-E" start-up. Nor is there an easy button to configure it for immediate start, like with the IRIS F-16D. We both spent over an hour clicking switches in sequence, trying to get the engines started. Nothing worked. Our first two attempts failed because we couldnt get one of the servos to come online. Finally we both gave up and in frustration, Brett deleted it completely from his sim. I think he's going to try and get his money back or credit toward something else. On the plus side, the model and detail is amazing. You can tell they spent a lot of time on getting things right. On the down side, it's all controlled from the flight deck. We just couldnt hit some keys and get the lights on or ramp/door to open. I would have liked to try and fly it. I just don't have days to get checked out in the actual CH-53E. -S
  18. Honestly, we should just observe a moment of silence during the day at the times of each crash. All these "ceremonies" will do is give the politicians a chance to get more face time and in some sick ways, money to be made off of this. If small groups wish to have their own private gatherings, do so.
  19. Funny, is that was the only one I've bought. The choices so far, just don't interest me.
  20. Is it the Nimrod AEW with the giant bulb nose? AEW.3 I think it was. -Storm

    Hurricane Irene

The KC-135s from the NJ ANG at McGuire will be evac'd to McConnell tomorrow. Wish we'd get some of the fighters and a bit of the rain. Droughts suck! (Water and photo ops)
  22. As a SrA and SSgt, my family was eligible for WIC assistance. It helped with milk, juice, cereal, etc. I think the article's intended message was that the lower and remaining middle class are becoming poorer and having to ask for more assistance.
  23. Wow, that was one of my first mods for SF1. Nice that it got further help and a proper skin. Crusader, nice pic of the real deal.
