  1. Very nice, give the jaguar a run for its money
  2. Its because we came so close!!! http://www.f-16.net/f-16_users_article28.html (about half way down the page). I grew up dreaming of flying Skyhawks and then Vipers (for a second at least) for the RNZAF only to have them crushed when I was half way through high school

  5. Roaring Pratt & Whitney F100s brakes the quiet dawn at Al Minhad Airbase as a pair of RNZAF F-16AM Fighting Falcons head for the sky... PICKLE! SHACK!
  6. Version 1.2 uploaded: Sorry guys but I had the wrong data.ini files in the P-40N and M with the old FM. The correct FM will stop the wingmen crashing shortly after takeoff. I’ve also included the damaged.lod and textures in case they weren’t already in your PTO install.

  8. No problem mate, as a kiwi I'm embarrassed to admit it but I didn’t really know that much detail about RNZAF service in the Pacific until I started putting together this pack and doing the skins. After the humiliating axing of our air combat wing in 2001 and massive budget cuts that followed the Air Force tends to skim over the history of its fighter squadrons in its publications or museum content/ books etc. It’s a real shame but I guess it’s quite raw for them still and they tend to focus on New Zealanders that served in RAF squadrons or our Article XV squadrons within the RAF. Fortunately the internet and a few New Zealand aviation forums are rich with information because personally I much prefer a P-40, Corsair or Dauntless with Kiwi markings than an Article XV aircraft in boring old RAF markings hehe
  9. View File SF2 WW2 PTO RNZAF P-40E/K/M/N Kittyhawk Pack SF2 WW2 PTO RNZAF P-40E/K/M/N Kittyhawk Pack A total of 301 P-40s were allocated to the RNZAF under Lend-Lease, for use in the Pacific Theater, although four of these were lost in transit. The aircraft equipped 14 Squadron, 15 Squadron, 16 Squadron, 17 Squadron, 18 Squadron, 19 Squadron and 20 Squadron. RNZAF P-40K/N/M squadrons were successful in air combat against the Japanese between 1943 and 1944 (RNZAF P-40E never saw combat). Their pilots claimed 100 aerial victories in P-40, whilst losing 20 aircraft in combat. Geoff Fisken, the highest scoring British Commonwealth ace in the Pacific, flew P-40s with 14 Squadron, although half of his victories were claimed with the Brewster Buffalo. The overwhelming majority of RNZAF P-40 victories were scored against Japanese fighters, mostly Zeroes. Other victories included Aichi D3A "Val" dive bombers. The only confirmed twin engine claim, a Ki-21 "Sally" (misidentified as a G4M "Betty") fell to Fisken in July 1943 From late 1943 and 1944, RNZAF P-40s were increasingly used against ground targets, including the innovative use of naval depth charges as improvised high-capacity bombs. The last front line RNZAF P-40s were replaced by Vought F4U Corsairs in 1944. The ex combat P-40s joined the P-40E in New Zealand OCU Squadrons relegated to use as advanced pilot trainers. The name Kittyhawk was generally retained throughout the aircraft's' service with the RNZAF, even when the later models' official name was Warhawk. Included are 4 Royal New Zealand Air Force specific aircraft with a total of 11 skins. - P-40E Kittyhawk RNZAF - P-40K Kittyhawk (Warhawk) RNZAF - P-40M Kittyhawk (Warhawk) RNZAF - P-40N Kittyhawk (Warhawk) RNZAF INSTILATION: Drop files into your mods folders, override when prompted. 11. Thanks, another magnificent Mirage!
  12. The Griffon 5 Blade Prop would look bad ass!!!
  13. Interested to see what kind of loadouts the RAAF Super Hornets will utilize
  14. Cheers guys, it kicks ass in the air to! It can hold its own with even the best late war fighters lol
  15. Looks like I will have to change the style of my RAAF 3 Squadron F-35A skin slighly
  16. Land lease RNZAF No. 14 Squadron F8F Bearcat
  17. Late 1945. The dropping of the Atomic bombs on Japan has failed to force surrender. Allied forces are on the verge of invading the Japanese mainland... With its primary fighter bomber squadrons now operating the P-51D Mustang and the FG-1D Corsair the Royal New Zealand Air Force has a large surplus of ex-service and now obsolete P-40K/M/N Warhawks. To make good use of these airframes for other than just for pilot training back in New Zealand the RNZAF embarks on an ambitions upgrade program to bring the Warhawk back to frontline service. The result is the P-40S ‘Superhawk.’ - 2200hp Rolls-Royce Griffon 61 engine. - 4 x 20mm Hispano Mk II cannons. - 2 x 0.50 caliber (12.7mm) M2 Browning machine guns. - K-14 gyro gunsight. - Max speed: 448 mph, (391 kn, 717 km/h). - Range: 650 mi (560 nmi, 1,100 km400 nmi (459 mi, 740 km). - Service ceiling: 43,500 ft (13,258 m). - Rate of climb: 3,650 ft/min (18.5 m/s).
  18. I also vaguely remember a movie about a Polish Spitfire squadron called ‘deep blue’ or ‘into the blue’ or something along those lines that had some good ait-to-air in it. If we are going to include space combat then the 2004 BattleStar Galactica series has to be up there to! lol
  19. That's my point Dave, she can do the job so she doesn't need an easier physical standard than a male so why have two standards? I'm only speakeing from my own experience in admitadly a non military service but neither-the-less one that relies on physical and mental performance under extream conditions. I personly don't care about gender as long as whoever it is can do their job correctly to the required level. I think there is a minimum standard required for certain jobs or roles and that should be the standard for all regardless of gender. I also think with one standard for all those that would try and argue a female can't physically do a job or role lose that argument. And at the same time we have the right kind of people doing these jobs regardless of their gender.
  20. I agree with the above two statements. However the physical and academic standards need to be the same for both genders. That is simply so what ever gender the individual happens to be they are able to do the job to the same standard as every other individual. I have not served in the military but I am a Career Firefighter in a disciplined service. What it brakes down to is when the shit hits the fan you need to know that the person next to you can hold their own and if things really turn to shit they can bail your ass out to lol. The biggest argument against women in the services I believe stems from having scaled standards based on gender. This gives rise to the argument that they aren't strong/ good enough to do the job on their own merits and shouldn't be there. In some cases this is ture. There have been times at work when the Firefighter next to me is a 60kg/ 130Ib female Barbie doll that doesn't stand a hope of dragging me out if I go down. On the other hand I've worked alongside female Firefighters who are competing bodybuilders and could bench press me with one hand! My point is some females are more than capable mentally and physically but they should have to meet the same standards as their male counterparts, which should be the standards required to do the job. If they can met the standards, do the job and perform under pressure then they have every right to be there.
  21. Hi mate, Where abouts in NZ are you from? I'm from Taupo
