  4. Alder Tag = Old Day ( in some german dialects) better Adler Tag = Eagle Day
  5. The MiG-29 radars should also fit into the nose of the MiG-23.
  6. The AIData section is as far as i know only for the wingmen and other AI planes. It does not affect the autopilot of your plane.
  7. You need an cat extraction utility. I use SFP1E extractor. You should find it in the download section. The campaign file you can edit without a campaign editor. You must simply overwrite the existing planes with the wished planes and the existing locations withe the wished locations. Its quite simple.
  8. Ich glaube das nennt man Abüstung dosnt it?
  11. No MF, such an antenna on the back had only the PF/PFM. It seems to be that it had a big vertical tail, so it is a MiG-21PFM.
  12. Unjam of a modern gun is possible. The GSh-23 had some (i think it were 3, but i'm not sure) cartidges for such task. If the gun jammed, the cartidge was fired and blows out the jam.
  13. Nice plane. I love it. But how can i close the cargobay? It seems to be that it is connected with the landing gear, so that i cant open and close it without retracting the gears and so, while start and landing, the cargobay is open. Is there an easy way to fix it?
  14. Oh yes, the SA-10 is a very dangerous weapon, but unfortunatly only a defensive weapon. If you want to proof that the russians become more aggressive as usual in this area, then you must show tanks, troops, artillery or other offensive systems, but not the defensive Favorit SAM's.
  15. In August 1945 nobody, not even the scientists, knows what nuclear weapons really was. All thought that a nuke is only a big bomb with a very big blast, that can flatten towns. Later it was learned, that a nuke was a weapon of mass destruction with very dangerous side effects and long time effects. In Hiroshima died around 90.000 people during the attack or short afterwards, but more than 110.000 people years and even decades later. The best what you can say about the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki is, that it became obviesly that this weapons should never used again. In 1945 President Truman decided to use the bomb but only 5 years later he had learned so much about nukes and their terrible effects that he denied the use of nuclear weapons in Korean War. And also later when high ranking militarys demanded the urgend use of nukes the demands were always denied. And i hope that nukes will never used. And all people who thinking about using nuclear weapons should be banned into a nuclear poisend desert.
  16. Dave, could it be that you was in a former life a Politcommisar or member of communist party? The words you use i have heared enough in the bad old times from the red side guys. You say that the attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was intended to save the lifes of the US troops. It is an hounorable intention, that is true, no doubt. But ... Imagine you would be the US commander in Chief in August 1945. Which japanese targets you would attack to bring the enemy to surrender, if you has only 2 bombs? I would strike military facilities, command (HQs) so far detected, or important points of armament industry, or the capital of Japan to behead the enemy. Hiroshima and Nagasaki had not had really important armament industry, depots, military, etc. Would you waste the bombs on unimportant targets? I wont. The reason why both towns were selected as targets was, that they were undestroyed. The best way to use the A-bomb to stop the war would have been to drop one over the Bay of Tokyo with the following message, that the next one would hit Japan. In combination with the soviet attack this threatening potential would surely have been enough to japanese surrender.
  17. This is the source: http://www.cfo.doe.gov/me70/manhattan/surrender.htm I dont blame the pilots to drop the bomb on Hiroshima, nor i blame the pilots who dropped the bombs on Dresden, nor i blame the pilots who dropped their bombs on Gaza, nor the men with the rifle in the hand who were sent out to fight and kill. But i blame the politicians and bureaucrats who believe the world is a big chess board and soldiers are only figures on this board, which can be sacrificed. And if something was going wrong they tell us lies and washing their hands in innocence. If you are a soldier, and i think some of use served out their time with the finger on the trigger of a weapon, you have learned that their is a very small line between legal fight and murder. Civilists are to protect, this is a basic rule of all conventions of warefare between civiliced nations, from Haage to Geneva. If you are violating this rule you are a war criminal and you will be punished. If politicians give the order to violate the rule then they find always a way out. Hiroshima was such an act, Dresden was such an act, Katyn was such an act, Guernica was such an act ...
  18. Okay, if you think Wiki is always rubish, then read following lines. They are from the US Department of Energy. "Prior to the atomic attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, elements existed within the Japanese government that were trying to find a way to end the war. In June and July 1945, Japan attempted to enlist the help of the Soviet Union to serve as an intermediary in negotiations. No direct communication occurred with the United States about peace talks, but American leaders knew of these maneuvers because the United States for a long time had been intercepting and decoding many internal Japanese diplomatic communications. From these intercepts, the United States learned that some within the Japanese government advocated outright surrender. A few diplomats overseas cabled home to urge just that." The nuke attacks were not neccessary for ending WW2. They were to show the soviets the big stick.
  19. Well, well, i see, the old cold war style propaganda is still alive in many heads. Read the lines below. They are taken from wikipedia and they are in this case researched very well by the wiki author "On July 30, Ambassador Satō wrote that Stalin was probably talking to Roosevelt and Churchill about his dealings with Japan, and he wrote: "There is no alternative but immediate unconditional surrender if we are to prevent Russia's participation in the war." On August 2, Tōgō wrote to Satō: "it should not be difficult for you to realize that ... our time to proceed with arrangements of ending the war before the enemy lands on the Japanese mainland is limited, on the other hand it is difficult to decide on concrete peace conditions here at home all at once." .... and later ..... At 04:00 on August 9 word reached Tokyo that the Soviet Union had broken the Neutrality Pact, declared war on Japan and launched an invasion of Manchuria. These "twin shocks"—the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and the Soviet entry—had immediate profound effects on Prime Minister Suzuki and Foreign Minister Tōgō Shigenori, who concurred that the government must end the war at once. However, the senior leadership of the Japanese Army took the news in stride, grossly underestimating the scale of the attack. They did start preparations to impose martial law on the nation, with the support of Minister of War Anami, to stop anyone attempting to make peace. Hirohito told Kido to "quickly control the situation" because "the Soviet Union has declared war and today began hostilities against us." With other words, the nukes had not had the effect on the japanese leadership as you stated. Only in combination with the soviet war entry the japanese were willing to surrender. The war entry of the USSR alone would have had the same impact on the fighting will of the japanese leadership. Maybe that some hardliners would have had the will to fight, but deciding was the japanese emperor and his will to resist.
  20. Is someone interessted in a terrain for the "operation Albion"? This was the largest sea landing operation of the german imperial fleet to conquer the islands Ösel and Dagö from the russians in october 1917. Here two links in german http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unternehmen_Albion in english http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Albion
  21. Cheat and switch of the cockpit
  22. Vogesen terrain is made for FE. (civil mod firefighters is a version of Vogesen terrain) Flanders terrain is made for FE.
  23. Sorry, thats wrong. The japanese will to fight was broken. The american island hoping was successfull. The japanese fleet was destroyed, their aif force was down. Their only active position was the Kwantung Army with 1 million soldiers. They attempted to launch negotiations for surrender via USSR but this attempt failed. When the Red Army annihilated the Kwantung Army in north east China (Mandshuria) in a fast show of force the last japanese military accepted their situation. The dropping of the bomb was not neccessary to finish the war. It was after Dresden, the second action of the Cold War. It was a message to Stalin and a senseless too.
