Just for fun, If you could combine two or three games to have what you would call your "ULTIMATE" PC game....what would they be? They don't both have to be simulations... They could be an up and coming game...like LOMAC or HL2 ooooohhhh....scarry... Lock-On Meets Half-Life 2 that would be scary! I'm remembering the old Miller commercials where you wanted to watch the NHRA Nationals and your wife wanted to watch the Dog Show....and in the process of fighting over the remote...you wound up watching the "Weiner Dog Nationals" Anyway...have fun with it... I'll start off with mine: DoomIII meets America's Army Fates

Abraxas Posted: 2003-07-23 23:10:36 We have frozen the code and all art assets. V1.9 is now in the final phases of testing. While I still cannot tell you a date (since testers could yet discover some fatal flaw), I will tell you that 1.9 is almost in the can. _________________ Abraxas Executive Producer/Director America's Army

Got this sim today...
Fates replied to Hogpen13's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Paitence Dice..... There is just so much potential here that this sim will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Patch 2 has been in the works for months, and TK's and the Dev team are almost there. The mods are what's keeping the interest up until what I call P-Day (Patch Day). There have been 10+ new aircraft with more one the way. I can't count the skins that have been made, and the missions and all have just been excellent. Getting this all wrapped up into a decent multiplayer will make this a regular nightly fly for many folks. Cheers! Fates -

Put the RADAR mode toggle on your joystick. That will allow you to toggle from Boresite to Ground Radar to Search Radar while flying. It's important when flying bombing missions where you may have to break off to attack and aircraft on the way to the target. There are others things like Boresite that will help as well. I put the command to "SELECT NEAREST TARGET" and things like that on my joystick to cycles thru all the targets around me...Friend or Foe. By doing this, I gain a bettter situational awareness of what's around me...becasue it too hard to see visually. Fates -
The last I remember, the skins were 512x512 BMPs. I was not aware of the resizing issue...but I've been outta it for awhile and SP9 may have changed some things. I would make sure that all the files are appropriately named. In the process of renaming them, do you accidentally change it from a BMP to a JPG...that would do it. Just a few thought...and a direction to start. Fates

BP_Moscow, Patch 2 is still in the works, and TK is trying to solve ALL The issues that everyone has to the best of his ability. There is a new Graphics Engine being tested currently that addresses the ATI issues. The results have been very pleasing. Work diligently continues to bring you the best product posible. Don't loose faith. FatesODB -
I'm sure we'll have clips to the upcoming movie "COWBOY" posted as well. Dayton plans on breaking the records with it's use of PYROS, so hey guys...this is gonna be good. If your looking to meet up, give us a shout! I'll be the tall guy in the "FATES" hat.

Honor is a point system in AAO. It's reflective of many things in AA. You get honor from : Kills Leadership Winning a Match Winning a Round Achieving an Objective You can get more points if you are a LEADER that completes an OBJECTIVE and wins the ROUND. Thus, combinations of the above increase Honor POINTS by multipliers. I think it is roughly 1000 Honor Points per Honor Level. You start out at Honor=10, and you can loose honor by commiting ROE (Rules of Engagement) violations. Ie...Shooting a Team Member..Destroying an Objective...etc...etc... We have 2 Beta-Testers with the ODB's and we'd be more then happy to guide you thru all the great features of AAO and it's upcoming release V1.9. There is a great site out there that will allow you to TRACK you stats so you can have a better understanding of where your character/Team stands in the scheme of things. You can visit our TEAM site at: www.TeamODB.com/combat Just click on the AAO TRACKER button to see what I mean. <C> Fates

please i want to know...
Fates replied to i_m_rommer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The Key words are "MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS"....and you see it on every box, thus it's in the FAQ. You have to set a baseline. The UNKNOWN at this time is "RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS" as they tweak the beta and optimize it for what's on the market today. Fates -

Fates replied to i_m_rommer's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I don'tthink you'll much problem at all running the game. You MAY have to turn some effect down (SLIGHTLY), and you may need to turn mirrors off, but you system will be fine. The truth is that no-one knows. Fates -
Future Of SF
Fates replied to ext's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
OK, /soapbox on Everyone one of ya got some things correct and some things incorrect. The one thing that everyone so far has agreed to is that they will still look foward to playing the game. Seawolf, I completely disagree with "its been over a year since the Gold release" IMHO TK was forced by contract to put out an unfinished project. TK also takes alot of pride in his work. Thus you can only imagine that he was about as fumed about the whole situation as all of you are now. The Unfinished project IMO was not truely a GOLD but a Beta. If we assume it was a beta, then maybe Patch 1 ws the "GOLD", in which case Patch 2 is really patch 1, etc...etc... Please be patient...testing continues, and it continues because there doesn't need to be a single pilot crying about "When's the next patch coming out?" Dagger, I also disagree with "OK...so we loose a few Modders" IMHO The Modders are what make the game. Without them the game will die a quick death. They are the reason TK designed the game as he did. FS2002 is a boring sim IMO...but the Mods turn it into a great sim. Loosing any modder that has developed so much and inspired so many is a great loss... I'd rather say CYA to a whole lot of others then modders. I would like to see more information released just as much as the next guy, but..... Do we want to see eyeball candy and false hopes of a campaign engine like we have from LOMAC since 2001? I didn't think so. I'm also sorry that everyone paid for such a great game that hasn't performed as advertised. However, I do believe TK is making every effort to get this patch out for your enjoyment. With Enjoyment being the key word. No Crying, No Griping, just a satisfied customer that can understand what hard work has went in to a sim created by so few to put smiles on so many. /soapbox off Fates
