My next terrain project
Wrench replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
the hard part about using the lego style, is getting them to follow the "streets". especially when there's curved ones. For example, look at the massive building blocks on many maps (India/Pak, one of the Euro ones, other I can't remember). They're a nightmare to work with when trying to add 'targetable' items. Below is not the worst, but couldn't find the one with the nicely colored buildings -

Man, been there, done that, got the T-shirt!!! -
Here's another one ... this wanker says he's a "student" (the IP resolves to an Asian country i"ll not name *), and can't afford a subscription. YET ... he's trying to get me to sell him the cockpit from the Su-35. What the fuck is the difference, if you buy a short term access, and trying to bribe an official? I guess that's how they do thing where he's from. Can't afford a sub, but has the game?? Can you say "Pirated" - I knew you could!! The answer is a big fat, definete NO I'm seriously thinking of putting him on moderated posting, pending a ban *= NOT China, elsewhere

And don't forget that mean pepper steak in the Joliet slammer ... curious if the U-505 will be in Chicago, as an Easter Egg (tm) -
Yeah, I should have mentioned there's several versions of the Scorpion out there ...my bad!

I've had a few; even got one today. I tell them politely "NO". And I tell them where to find the "buy a subscription' button. Also remind them that behind the scenes file sharing is a forbidden act, punishable by IP banning. And don't think I won't do it...cause I damn sure will. This is something I KNEW would happen. All that can be done is for us Admins to get them names, warn them ONE TIME only, and them warn the General Membership (tm) about them and the consequenses of actions. Like DA said, there's a lot of whiny little turds on FB, that never contributed in any way, shape or form that act like spoiled brats that we've taken their free candy away. What will these fuckers do, if CA's doors close forever, and all those hundreds of gigs of mod are lost???

I have to agree ... the community as a whole is getting smaller. It was not an easy decision to make; there was much discussion behind the scenes. But we have to live with it. Sorry to say. You all have done a lot of good things. Stick around, maybe things will get better. At the very least, forum discussions can continue!

Yes, Unfortunately, no matter how long you've been a member, ALL downloads are now by subscription only. We didn't want to go this way, but Erik has spent far too much of his own personal funds to keep this place alive. There were/are far too many people with multiple accounts, downloading unlimited files. So, sorry

Same here .. thoughts and prayers. Nothing else matters but your health. You take care of your self, brother!

I think that's part of the fun of terraforming -- using either the free camera and zoom around, or free-fly a mission. Sometimes it's amazing what we can accomplish with this old, creaky terrain engine -

If it's a site or Admin or other issue NOT pertaining to a game, it should be posted in the proper place. We've got a specifiic forum just for website problems: https://combatace.com/forums/forum/4-site-support-bug-reports-suggestions/ Now, things ARE moving a lot slower then we'd like. I think The Boss (Erik) has some Real Life (tm) things he's caught up in. So, please be paitent. You're not the only one! -

View File SF2 North Cape Terrain Revamp (v.2) SF2 North Cape Terrain Revamp 5/15/23 == For SF2, any and all, but designed with SF2:E in mind == *Please note, if you have the original, I suggest backing it up, simply for safety's sake. It will also archive it, for historical purposes.* This is a revamp of the North Cape terrain by Baltika. It has gone through a somewhat large rebuild, mostly to clean up and add "eye candy" to the airports and some of the other military targets. It still remains in the single 'winter' season. Ports have been upgraded with buildings, docked ships and other martime goodies. The movement ini has also been modified, with additional and/or re-routed routes. It should be noted, this is =NOT= a NavalMap, so don't expect any carrier action. Limited Nations is also "TRUE", using the Usual Suspects (tm). I've supplied a great number of GroundObjects, but you'll want to double check them after unzipping, to make sure you have everything before installing. Meaning: not everything has been supplied. Ground defenses (AAA & SAMs) use the generic tags (SAMLauncher, SAMRadar, etc), so there should be no problems with the GameEngine (tm) using what's in you Mods Folders. As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE READ THEM!!! Good Hunting!
