  2. Hi folks. I tried to make a campaign for my Afghanistan terrain. But i failed. Always if i try to start the campaign i get CTD. Below the lines of the campaign_data.ini file.   5. War nicht die Su-28 eine zivile Trainingsversion der Su-25? Irgendwie war da was. Vielleicht kommen daher die Unterschiede im Cockpitbereich.
  6. Ich weiß nicht recht. Ich bleib lieber bei TK's First Eagles. Da habe ich die unbegrenzte Möglichkeit zu modden und es gibt Flugzeuge zu Hauf hier im Forum. Muß ich also gar nichts dazukaufen. Verdun Terrain ist Standard. Flandern und Vogesen gibts hier kostenlos. Ich glaube in dieser Hinsicht sind TK's sims nicht zu schlagen.
  7. The 21PD was the testbed for the 23PD. It was unable to retrieve the gears and their pilots said it was a nightmare to fly. The 23PD was canceled in favor to the swing wing design. It had nothing to do with the technology. It was a problem of additionally weight. The lift engine concept was used successfully on the Jak-38 Forger and the Jak-41 Freestyle. The F-35 VTOL fighter use the same concept which has proofed much more stable and reliable to fly than the Harrier system. The major point is the better transistion from vertical flight to level flight. In the Harrier it is a little bit tricky and some pilots lost their live in transistion related accidents. Not one single Jak-38 was lost while transition. But it is true, that the Harrier was the better plane.

    Afghanistan

    Wenn Du mit Linkspopulisten die SPD oder die Bündnisgrünen meinst, dann gebe ich Dir Recht. Als ich in den 90ern beim Studium war durfte ich mich von solchen "Wehrdienstverweigerern" als Mörder beschimpfen lassen. Ein paar Jahre später habe ich erfahren daß einer meiner Kommilitonen heute für die Grünen im Bundestag sitzt und fein fleißig die Pfote hebt wenn es darum geht deutsche Soldaten nach Afghanistan zu schicken. Was ich gerade aus dem Radio erfahre: Es hat wieder ein paar unserer Jungs erwischt. 9 Verletzte, einer davon schwer. Vielleicht sollten alle "Volksvertreter" die im Bundestag die Zustimmung zum Afghanistaneinsatz geben sich höchstpersönlich an den Hindukusch bewegen und die Waffe in die Hand nehmen. Wenn das Gesetz wäre, dann wären unsere Jungs spätestens zum Wochenende zu Hause.

    Wie man einen Krieg zu führen hat steht in einem ganz alten Schinken, der 1832 oder so geschrieben wurde und noch heute in jeder Militärbibliothek der Welt herumliegt. Das Ding heißt "Vom Kriege" und stammt vom preussischen General von Clausewitz. Über das Thema Sieg im Krieg schreibt er in etwa: Ein Krieg wird nur dann gewonnen, wenn man mit Anspannung aller Kräft und unter Einsatz aller Mittel und Methoden der Kriegführung kämpft. In der Praxis sieht das bei einem Partisanenkrieg so aus, daß man eine Friedhofsruhe schaffen muß. Jeder Widerstand muß gebrochen werden, jede Person die des Widerstandes auch nur verdächtigt wird muß eliminiert werden. Die Südkoreaner haben auf diese Weise während des Vietnamkriegs gekämpft. In der Provinz wo die Südkoreaner standen hatte der Vietcong keine Chance. ABER. Wer ist bereit einen solchen Krieg zu führen, der für unsere Soldaten vor dem Haager Kriegsverbrechertribunal enden würde? Ich glaube keiner. Deshalb gibt es nur eine Lösung und die heißt: Raus aus Afghanistan.

  13. Air Defence Activity findest du im Single mission screen. Ich glaube mit dem Oktober patch hat TK die Größe der Skins von 256x256 pixel auf 512x512 pixel umgestellt. Die einfachste Variante wäre es die Skins mit nem Paint Programm zu öffnen und auf 256x256 zu verkleinern. Die Flugzeuge sehen dann zwar nicht mehr so scön aus, das Spiel läuft aber wesentlich schneller.
  14. Mitunter hilft es die Aktivität der Luftverteidigung herunter zu schrauben. Ein anderer Weg würde sein die Größe der Skins für die Flugzeuge zu reduzieren.

    What a shame!

    The behaviour of the german politicians is unbelievable. First they sent our soldiers into the war in Afghanistan. Then they say that there is no war, call it a stabilisation task or something .... . And if german soldiers come in dangererous situations and shooting back the politicians give the soldiers in the hand of the german justice. It is now 8 month ago that a german soldier opend the fire on a car that came with high speed to the checkpoint and wont stop. Unfortunatly he killed 3 civilists. With the next plane he was sent home. And when he arrived in Germany he came in front of a court of law and was accused to be a murder. Now, 8 month later it is declared that he has done correct on the Checkpoint. It is no wonder that a lot of german soldiers deny to shoot on the Taliban. In the time of Frederic the Great it was that "A german soldier fears his officer more that the enemy" today you must say "The german soldier fears the lawyers more than the enemy". It is not astonishing, that the german officer who odered the air strike on the taliban captured fuel trucks is now also faced with a german court of law. What a shame!

  17. My 10 cents to this discussion are: Flandern terrain is not by me. I made BoB terrain (Battle of Britain) for SFP1. If you want to fly over the english channel (Ärmelkanal in german language) then you can use BoB terrain in FE. It works more or less fine, the only thing would be that the airfields must get a WW1 look. Generally spoken you can use terrain made for SFP1 in FE, but not the FE made terrain in SFP1.

  20. I think the F-104 flight model is overrated. The Starfighter turns and accelerates better tahn in reality. But we should not forget: its a game!
  21. The main reason for the big RCS of the Su-27 family was the fan of the engines. In head on maneuvres the radar of the enemy got a perfect view on the fan. Same problems had MiG-29, F-15 and in some aspects F-16. Coating of the air intakes are a big improvement. The americans did it with the F-16, the soviets tested it with the MiG-29M (i'm not sure wheter they have introduced that feature in real life service) The RCS of the MiG-29A was 15 square meters (nearly that of a Tu-16 bomber) the RCS of the MiG-29M was 1.5 square meters.
  22. Why the people only want to fight yesterdays wars! Neither the Raptor nor the Flanker are usefull in our todays conflicts. You spent enourmous amounts of money for nothing. Its like building battleships between WW1 and 2. Worth for nothing. Today we need combat helicopter and planes like the A-10 or Su-25.
  23. Stay low and then fire a KH-25MP on the Hawk position. You get a nice firework on the ground.
  24. Maybee they only want to give their pilots a cheap flying machine. If you see what it cost to hold a F-15 or F-16 one hour in the air, then you can understand that they will use the good old reliable and cheap Fishbed. High tech fighters are senseless in Iraq.
