NeverEnough replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Prop Heads Forum
Wow, this one really grabbed my attention! Veltro has been bringing to life a steady stream of ever improving models. I was just going back through the downloads section looking for some of the old view mods, and it made me realize what a broad spectrum of really nice aircraft models Veltro has introduced. I can remember the many postings leading up to Veltro2k's first finished model. They have been coming fast and furious since that one! Veltro's works have filled so many different niches, which has been pretty unique among the current modellers. Ed has been kind enough to give us aircraft from the Spanish Civil War era to the present day. I'm just struggling to understand how anyone could possibly have their tailfeathers out of joint over prop textures...... -

Decals?
NeverEnough replied to ezlead's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hey Ezlead, download one of the SF2 models converted from the SF1 series and also download the original SF1 series model. Take a look at the two files side by side, and it will make the whole process make a alot more sense. This approach will show you the before and after picture of what changes have been made. It sure took the mystery out of the conversion for me! -
Have a great Birthday, and I hope you get lots of dark chocolate for gifts!

Lost wingman
NeverEnough replied to MAKO69's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks for posting the link to his story. Obviously, he was quite a guy! How in the world did it take 44 years to do the right thing and award him the medal he so deserved? -

I'm intrigued! The various cloud mods have really added to the finished look of the sims. -
Welcome home and thanks for your service!

SF2I
NeverEnough replied to xclusiv8's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
My Turtle Beach Santa Cruz went into at least two of my systems, and is now purring along happily in my girlfriend's business computer. They are great sound cards, and most importantly, no messing with Creative drivers! -

Heal well and quickly! A close friend of mine had two separate episodes with a collapsed lung, and could not emphasize enough just how painful it was. My sympathy and best wishes, Allenjb.

I just saw this on my start page, and immediately thought of EricJ. He gets back unscathed from his deployment overseas, and something senseless like this happens.... Pray for his well being, and for those brave souls who were wounded and killed.

AA-3 Anab
NeverEnough replied to Stick's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
This is a delayed response to Stick's original inquiry about fixing the missing AA-3 Anab skins. Probably the best fix is to rename the aa-3r.bmp used in the AA-3RB folder to aa-3.bmp, and rename the aa-3ir.bmp used in the AA-3IRB folder also to aa-3.bmp. Both skins will then appear correctly in game. These two missiles came from 331KillerBee's SF2 Weapon Pack, so I assumed the bmp files were named correctly. Out of curiosity I fired up the hex editor and took a peek at the lod files for the AA-3 missiles in the Community Weapons Pack 2.52, WOE MF Weapons Pack 1-02-08 v2.0, and Bunyap's Weapons Pack 0-06. Every weapons pack available to date has the AA-3 bmp's named incorrectly! So, the short version is just rename your AA-3 bmp's to aa-3.bmp, and you will be good to go! -

I found this problem when I converted the Mirage 2000-5 for use in SF2. The Ymac value for the Right Wing in the data.ini file for these models was originally Ymac=-0.90, and it should be Ymac=0.90 instead. The negative Ymac value on the right wing caused the plane to flop to one side when pulling over the top. Correcting it to the Ymac=0.90 eliminated the problem. Take a look at the Mirage2000-5_Data.ini in the Mirage 2000-5_SF2 download package for where the changes should be located.

Very Very Sad News
NeverEnough replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Though I never had the pleasure of meeting him, I knew him through the many works he gave so freely to so many. We are all diminished by his passing. BPAO, may God be with you and your family, friends and loved ones......
