Ich glaube der eine oder andere von Euch wird es aus den Medien mitbekommen haben: in den südlichen Regionen Ostdeutschalnds brodelt es. Ich kann und will nicht gutheißen, was hier, quasi vor meiner Haustür passiert. Ich kann aber verstehen, warum es passiert und warum es gerade hier im Süden Ostdeutschlands passiert. Die Menschen haben es satt. Sie haben es satt von Oben belogen zu werden. Sie haben es satt für dumm verkauft zu werden. Es ist für sie wie ein Deja vu. Denn so etwas hatten wir bereits einmal. Damals gab es eine Partei, die den Anspruch erhob immer Recht zu haben. Und wer dagegen aufmuckte bekam den obergroben Hammer zu spüren. Heute gibt es keine allmächtige Partei mehr. Gott sei Dank. Aber es gibt einen allmächtigen Mainstream. Und der besagt: "Alle Ausländer sind gut! Nur wir Deutschen sind schlecht." Und wer etwas gegenteiliges sagt ist ein Nazi. So einfach ist das heutzutage. Und damit bin ich bei Pegida. Weiß jemand von Euch, warum Pegida entstand? Nun die Geschichte geht so: Hier im Süden Ostdeutschlands ist es Brauch, dass Politiker und Verwaltungen von oben herab über die Köpfe der Menschen hinweg bestimmen. Es wird durchregiert und oftmals ohne Sinn und Fachverstand. Und die Leute haben sich das ein Vierteljahrhundert gefallen lassen. Wir haben die höchsten Straßenausbaubeiträge, die höchsten Abwassergebühren, die teuerste Müllentsorgung. Selbst für das Regenwasser was auf unsere Dächer fällt müssen wir bezahlen. Hätte sich Honecker so einen Quatsch erlaubt, dann hätte man ihn 89 an der nächsten Laterne aufgehängt. Aber heutzutage ist so was Gang und Gäbe. Es war im letzten Herbst, als es einigen Politikern und Verwaltungsbeamten in den Kopf kam ein paar neue Asylbewerbeheime einzurichten. Dagegen ist ja nichts zu sagen, wenn es denn richtig gemacht wird. Aber dazu die Verwaltunghier nicht fähig. Man nahm sich alte Schulen, machte eine Kurzsanierung und innerhalb von 3, 4 Wochen war das Asylbewerberheim bezugsfertig. Die Leute vor Ort wurden mit einem lapidaren Dreizeiler informiert. Kein Wunder, dass es zu Unmutsäußerungen kam. Erst wurde die Schule leergezogen, dann verschwand der Polizeiposten aus dem Ort, dann kamen die Asylbewerber. Wenn sich nun genügend Leute um die Asylbewerber kümmern würden, dann wäre die Lage erträglich. Aber in Sachsen kümmert sich ein (1) Beamter um zweihundert (200) Asylbewerber. So steht es im Gesetz. In der Praxis beträgt das Verhältnis eher 1: 350 oder noch schlimmer. Im Ergebnis haben die Asylbewerber keine Ahnung wie sie sich hier verhalten sollen. Sie sprechen unsere Sprache nicht. Kennen weder unsere Sitten und Gebräuche und schon gar nicht unsere Gesetze. Und dann benehmen sie sich wie sie es aus ihrer Heimat gewohnt sind. Tja und genau hier liegt der Hase im Pfeffer. Wir Deutsche, zumindest in meiner Gegend, lieben nunmal Recht und Ordnung. Wenn ein Fremder der Meinung ist, er könne einfach so in einen Vorgarten schei..ßen oder sich im Obstgarten bedienen, oder mitten im dichtesten Verkehr bei Rot quer über eine Ampelkreuzung latschen, dann kommt das hier nicht gut an. Es kommt auch nicht wirklich gut an, wenn ein dunkelhäutiger Mann ein 13 jähriges blondes Mädchen auf offener Straße anspricht, anzügliche Gesten macht und "Wollen ficken!" sagt. Es kommt auch nicht gut an, wenn der Vater eines kleinen arabischen Jungen im Kindergarten von den Kindergärtnerinnen verlangt sich zu verschleiern, damit sein Sohn nicht von ihren Aussehen beleidigt wird. Es kommt auch nicht gut an, wenn in Leipzig zwei ausländische Familien mit Messern aufeinander losgehen. Oder in Suhl ein Ausländerwohnheim von seinen Bewohnern zerlegt wird. Und es kommt überhaupt nicht gut an, wenn in der überregionalen Presse in großer Aufmachung berichtet wird, Ausländerfeinde hätten in Dresden einen Asylbewerber niedergestochen und danach 13.000 Gutmenschen auf die Straße getrommelt werden um dagegen zu demonstrieren. Und besonders ärgerlich wird die Sache, wenn dieselben Medien ein paar Tage später kein Wort über das Ergebnis der polizeilichen Ermittlungen verkünden, nämlich, dass der Mörder des einen Asylbewerbers ein anderer Asylbewerber gewesen ist. Der Schritt zum Vorwurf der "Lügenpresse" ist nachvollziehbar. Es kommt auch nicht gut an, wenn allenorten Asylbewerberheime aus dem Boden sprießen, sich ein paar Leute eine goldene Nase daran verdienen und die Probleme vor Ort von Politik und Verwaltung ignoriert werden. Turnhallen werden in Beschlag genommen, Sportvereine werden vor die Tür gesetzt, der Sportunterricht findet nur noch im Freien statt, die Trainerausbildung kommt in Leipzig zum erliegen und und und. Überall zeigt sich wie unfähig und überfordert "die da Oben" sind. Und so ist es momentan für die Rattenfänger sehr einfach, denn der Volkszorn auf "die da Oben" ist vorhanden. Er wird aber ganz geschickt auf die Asylbewerber gelenkt. Und mal ganz ehrlich, so wie ich die Lage einschätze, wird es langsam explosiv. Ich hoffe, dass alles glimpflich ausgehen wird. Aber wirklich hoffnungsvoll bin ich nicht.

