Ditto! I use high res exclusively. With a large hi res monitor they are a very noticeable improvement inside and out.

I had this happen as well while flying for the Germans. It was during take off and there was a locomotive and several cars on the landing strip. They where not connected to each other, just sort of lined up like a used train lot. They were there when I landed after the mission also. They were not there on any of the following missions I flew with that pilot. I was not to worried about it after it went away so I did not bother to remember what Jasta or what the date and or mission type was. I just thought I would let you know you were not alone. My guess... May be an unintended artifact from moving the train stations and tracks about. Just a guess. Cheers, Jim

I ran OFF on Vista X64 and now I run it on Win7 X64. I found a great performance increase on Win 7. about 1/3 improvement in speed, smoothness and general stability. HTH

I always go Hi-res. The planes just look too good not to. IMHO.

Interesting bunch here; these are some of my Interests at present. 1. Musician: Vocalist / Harmonica player at present but have been playing music since my Punk Rock days in the 80's. 2. Off highway driving: Lots of open country to explore in the great American Southwest. I enjoy finding old mines and such from the gold rush days. 3. Classic car restoration: Currently have a 1955 Buck special 95% complete. 4. History Buff: Mostly military, but I am also fascinated by the Sagas and read what I can find; Nordic, Icelandic, Greenland, etc. 5. Target fixation kills me above all things. I have TrackIR too and have no excuse for not looking about. I get on that tail and it's like a giant chum bucket, let the feeding frenzy begin.

I used Alacrity when I was running Vista 64. It helped quite a bit. I would say about 15FPS better. I now run the Windows 7 RC and no longer use it; I have found that OFF runs much better on it and have not needed the boost. HTH Cheers

I believe that I have heard it said that if you land or even if your wheels touch the ground the mission timer will end. I have never checked that for myself though. I have had some close calls where I have bounced the carriage a few times but never bothered to check the time. Cheers!

Yup, well aware of that. But what the hell. Ive always had terrain on 4 and clouds on 3 before. In phase 2 and 3 on the vista system. I don't think anything will blow up. If it starts to sag Ill change it. I tried it on my old system but it protested right off the bat. Actually same system, new OS. Cheers.

I was using vista 64 when I switched to windows 7 64. Just to make myself clear. And good evening to you as well.

Just a quick word to those who may be wondering/worrying. I am seeing an immense improvement with both. Running Off max settings, almost no jaggies at all. Sim is running smooth as glass. I am absolutely pleased and astonished. I must say my performance has at the very least doubled. These are my specs. Maximus Formula Q9300 @ 2.60 GHz 8 gigs of OCZ reaper 2 HD3870 X fire mode. Direct X 11 running @ 1920 x 1080 2 x WD raptors Raid 0 Cheers! Sorry forgot to add I was using vista when I switched over.

I have heard the developers say that they have not tested with 3head2go but I believe I saw an early post where someone manged to get it working with three monitors. But I am with the rest of them, look at TrackIR. for one thing it will save you a bundle on all those tubes. I for one use a 46" monitor and TrackIR. My cockpit is almost full scale with that size screen.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that free track is only 2 DOF and TIR supports 6 DOF. OFF supports 5 DOF basically everything but Roll.

That looks very intriguing. The smoke and flames; did you model that with stretched out cotton? It looks really cool. Impressive work, thanks for sharing that. I have never seen those WWI miniatures before, kind of reminds me of my old days of D&D and the hours of painting tiny little figures into the wee hours of the morning till I went blind .

I had phase 2 running on Vista 64 with little trouble. Just a bit of tinkering. Phase 3 no problems at all.

I use a 47" monitor so the TIR receiver is a good 15" over my head and slightly to my left, and I have no issues. I just point it towards my self using the swivel on the base. HTH
