An interessting fact, i have heard today in the serious german newsradio Deutschlandfunk, was the statement, that a ukrainian IL-76 transportplane was flying "near" the shot down 777. the "near" means some km distance, like usual in civil traffic. It was believed, that this plane was the intended target and the SAM crew accidently fired on the malaysian plane.

How about this: MiG-21KMT Gorbaty Kit (humpback whale) New parts made by Spillone. Its only an idea, so far. My flighttests are not running well. I have still problems with AI landings on carrier with low fuel status. The planes tend to run over the deck and crash into the sea. Dont know why. With high fuel status no AI landing problems appear.

I agree with you. The east ukrainian airspace should have been closed some weeks ago for civil traffic.

An other idea would be that the Ukraine could have sold the unfinished Varyag to Germany instead to China. The Varyag rebuilt got the project name "Ändschi Em" and was finished in a german Shipyard. After the win of the football worldcup it was christened into "Jogi Löw".

What a ugly plane!

The international air corridor over the Ukraine is still open. All international airlines used it up today for their routes from Europe to South East Asia. And it was believed to be safe, because the pro russian rebels had no weapons to harm a plane in 10.000 meters. They have Strelas and Iglas which can reach 2 or 3 km maximum and which are used to down some ukrainian planes. News tell us, that the plan was shot down by a BuK SAM system. Its the question who fired the missile on the Malaysian flight. The ukrainian president says it were not the ukrainian armed forces. The russians say, they have no BUK in this area. Whom you can believe? I dont know. I only can remember that some years ago a training shot of S-200 Vega accidently downed a airliner over the Black Sea. Perhaps something like these could happen again.

But the idea with the carrier would be great. Perhaps a german version of the Charles de Gaulle with the Name "Seeadler".

The german team came home today and got a big "Welcome party" in Berlin with a half million fans. Lufthansa made a special paint scheme for the plane which ferried the german team home. The name of this skin is "Siegerflieger" what means "Victoryflyer" of "Victorflyer". The Lufthansa themself choosed a new name "Fanhansa" The plane awaits the team in Brazil. The take off was delayed for 2 hours because the the driver of a luggage delivery car collided with the plane. The flyby of the Siegerflieger over the "Fanmeile" in Berlin. The plane made a wingshake to send greetings to the fans. After the landing in Berlin Tegel the pilot raised the german flag.

History: The combat experiences in Vietnam showed, that the RP-21 radar of the MiG-21PF generation was not really satisfying. Perhaps the one or the other has heared, that i'm working on a fictive MiG-21K carrierborne fighter. While testflying this bird i faced a problem that drives me creasy: If a squadron comes home from a mission and the fuel level is low, the AI is very often unable to land the planes on the carrier. They dont hit the area of the arrestor cables, run over the deck and drop into the sea. With full or nearly full fuel level it never happend. For comparision tests, i tried it with the A-7 and got the same result. A half squadron missed the cables and run over the deck. Has someone an idea?

The weakpoint of the PF was the missing gun. With gun this bird is great. Fast accellerating, agile, good climb rate. The later M had the same engine, but weighted one ton more. Even with R-13 engine, the MiG-21MF or SM was not really agile. Only the MiG-21bis came close to the PF performance. For the K i used the PF as base, because i focused on agility. The bigger fuel load of the S, SM or SMT (M,MF) and bis is on the K compensated by the air to air refuel capacity. And by the way, the RP-21 radar was more or less crap, rubbish. Very often the pilots detected a target with their eyes earlier than with the RP-21. So the MiG-21DF was developed an tested in end 60th or early 70ths. DF stands for dalnometer forzash (or was is dalnomer?), what meant MiG-21 with Rangefinder and stronger engine. I found out who was the creator of the additionally wingpylons. It was Spillone. And the pylons were used on Paulopanz Type77 MiG-21 mod.

The best WW2 flightsim is the old and outdated European Air War.

Its my idea. I think it looks cool. Its the same like the canards on the modernized Mirage III and 5 or the Kfir. Wrench, thanks for correcting me. I will try to find the developer of the pylons. Could be Spillone.

Its TKs stock 3d model. The canards and refuel probe are from Alejandro and the additionally wing pylon is made by Wrench.

TFSC ist der Treibstoffverbrauch. Ich habe dazu folgendes gefunden: TSFCM0= TSFCM1= AfterburnerTSFC= Total Specific Fuel Consumption at Idle power (entry 0), full Dry power (entry 1) and full afterburner power. Decreasing the values makes an engine more fuel efficient, incresing them makes it less efficient. MinFuelFlow= The engines minimum fuel flow at idle, I blieve this is in kilograms per minute. Fuel consumption never drops below this value. Ich würde sagen, daß du bei den fake engines einfach den Spritverbrauch auf 0 setzt und fertig ist die Laube. Für den Fall, daß das nicht klappt, dann nimm einen Wert 0,01 oder so.

I would like to see Germany vs Nederlands in final. But i fear it will be Brazil vs Argentina.