I have problems to bring the Vogesen terrain in SF2 too. Got always a CTD.

You ask a good question. I have this mod not anymore on my computer. It is on a laptop of my son. Hopefully. I can check it tomorrow. If i remember correctly then i made this mod for the Vogesen terrain, which used the stock tiles of FE plus some (2 or 3) new tiles for the River Rhine. If you download a Jan Tuma tileset the mode should run, but the tiles, where the Rhine is rituated would be white. But i think, there was a fix for that problem. Someone had made the missing tiles, so that the Jan Tuma tilesets would fit in Vogesen terrain.

I used FE as basic game, because the tile size of the terrain is only 500x500 meters. In SF world the tilesize is 2000x2000 meters. In a firefighter mod you will fly very often very low and the better resolution of the FE terrain makes a much better look. Here an example what i mean: This is the Vogesen terrain for FE with a tileset made by Jan Tuma. I believe that it looks much better than a SF2 terrain could be. The fire and water effects are included in the terrain. But i dont know wheter they work with SF2. An SF2 version of the Z-37 i also never made. The flight model was made for FE, thatswhy it could behave a little bit different in a SF2 world.

I wrote this mod for FE. Dont know, wheter it would run with FE2, but i guess it would. It includes the czech Z-37 agricultural plane in the role as firefighter. And i know from other projects like the never released "Heliland" that helicopters are possible in an FE based game. I had the AH-1 and the Mi-24 there and if this bumblebees could fly there, then a UH-1 firefighter would do it too. If i remember correctly i modded a cluster bomb to a water release (is it the correct english term? maybe waterdrop?). So the helicopter would need only a weaponstation in the data.ini with the possibility to carry a cluster bomb. No problem so far. Wheter a "invisible" airfield on a lake would be possible in FE, i dont know. Have never tested it. Give it a try. My civilian mod used the Vogesen terrain, the mountain region in France west of the Rhine Valley. I guess you would need a more "american" terrain like California. But i dont know, wheter such a terrain exist and if so, wheter it would run on First Eagles or First Eagles 2.

