  1. I can't stop laughing!!!
  2. Hey!! I won't be 70 until next April!!! Be Nice!!! Whippersnappers!!!
  3. The Gnat and Ajeet are almost done, and should be released before the end of this month. The "Hot Shots" jet is also nearly done, excepting for some small issues. If resolved, it'll follow shortly after, in the "What If" section. It will NOT be using the movie name, as this IS a Family Site (tm). I named it 'Bulldog' (as they hump everything ala "The Boys") I've been given permission from Torno to look over the Privateer, and make any needed 'fixes' to it. I've been waiting for this navy bomber for YEARS!!! and thank him for releasing it, and allowing me to give it some polish.
  4. OK, I guess I deserved that ....
  5. As you've all guessed by now, I'm doing the 'Hot Shots" jet. Now, it's not going to be like the movie bird; it'll be more realistic(ish). Ya know, carrying real world (tm) weapons, act 'real(ish), and so forth. What I'm having trouble with is creating something similiar to the JL100R rocket pod fuel tank as used on Mirages. I've gone round and round with this for a week now, and it'll either 1) not show up ALL or 2) not have any rockets or fuel IF it show up. (mostly the former) I've cross checked all the names, lods, punctuation, and nothing makes sense. Now, the bird will be carrying Sidewinders for defense/offense, and I just want the RPFT for A-G usage (even though I did build an IR homing A-A version for it, just for grins and giggles). It's not show stopper, but it'd be cool to have the extra firepower (when/if) needed for CAS or Armed REcon or even just shooting stuff on the ground. I've even used the JL100 data ini, and just replaced it's lod with the fuel tank, and nothing. The hardpoints have the call out for the "RPFT", like the Mirages, and ????. So, those knowledegable with some idea I'd reaching out. I'll send what I've got, including the bird and all the bits. TIA! Wrench

Nice, but needs some optimization! 47 megs for EACH skin map is a bit excessive!! I'd suggest converting them to jpgs, and make them a standard size (4096 or so) But it sure is nice to finally have one! I had the pilot's flight manual when I was a teenager. Always liked the look of this "evolved Liberator".
  8. Radar-Aviator, have you modifed the 'end of time' date in you GAME install?? By default ALL the SF2's end in 1982. It will be necessary to extend those years. See here: Other than that, I can't think of anything. Check that the new weapons are actually INSIDE the /Weapons subfolder, and spelled correctly. EDIT: yup, that's what it is. Checking the dates in each weapons data ini, many of them are AFTER the end year of the game. (Bhamos starts in 2000) You'll have to adjust the years like in the link above. You'll probably want to do that for ALL you SF2 installs.
  9. Unfortunately, that's the only place.
  10. Operation Sleepy Weasel is a GO!!!
  11. crappy mapping on the single fuselage mesh, the intakes are VERY hard to find. Also not really going for the 'movie look', but more real(ish) BTW, many moons ago, I was at Clover Park, which is on the north side, near the end of the runway here at Santa Monica Airport. There was this funny little gray jet parked on the ramp. I says to myself "that can't be what I think it is?". Sure enough it was, most easily recoginzed by the "THE NAVY" on the nose. Of course, didn't have a camera (long before smart phones).
  12. WIP (I could NOT resist ...)
  13. May I be one of the first to extend my thanks!! Well done!!!
  14. "Everybody knows that the bird is the word" I LIKE 'em!! Always loved these old Sikorsky's (H-19 & H-34) Don't forget serial number decals! There's a couple of places that should have listings for various units! (I'll have to find the links tomorrow)
  15. what daddyairplanes said. he beat me too it!!
  16. No, it ain't. We've already figured that out. Check the main forums: Experts are, and have been, on the case.
  17. that's definately NOT capun's style of mapping -- most of theirs have a LOT of empty space on texture maps. Safe to say, that's it's most likely not a DAT bird, but the one Jimbib was talking about. If so, then it pretty sure to be OK to release the full mod, in my opinion
  18. IIRC, the Gunny Weapons Pack should (may?) have the practice rounds. I know the old Bunyap pack did, but I don't think it was ever converted to SF2
  19. Another thread hijack (sorry Pete!) Snapper -- why not use the YAP Trojan? I know there's some differences, but it should be close enough and is readily available and (almost) free use.
  20. Just a reminder to the original poster, admitting to piracy is grounds for permanent banning. I'm gonna let you slide on this ONE TIME, because it's obvious you didn't read the member agreement when signing up for Combat Ace. Consider this your warning; I'm not making a mark against you, just a verbal. With that, I'm locking this thread

SF2 DHC-6 Twin Otter Upgrade Pack 5/7/2026 -For SF2, Any and All Another 'Found in the Archives' mod I'd forgotten about!! I'd started this in February 2020, and it must have slipped into a crevasse during a ice quake! This is a upgrade pack for the de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter originally for SF1 by Tracker. THIS version will replace any and all other previous versions of this aircraft mod. It is the complete aircraft, with all sorts of goodies. I've collected all the various skins, revamped the FM (it's now more STOL-ish), refreshed the decals where necessary, and so forth. You'll get a bunch of skins, Argentina: "Antarctic scheme" "LADE" (state run FAA airline/cargo carrier) Canada: RCAF 440 Sqdn, (71-72) RCAF 440 Sqdn (75-80) RCAF 440 Sqdn (1999) Transport Canada (?) Canadian Coast Guard RCAF 440 Sqdn (2018) Generic: "Everywhere Airlines Shuttle" (*tagged "Canada" as home country) All markings are decals for the most part: if not, the "fake insignia trick' has been used to activate the displayed nation name. All serials are historically correct. The 12 EA Shuttle registration numbers ARE historically accurate for Twin Otters used around the world. Decal Randomization is TRUE. As this is more of an 'eye candy' aircraft, there are no hangar or loading screens. There are several animations for the various doors and hatches. They are: Pilot's door: Shift/1 Co-Pilots' door: Shift/2 Luggage Compartment: Shift/4 Passenger Door: Control/O (oh - aka 'bomb bay') It's also set up to drop paratroopers and/or skydivers. The para (single) is included. As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! When possible, all original read me's have been included. Please read the Notes section for any other useless bits of information, and full credits. Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom. Happy Landings! Kevin Stein

  23. AFAIK, there's no way to have a briefing text within the game itself. YAP got around that by having seperate PDF descriptions that you read outside the game.
  24. Yes, Indeed! This is why we have the Screenshots Forum nice pics though!
