I must fill water in your wine. The aircraft shape of the bird you used is an early MiG-29K from the late 80th. Not the MiG-35. The MiG-35 has always a big "two seater" canopy. Even the single seater MiG-35 has this big canopy, the place of the second seat is used for fuel or additional electronics. The MiG-35 has no hook. It is not intendet for carrier operations. The emergency landing procedures for eastern planes are different from western land based planes. While NATO ground based planes are using cable systems to prevent an overrolling the runway, the eastern system is basing on a net, similar to US carrier net barriers for emergency. The flaps of the MiG-35 are much bigger. They are the same as in the MiG-29K for India. The same with the airbrake. The air intake protection system of the MiG-35 is similar to the Su-27 family. Auxilary air intake on the upper strakes are not longer available. At this place a fuel tank is installed.

At the moment the "bad russian bear" is walking through all newspapers and TV news. Theresa May has a problem with the Brexit, the russians are to blame. A british hacker attacked the german Telekom, the russians are to blame. Russian planes are flying in international space over the Baltic Sea from St.Petersburg to Kaliningrad, the russians are to blame. Its snows like the hell in Germany today, the russians are to blame. Do you really believe, that Putin placed special agents in every polling booth in the USA to force the poor american voter to make his cross for Donald T.? If our beloved peace nobel price laureat Barrack B. and his smart and peacefull Hillary C. would not have sent strong forces to the russian border, the russian bear would behave in an other way. How to call into the forest, it comes out. Our western propaganda is as bad as the russian propaganda. Both is stupid. We should ask the old question: Who benefits? And i think the answer we would not love.

Interesting post about USAFE in 1983
Gepard replied to Stratos's topic in Military and General Aviation
The estimated loss rate for a WW3 scenario in Central Europe in early/mid 80th was around 80% per mission. The lifetime of tanks was calculated in less than one hour after entering battle. The area would have been full of Flak and SAM. Ground targets would have been mixed with lots of decoys. Do you remember the Kosovo war 1999? NATO stated to have killed hundreds of serbian tanks. After the war only 13 destroyed tanks were found, but hundrets of destroyed decoys. Here decoys of the NVA (east german army) BTR-60 decoy Torpedo boat Type KTS decoy Cheap and easy to build. From fast moving plane difficult to distinguish from real object. The only task of the decoys was to lure out the enemy to fire cost intensive precision weapons. A LGB costs perhaps 10.000 US$ in the late 80th. A decoy less that 100 $. I think we had more decoys, than the NATO had missiles. -
Sukhoi's Spanish Sword
Gepard replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I would think, that a commie Spain would use the markings of the Republic during Civil War 1936 - 39. Perhaps in the style of the I-16 Mosca (called Rata by the fascist forces). Red fast ID markings and the flag of the spanish republic on the siderudder. -
Sukhoi's Spanish Sword
Gepard replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
If so, the skin must be changed. The black cross on white field was a fast ID marking for Franco planes. A commie Spain would have never used it. Instead a red, yellow, lilac flag on the tail. -
A plane like the F-20 as export fighter for countries with low defence budget would have been great. Not only for third world countries, i think on Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Bulgaria, Hungary, the baltic states and Germany too.

YAK - 130
Gepard replied to RUSTYMORLEY's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
There is no Yak-130 available. A plane with similar design would be the chinese L-15. -

mi-24 helo main rotor
Gepard replied to UllyB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It has something to do with the lenght of the rotor, which you find in the mi-24_data.ini. IIRC you must shorten it a little bit. Or was it lenghten it? Play with the values, it should solve the problem.
