  1. Must tanks and other ground units have a single hit zone and consist of one destroyable object? If not, infantry squads could be arranged as a "tank" unit made of several human "turrets" each armed with rifle. Front and sides could fire at ground targets, rear at aircraft. Yet to make it possible the ability to destroy components of a groud unit is necessary. Squad dying all-at-once looks awkward

What if someone hangs an invisible "sattelite" high at the centre of the map, gives it extremely long range of sight and arms with slow-flying unguided SAM missiles with really mighty explosive charge? High rate of fire, not so much ammo. They have to be slow or just inaccurate enough to be avoided with ease. Mission starts - swarms of "ICBM" head towards airbases... Imagine landing That is if missing SAM can actually damage ground objects. I mean, you want to see ICBM where your plane is - why not aim it at the plane?
  3. С ракетами, как и с бомбами - сначала нажать на выбор оружия (вроде \), высветится что выбраны ракеты, потом пускать тем, что отвечает за выстрел выбранным оружием.
  4. Так... проверил сам.. 1. Установил английскую (русской под рукой нет) First Eagles 2. Папки с Ньюпортами кинул в папку Objects\Aircraft 3. папку Weapons кинул просто в Objects 4. Запустил FE. Взял N.17 с двойным Льюисом. Железки стреляют и видны как из кабины так и снаружи. Попробуй переустановить FE и на чистом повторить. Необязательно старый удалять - можно просто другую папку указать инсталлятору и все нормально будет работать (некоторые по пять-шесть копий игры на харде держат с разными модами). Кстати, какая там версия игры? В главном меню в нижнем правом углу светится дата.

The T-4 from Monino air museum is "101" variant, "102" and "103" were disassembled The original name "100" was simply given because the caclulated wieght of the design was about 100 tons. There IS a Su-100 but it's a "self-propelled gun 100(mm caliber)" - a tank destroyer.

  7. А, да, забыл.. Weapons по дефолту в папках FE нет. Но всякие оружейные моды с ней работают успешно. Может Weapons неправильно размещена? Должна быть \Objects\Weapons Внутри кладутся файлы с lod и текстурами. Стрелять-то будет все что в ini прописано, а вот модели как раз могут не проявиться. На родных самолетах FE бомбы, кстати, до сбрасывания в любом случае не видны.

  10. The supply system is interesting... Started second (1973) campaign in one of F-4 squadrons. For the first week or two we had to perform SEAD and CAS with simple bombs and fight with Sparrows that were absolutely unusable at close range. Now we got a bunch of supplies - cluster bombs, gun pods, Mavericks, new Sidewinders and Sparrow E-2 which is more useful but still junk. Too bad 60% of my squadron are either KIA or POW.
  11. R-60 you say... small, destabilised, nasty. Two versions listed and described: original R-60 and R-60M with improved heatseeker (both tracking angle and range. R-60M is all aspect) and stronger explosive charge. There's also UZR-60 for training - has neither wings nor engine but records something. It also can get a lock on target without aircraft actually pointing its nose at it. Gets bearing to target (up to 120 degrees) from plane's radar and/or heat tracker. Has two types of pylons - and I'm pretty happy MiG-21 in WoI don't carry dual ones as the book says in 1982 there were reports of Lebanese R-60 flying right into Israeli exhausts. I'm scared
  12. Doesn't look that big to me Just 3.6m long. Found a pdf-ed Russian book on our A2A missiles. From RS-1U installed on MiG-17 to RS-77 for MiG-31. There's also a similar book on A2G missiles.

  14. Check options - there has to be measurement units setting somewhere - choose English. That'll change units displayed in game's HUD.
  15. First Eagles без экспаншена? Хм.. Самолеты в папке Aircraft, содержимое Weapons скопировано в Weapons игры. А... на экране брифинга перед вылетом, в закладке Loadout (не помню, как перевели - там где вооружение выбирается) - вроде, эти льюисы нужно в меню подвесов выбрать, тогда они на модели появятся.

  20. This afternoon I was sent on Armed Recon in WoI (and barely escaped), so when engine update comes the rest of series might get the feature as well.
  21. eg shadow system is completely redone (first in FE:EP I think) and planes look more 3D than ever. Even smallest surfaces are casting shadows without the need of a special crude shadow LOD.
  22. The review is like an add-on to reviews of previous games in the series I don't play MP and must admit enjoy stock AC a whole lot. AI rocks, campaigns are never boring. Already bought WoE and WoV and now wait for engine update. Ain't it a sign of a great game Don't care much for 100% detailed simulation as it turns a game into a job...
