Actual coded implementation of how it works is probably something Thirdwire would have to answer. ECM values have been derived through trial and error - and are probably specific to a certain patch level - so that might have been set up against 3rd party weapons only for example. Over the years internal coding has changed missile behavior and frequencies and CW considerations only came in with SF2 - so you would be looking at seeing what values are best for the current patch based on what you are looking to achieve. And is that correct - all ALQ-99s have had Noise/barrage Jamming modes only?

So you can run SF2NA fine full up - but ODS falls over - might be terrain related. Has this only happened since the latest patch?

What are your specs - do you run SF2NA at full whack?

FM issue - same with the Victor and Valiant - I did tweak the FMs so they fly in SF2 (Hard model) if you want them - but don't expect accuracy in the way they fly.

Saw this yesterday at the cinema - not bad............Alien fans probably wont be disappointed.

Its in a persons best interest to know where the files go I would say - particularly regarding the point that most downloads include a bunch of files without a readme even - or include a readme from 4 years ago for series 1. If you know where the files need to go then you wont stuff things up and you become far better at troubleshooting your own problems.

You used to be able to do it by creating a single mission in Notepad and editing the values manually - several of the Yankee Air Pirate missions in Series 1 did this - but they had to work out the exact coords of the hanger to place the jet there - not sure if you can do this in SF2 though without some testing. Shutting down an engine - thats shift + I by default - and most canopies on Jets can be opened / closed already - but it would be a case of manually editing the data.ini file for each jet.

Its inconsistent - watched AI fire AIM-7s at a lone Bear - 1 direct hit in the centre of the Bear - net result was a few black smudges on the right wing as it flew on!

They were given redundancy payoffs I think - so have had to find jobs elsewhere - or maybe to ld to come back when the FAA has aircraft again. As for what they are doing now - Suspect they are waiting for Jet Thunder to be released

Took some A-4Gs in at low level - managed to attack the Kiev and all my wingmen survived - bet the SAMs (SA-N-4) have been toned down.

The FAA is getting nothing till the F-35Bs it seems - thats it really sad to say - reliant on the US to provide fixed wing air where the RAF cannot cover - aka quite a few places.

The last RAF Harriers are out of service since 2011 and last I heard the USMC had bought them all for a bargain price. The Last Carrier Ark Royal was sent for scrapping in 2011 - so the FAA only fly choppers off HMS Ocean with the Army Apaches as in Libya. The FAA will be flying F-35Bs off 2 new Carriers in the next 5 years - well maybe......
