  1. Thats a fantastic video, TK should use it as an Advert for the SF2 series - "If you change everything this is what it could look like"
  2. It goes in your "C:\Users\******\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam\Terrains" folder and in-game it replaces the stock terrain so it's still called VietnamSEA (not GreenHell etc) but when you start a mission the terrain will be the new one.
  3. Yeap, they were designed around an older Eurofighter model and I just copy/pasted the co-ords from that model just to check it worked so it's "not pretty" at the moment
  4. Bugger - Teras made some CFT's for a What-If Iraqi Typhoon and myself and Ace888 are trying to use them to simulate the latest Tranche 3 Eurofighter but the mapping isn't very good (1 pixel is about 6cm2 on the skin) and they're Very shiny (50's polished metal shiny!) rather than a modern Matt finish. The black dots on the CFT's are 1 pixel on the skin map!
  5. Hi All, I know you can add Specular=0.300000 Glossiness=0.200000 Reflection=0.000000 to the aircraft skin and edit the figures to make the skin more/less gloss or matt but it does nothing when added to either the weapon data.ini or the weapon.ini. Has anyone any ideas how it's done? Many Thanks!........................................................IanH
  6. I've found a slightly quicker method using Paint.net for Transparent Decals - Write your text in the colour you want the outline to be (i.e white for German, dark blue/black for AMI etc) the click Effects (top menu bar) then Stylize, then Outline. This will make your words look like the outline only. Then, like PS, select Magic Wand (Flood mode to Global on top menu) and delete the background colour to leave just the Outline and Save as a Transparent TGA. I've not used GIMP but I hope there's a similar method that you can use.
  7. Here's the modern AMI, GAF & RAF fonts - http://www.ianhenshall.com/sf2/Fonts.7z - The AMI font is 99% right but the Number 1 is slightly different (has a bigger diagonal down sweep) Couldn't add this to the above post for some reason???
  8. Steve - For the Eurofighter serials use the font from Simmershop that Russo linked to and then to make the outer highlight in PS use "Stroke" to add the white border, like this - Using a similar method I'm pretty sure we can do the Italian ones in the same way once we get the font! Do exactly the same as above but after the "Stroke" use the Magic Wand (with "contiguous" unticked at the top of the screen) to select the inner of the numbers (which such select all the numbers simultaneously) then Right click on the Text Layer and select "Rasterize Type" and the Click Edit (from the top menu) and then "Fill" (using the fuselage colour) to leave just the Stroke Outline! Like This - The same steps as above but then using Magic Wand with Contiguous Unticked click 1 number to Highlight ALL numbers Then Rasterise Type - Edit - Fill Leaves you with this Bingo - I think I've got it Well it looks pretty damn close to me! Italian Font - Actual Font -
  9. ThunderCloud - That effect is virtually smokeless (i.e Clean) whereas the Harrier effect is very dirty and the dirtiest Stock effect is the J79 by far!
  10. Here you go - http://www.ianhenshall.com/sf2/Typhoon_tank.7z I've also spilt Bongodrivers Typhoon into 2 versions, the Original F.2 (A2A only) and the Newer FGR.4 (multi-role) for a bit more authenticity if anyones interested?
  11. Indian Navy FRS.51 LUSH - Did this and the older FRS.51 over a year ago (I think) with Wrench and Ghostriders help but it was waiting for the ELTA pod, which has just been included in Ravenclaws F-4 TuAF pack and a few other weapons mods and the new model (two old ones combined) still needs a few areas tidying (decal bleed etc) yet. Some Dissimilar Air Combat Training with the Indian SU-30 MKI, it turned into quite a fun fight! Whilst attempting a very low level pass over "The Bad Guys" I ran across my No3's strafing run
  12. Who knows anymore Here's the one I use which I'm pretty sure came from CA (somewhere) with 153 different RWR icons and an RWR.lst too. http://www.ianhenshall.com/sf2/RWR.7z
  13. It's a bit complicated as it's split into 4 places ands each piece must be edited - Data.ini - Contains whether the A/C has any RWR and the frequencies that the RWR works between (ie 2-18Ghz). Avionics.ini - Contains how the RWR works, what type of display it uses and where the RWR.lst is and what it's named for that particular A/C. RWR.lst - Contains the list of Icons that can be displayed on that aircrafts RWR screen. It's usually in the cockpit folder but it's name/location is set by the Avionics.ini file Flight Folder - Contains every Icon that can be displayed on the RWR screens ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now there's also information about the Radars that you want to detect that may need adding - GroundObject/Aircraft folders - All Radar using A/C or Ground Radars (SAM etc) have an entry in their data.ini files called [DetectSystem] and this "should" have an entry called "RadarFamilyName=". This entry is what causes the RWR display to use a specific Icon "IF" you have created a TGA, called it "RWR_???" where ??? is the RadarFamilyName and finally placed it into the Flight Folder. If there is no entry than the RWR will use it's very basic default Icons ("U" etc). Thats how I think it works but I may have missed something out so if anyone else can think of anything feel free to add it here.
  14. Cool - Been playing TAW v2.0 for what feels like years and it's still fantastic so I hope EF2000 can live up to that!
  15. Found the cause - If you select "Game" Flight and "Game" Avionics it causes the crash. Deselecting one or the other has allowed everything to work except the A-10C which still crashes when in-game and pressing F2. Such a shame that this is stopping me play what looks like a really good game
  16. Maybe not - All my DLC's are knackered I can play the stock DCS World (SU-25T) but none of the DLC's I bought work, they all crash DCS back to the debriefing screen with "Can not open debrief" message and the Steam forums are full of people with the same issue.
  17. Damn you STEAM and your amazing sales! Guess with this and ARMA3 going live thats my weekend gone now
  18. I tried something similar and I also found that the faster a missile flies the more it corkscrews making it virtually unusable. I think this is down to the coding TK used to make A-A weapons "wobble" in-flight so when you push a missile too fast the wobbling effect alters the flight path too much.
  19. #1 The later Su-30 with Canards (part of the SU-27/35 pack) #2 Volkers F-4EJ + Weapons Pack #3 Everything else the CA family make!
  20. IAF & USAF packs - release due within "2 weeks"
  21. I took me ages to get this texture right for the high grip non-slip coating on the Navs foot rest but I think it looks pretty damn good now!
  22. Bingo!!!!! I was using the right area (spacing) but not the parts (roundness/angle) Cheers Claw - Have an Internet Cookie
  23. Thats kind of what I'm doing now - I make a layer of dashes by drawing a line and deleting sections, and then duplicate that layer and rotate it for what ever angle I need. What would be nice is if you could draw a shape using line/rectangle/circle tool and then click a brush option for dashes and the use the Spacing slider to make them bigger/smaller so I don't have 115 line layers as I do currently (before I finally merge them all into one).
  24. Hi All, I'm having issues finding out how to do this so I thought I'd ask here. I can already create a dotted line in PS (using Brush tip spacing) but how can I create a Dashed line instead i.e ------------- not .............. for things line warning signs etc When I try, the dashes stay in the same direction so a vertical line has horizontal dashes _ _ _ _ _ instead of I I I I I has anyone got any ideas? At this point I'm think of going back to a normal straight line and using the eraser to remove bits as it seems easier, if a lot more time consuming! Cheers!
