You know, I could take that statement, reverse the players, and it would still be just as unanswerable. Like, how is it many right to lifers (for example) can be so pro-life in regards to a child, but so pro-death when it comes to criminals? Sorry, didn't mean to pick on your FC, but it's a bastard of a question (both are). I think the big problem is the assumption that humans are meant to be treated with a certain level of dignity and respect, irrespective of their crimes. As though our behaviour towards them reflects our own civility. What a crock, and a huge generalisation, might I add! Personally, I believe if you commit a grievous crime like this sick bastard, you've forfeited your right to your humanity and should be treated as such. The problem with something like that is that some places may choose minor, politically motivated things to outlaw. Especially if the church gets in their ear... The only plus to come out of this is that he'll be around for a while to be on the receiving end of quite a few beatings...

So far, it doesn't happen to have any catapult attachment for the nose gear, but with China still umming and ahhhing about whether or not to go down the steam catapult route with their carrier program, we may still see a Flanker that can be shot off the end of a carrier yet. Plus there's about 3 different planned naval variants being examined for the potential export market that haven't reached production. Let keep this one on subject away from pissy, F-22 BS arguments. It's an interesting concept...

Nato hasn't been 'just' a counter to the Warsaw Pact for almost 20 years. It's purpose has evolved beyond grouping member countries under an organisational umbrella to counter any mass eastern bloc assault. Humanitarian operations, enforcement of EU policy, logistical support and so on are some of it's prime functions these days, not to mention interoperability programs and familiarisation/modernisation for newer members. So in that context, and I mean no disrespect to the lovely French peoples, this is why it really won't matter a whole lot since the other nations take care of this anyways. The French will always do what they are going to do, love them or hate hem for that, it's just their way. On one hand, it makes sense to rejoin since adding their resources would certainly benefit the whole, but not if it includes the French bureaucracy that has been a total pain in the arse in the past. It'd be good to seem them rejoin, but at the same time, it's had to work well without them for 42 years, so they'll cope.

Jesus! Me neither... Wow, that sucks...

Damn... I gotta stop in Ohio next time I'm in the US. I didn't realise there's a C-133 there too!

Come on dude, it's been established a bunch of times in a bunch of different publications that the J-10 is not a Lavi clone. It is (or will be) a very capable fighter. The Lavi was was essentially just an earlier block F-16. The F-16 evolved far beyond what was perceived for the Lavi and has proved a much wiser choice IMO. I mean those Soufas and UAE Block 60s look badass! But hey, I'll agree to disagree. That little rant notwithstanding, on the subject of PLAAF aircraft, I wouldn't mind seeing a version of that Tu-4 AWACS testbed. I might have a play around with the EC-130V rotodome when I get back to see what it looks like on the B-29. Also, has anyone said the P1154 (AV-16?)? Somebody here posted a few snaps of artists impressions of the Supersonic Harrier and they looked quite good.

Dammit! Mine is one of those accounts that got wiped. Christ knows when I played on one of these dodgy servers, but in any event, I think it took me 18 months of toil to get to Sgt on a crappy, choppy machine. I get my new machine with a GeForce 8800 a shade under 8 months ago and tried BF2 roughly 6 weeks ago and... wiped clean. With GRAW 2 and CoD 4 out, I don't care for the Battlefield series and it's "who's that tapping my shoulder? Wait, no that's someone tagging me with a barratt at point blank range. Almost didn't feel it." physics system, I just don't care about it anymore. PR and Oz Forces were the only thing keeping my interest in it anyways...

You reckon? I reckon it's Nathan Lane...

Why does everyone want the IAI Lavi? That p.o.s. was so overrated! I'm thinking J-10,JH-7, The VVS Bears, Backfires and Blackjacks etc, The Su-24/25/30/34/35/37 etc so there can be a little more balance for both sides. Failing that, I'd be a happy, happy man just to see a Mirage 2k or the Bucc roll of the assembly line... (My deep dark wish is for the ATLAS Cheetah... )

Wow... screw catching the train to work!

Yeah, Ditto. Keep your head down!

Yeah, those are the Carlo Kopp/Peter Goon stats from Ausairpower.net. Only thing is, I've also seen pamphlets from LM that show similar diagrams about the potential of the F-35 using almost identical stats, just swapping the F-35 and Flanker, pretty much. Disclaimer: There is a lot of good info on that site, only, when you read through it, be aware that both men have specific agendas and that there is some specific information missing/omitted from some of their analysis. Their main arguments about the F-22 are neither practical, cost effective, nor politically probable. Especially this late in the game. And some of their stats on the Flanker is inflated somewhat to make it seem a bigger threat (Indonesian availability rates/turn around times and future funding aren't taken into consideration, for example.) That said, there is some substance to the concept of a modular Su-33 that's compatible with Western avionics, engines, etc. Sukhoi would have many more customers if this were the case, but seeing Sukhoi, Elta, BAe etc teaming up to supply a potential customer would be extremely unlikely given their competative differences...

