  1. What CAF did with it's MiG's was barely an upgrade lol, it just got new GPS, communication devices and stuff like that merely to enable them for joint practice with NATO(USAF/USN) forces, other than that is't just plain ol' bis We are picking new plane this year :yes:

MiG-21 rocks, especially Mirage Factory MIG-21F-13 in early 60's now in WOI where that early crap Sparrow's are not Godlike MiG-21 "likes" tight close-in dogfights, but as soon as you see F-4's going full burner do the same....but in opposite direction Anyway, one can handle anything from the 60's, even early 70's with this baby, but later on the things get much tougher...as they should...
  5. This is quite interesting, I find WOI to finally be more suitable for modern(ish) missile combat as missiles are not ridiculously effective anymore... I think I should test more, I was trapped in my MirageIII for too long it seems

  9. Other terrains, either stock or 3rd party work normally in WOI, if you have same settings as in WOE ofcourse. The Israel terrain is simply more demanding, more objects, new terain effect, it will impact the frame rates on not so stellar machines. As for the brand new super ass kicking machines as FalconCAF's, well there's obviously some kind of problem with shadows. I have AMD AthlonXP Mobile 2500+ OC'ed @2.2GHz, 1GB DDR and GF6800(vanilla but OC'ed) As you can see it's pre-historic, some younger members here probably think Hitler played Quake2 on such system in 1943, however I can run WoI at 1024x768(17" monitor), 4xAA, 2xAF, all options on high except visibility distance, and ofcourse shadows, mirrors and reflections turned off So OK, on some quite rare occasions fps drop to like 17 but they are mostly around 30-35, I'm happy with it, but yes I will upgrade my computer soon
  10. Also the IsraelME terrain is much more demanding than previous terains, the solid and alpha object is pumped up extremely, you can see much more objects than you could in WOE for example. Also there is a new effect called Farterraineffect.fx, that baby does not help fps either I edited the terrain DATA.ini a bit, downgraded it to WOE levels and it seems I got a fps improvement out of it, but I doubt that would help you guys with 2GB RAM and modern gfx cards...
  11. I have F-15C/D/E/K/I/J/ACTIVE + stock ones and since I got this game there wasn't a single day I played but didn't use atleast one F-15 So, yeah I kinda like 'em...
  12. Yes it means exactly "New Plane". Anyway considering the finantial state of Yu in those times, I doubt it would happen even if there was no war/separation of Yu... But the model does look pretty :yes:

Ok here is what I tried so far: Kfir C7 - missing some stuff in the cockpit, FM great I made nearly indentical spin with stock C2 F/A-18A - no graphics anomalies, can pull about 20G's and is very sensitive in pitch(hard not to black out) F-15C MSIP update - WF - works flawlessly F-22A - WF F-16A ADF - WF MiG-21MF cockpit - WF Su-27 -WF(just weapons missing) Will try some more EDIT: C-130J - WF AV-8C - WF except rather strong roll to left A-10-Modern(from A-10 pack here) - WF missing tracers and smoke effect for GAU-8 MiG-31 FireFox - don't touch the burners you will glide very soon F-5E - WF, interesting behaviour at low speed very cool Kestrel - WF Su-15TM - WF It seems to me that all the stuff generally works pretty well

  19. Hehe, thx As for the patience it's really a non issue for me, I see where did things go wrong and if it pokes my eye too I write it down for future correction, if I consider it too minor to be bothered with...ah well we have an old saying in Croatia: "in on one ear, out on the other"

Yup those roads are a pain to align, I don't know how I didn't notice that before, thx for reporting it will be fixed 2. Airbase tiles don't exist on GermanyCE tileset, they are instead placed on huge green areas, since thousands square miles of nothing but low green grass do not exist in Germany(don't know how did TK's terrain guys come up with that ) I had to make a compromise, fixing it would require hand tiling of every airfield, on my list but no promises 3. Yes I noticed that too, however target placement is my red line, sorry guys... 4. As for the river colour, I didn't made up the colour, it's a photo, generally clean rivers on a clear sunny day will appear blue, as all water does. All in all if you set mission weather during the middle of the day and sunny, colour is correct, evenings and early mornings especially cloudy or with rain, colour is not correct. I generally got tired of hangover gone bad river colours so I made it this way 5. Ok, but all questions and comments should go to CA_Stary as he did the trees, and I just included them in unchanged state 6. Maybe but I like it this way, not every road looks like a Versailles parks and driveways :) 7. I agree with you completely, but this is pretty much game limitation, while down low things will look better without those shadows, when you go just a bit higher on some mid altitude, the terrain will look highly artifical and maybe the proper word is cartoonish. Possibly a matter of taste Oh and there are some cows, you guys just need to look harder

    *****GermanyCE Terrain Tiles REPAINT v1.0***** by Brain32 Terrain objects, trees and houses by CA_Stary 1.Requirements - Wings Over Europe are required in order for this mod to work!!! 2. Installation. Un-ZiP "GermanyCE" folder into terrain folder(X:\....\Wings Over Europe\Terrain) of your Wings Over Vietnam installation. As before with my VietnamSEA repaint I offer trees and objects in separate folder to enable simpler instalation for users that either don't want it or can't take the performance hit :) To install the trees and objects, simply copy all the files from "Objects" folder to x:\...\Wings Over Europe\Terrain\GermanyCE. 2. Overview. The tiles are made with help of satelite imagery taken mostly from central - west Germany, mountain tiles were taken from Alps area, and shoreline tiles...well, from German coast lol. Nothing was hand drawn, all those shapes exist in nature but were violently connected together so they fit... 3. Known issues First ofcourse it will have some errors, however the number of those is on par with default terrain if not even better, if however you do find some eye-poking errors please report them with a small image in file announcment thread. Again same as with VietnamSEA, I didn't work much with the cities, you will notice some improvement in transition city texture but nothing dramatic, it is planned for future update though I simply didn't have time for it now and didn't want a completely functional mod sit on my HDD for maybe months at 99% completition 4. Did I forgot something? I sure hope not...