Remember till this time french armies fought their wars on foreign territories. It was quiet normal for them to march into the Netherlands, Belgium or the german kingdoms to fight there. And the french imperator Napoleon III wanted to follow this doctrin. Bismarcks fake of the "Emser Depesche" was the answer to a harsh french demand, which could be understood as deadline (ultimatum). The prussian King originally answered in a handsome manor, but Bismarck redesigned the text in a harsh answer and Napoleon III declared the war because he felt offended. And with his declaration of war against Pruzzia he accidently activated the defence treaty of the german kingdoms, which now were forced to stand together against the french foe. In the following month the french armies were defeated, imperator Napoleon II became POW and the german Kaiserreich was founded. Please dont mix Bismarck with Bismark. The woods are very dry at the moment, but the fire was only minor. Perhaps there was not much fuel in the plane and perhaps it crashed because it run out of fuel? Only a guess. An other point which might be interesstingly is the use of ABC protection suites by the german fire fighters. It was caused because the F-16 use Hydrazin and this is strong toxic.

Momentan paßt mir so einiges in diesem Forum nicht. Vor allem, wie sich manche Leute benehmen und wie parteiisch die Admin im Streitfall agiert. Ich verstehe langsam, warum sich TK zurückgezogen hat und Capun und viele andere. Momentan bin ich dabei darüber nachzudenken, ob ich den gleichen Weg gehe, einfach die Zelte abbreche und mir einen anderen Ort suche. Wenn ich gehen sollte, dann nehme ich all meine Mods mit. Aber soweit ist es noch nicht. Ich werde eine geraume Weile darüber nachdenken, mal wieder ein Buch schreiben. Und wenn ich damit fertig bin, dann entscheide ich, ob ich noch bei CombatAce sein möchte. Ich werde also für die nächsten Wochen hier nicht erreichbar sein. First, spell my name correct. Second, the signature under the first post shows, that you has edited it 4 days after my first reply. And you has changed it completly. You has removed all screenshots and descriptions of your terrain and included the readme of my Midway terrain from 2009. Third. Using big letters in a forum means shouting.

Dave, if he would use the search function first, before start a new project, then he would find, that something is already available. If he find, the existing terrain could be better, and he wants to make a new one, then it is okay. But only if he dont use the same name as the already existing terrain. Its confusing to have files with the same designation. If he would call it "Midway made by STWA" or "Battle of Britain 1960 of STWA" then it would be okay. But not with the same names. And it is also not okay, if he delete his first post here and write something complete different instead. This is fudge. My 2 cts.

Does the enemy (Talibans) accept our will? The answer is no. Does the Taliban have resources to fight and resist our will? The answer is yes. The conclusion: Whatever will tell us our politicians, we dont have won. We lost. Why? Back to von Clausewitz: "To achieve the victory it is neccessary to to fight with all means and methods while stretching all powers. If not you will lose." Or with other words "do the thing right or let it be". Does the west used all means and methods? Does he used all of his mighty power? No. And why not? Because our politicans believe the definition of war is an other word of Clausewitz: "War is the continuation of politics by other means." What means, that they believe they can make war like politics. No real idea, no real intention, no real target. They try to muddle up, try to bumble. Send out much to less troops, sent out much to less power and have no idea what should come after the first easy days. And so the western states (and i include the USSR here) does not really won all the wars after 1945. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya. Hollywood tells us, we were victorious. But look at the map. Everywhere only wasted lifes of soldiers, who died for nothing.

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere wurden die LW Sabres aus Kanada importiert. Korregiert mich bitte wenn ich irgendwelchen Blödsinn schreibe. Es wurden zwei Varianten importiert. Die erste war die Mk.5 und die zweite war die Mk.6. Der Unterschied zwischen beiden war die Tragfläche. Bei der Mk.5 gab es den 6-3 Flügel mit Minigrenzschichtzaun an der Vorderkante und keine Vorflügel, Nasenklappen oder Slats. Die Mk.6 hatte dann wieder Vorflügel. Nun meine Frage. Ist hat man bei der Mk.6 Vorflügel an die 6-3 Tragfläche dranmontiert oder ist man zurück zur alten Tragfläche der F-86A - F-86F gegangen?

Good news, Wrench. An Africa Corps vs Desert Rats map with new models of planes, based on FE would be awesome. I ask myself, wheter i should make a First Eagles version of my old BoB terrain? Could become a nice thing too. By the way, has someone tested my files with FE2? Does it run under FE2?