Yeah, but with easy access to technology comes the free flow of information... Thing is, not to get political, forget about the whys and whos for a moment. This current war wasn't popular from the get go. The leaders of the US, being the biggest kid on the block, were pushing it though, despite the resistance. All eyes were on you guys at the time, Afghanistan was going on, Sept 11 was still pretty fresh, I'm certainly not arguing about justification here, but lots of people/groups with varying agendas were making it their full time job in watching you guys like hawks, waiting to slam you for any slip ups and to blow even the tiny stuff out of proportion. I'm with you Warlord, Jedi, I don't get the demonising either. I currently have 'friends' (the more accurate term would be douche bag acquaintances) who're currently ostracizing a bud of ours because of his involvement in Iraq. And his crime? Aircraft mechanic. I like to think of myself as left leaning but am ashamed to find the actions of some (note, some) of the people who find themselves on my side of the fence to be BS. When I suggested their actions were as justified as the stories I've heard of Nashos coming back from Vietnam being pelted feces at the airport, I was subsequently snobbed too. Oh well, screw them, they won't be missed.

They used to be available here, but now you'll have to head ovr to the A-Team's site and grab them there. The web addy is: http://cplengineeringllc.com/SFP1/ If you're not a member, you'll have have to apply for one here: http://cplengineeringllc_bb.cplengineering...Forum/index.php That post at the top should point you in the right direction.

Have you tried one of the Spanish Omelettes? Some versions are like your conventional omelette, but there's one version that requires you to mash that sucker. Most spanish omelettes are usually comprised of egg, milk, potato (sliced), capsicum, onion but vary after that...

Need an U.S Aircraft
SayethWhaaaa replied to Manfred Albrecht Freiherr's topic in Mods/Skinning Discussion
Dude, the search button will just about find you everything! Otherwise, checkout the Knowledge Base (Knowledge Base here). There are lots of instructions there on applying things to this series and how to find some things (aircraft, etc) -
Awww... it got removed. Now how am I gonna ZOmbie proof my neighbourhood??

If it's available from the band's website for free download (as many bands are doing these days) you may be alright, again, assuming you're not trying to take credit for, make money from or alter the music from the original authors... ...but then again... Not too sure on this. Might have to ask one of my law student buddies about this one.

...well it's illegal to send the kids back into the mines. I have a couple of friends who're teachers here and they did something specific for the day, which I kinda found a little odd. Our culture here isn't as militarised as, say US culture. That is to say, the military subjects usually don't come up as much as others would. And given the ADF's (AIF's?) lack of involvement, I'm surprised it would have been brought up since teachers here only cover the bare basics of our military history: Gallipoli and Simpson and his Donkey, both WWI. Big respects to the vets of that god awful dawn!

Billion dollar plane goes up in smoke, that's gonna be someone's ass! I missed this story I think. The crew ok?
-
I brought this up about 18 months ago, but not trying to get someone to model it. And in that time I still haven't found anything in depth about this aircraft. I don't know if it's because there wasn't much info about this aircraft after it's cancellation or what. Btw, Cicacho, isn't it the other way around? I thought this was the early model: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Pzl-230_skorpion_01.jpg (The green one) and this one was the last revision because it took stealthy elements into consideration. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Pzl-230f_skorpion_02.jpg (The black one) Either way, I think the green one with turbofans looks better! It any case, it's really a shame it wasn't continued! A Polish CAS plane that was as tough as an A-10 but the size of a Volkswagon () would have been sweet to see!

Looking nice Veltro!

Hey, always happy to share!

K, haven't heard this since I was a kid. And I used to love these guys until this stuck in my head for the past 48 hours!

You have to admit, 24 deaths is pretty excessive and no matter what, should be investigated, irrespective of whether charges are leveled at the Marines or not. What sh*ts me about this whole debacle is how even before the results of the trial have been investigated, the Soldiers in question have already been condemned. As far as I saw, nothing was revealed about the civilians involved in this incident (not just the victims) but what I have seen in articles in the past, some media outlets will still refer to civilians who fire at or return fire as civilians! It just really bugs me how it's become "playing the man, not the ball" when reporting from war zones. If you don't like the procedures, fine, protest the procedure, but if they have a job to do and rules of conduct to follow... and they're followed, don't look to lynch the poor bastard for doing their job! It's easy to tar everyone with the same brush just as it's easy to assign fault and say "Yep, it's those Yanks fault", but in Journalistic terms, summary judgments like that're just a race against the Foxes or The Suns to the bottom... Wow... That was a bit of a rant, wasn't it?
