I use a GeForce 7600GT and have been told that the best drivers for the GEForce 7600 are the last ones properly made compatible with it - in my case Forceware 93.71 Neither Falcon or any 3rd wire games would respond properly to advanced settings made with the latest drivers. Have you installed the actual drivers for the monitor also - or are you using the Windows default ones?

Actually Mailbu - do your wingmen attack tanks during CAS missions? - something ive recently noticed - they attack static targets okay - but give em a moving tank they put the canopy back and dont bother . No other planes have this problem so have been trolling through comparing and changing the data ini to see what it could be - have been testing the A-1D in WOE and the A-1JVNAF in WOV - would be interested to know if anyone gets the same thing?
  5. So did you take out the weaponsdata.dat file and it now works? Basically if you take that file out the game and it works - you are using the wrong editor The game will default to use the original loadout file which is why any extra weapons wont now be there. you need to compile the weaponsdata.ini with the correct weapons editor What version have you got SF patched up to? - will say on the main menu
  6. missile object.dll error was caused by using a wrong editor amoung other things - if you remove weapondata.dat from the SF "weapons" folder does it then load up?   11. What settings do you play on? - in options you can change "flight flight" to normal, easy or Hard - so if you are new to this then try out some different settings. To change the actual flight model for individual jets - well thats described in the aircrafts xxxxxx_data.ini file - so if you know much about Aero engineering you can just go right on ahead and change it Will assume you installed this in WOE yes?

Only found one called UMC2 or something - it does open 3rd wire LODs and skins but I thought it was even more annoying - so i ditched it- it was obviously written for other formats with 3rd wire as a side - but it did mention in the read me he needed to work out the LOD format header or something Someone said you can take out some of the menus out to start the game quicker - though not sure what they removed. suppose you could do this to a test install of wo*
  13. No idea - but If you can then the keys would be exactly the same as you use when in the F-16 I would think.
  14. So you get no sound at all? you dont even get the music at the menu stage? Assume you have been through the steps in the Vista thread? But other games work okay? and you can play music etc? Thing is the game works out of the box so I dont think anyones ever had to change those files above - although yes they are correct and should have those symbols in them since your askin - shame TW dont support Vista yet - Ive no idea if there is anything you can change that would get it working tbh. Have you tried any earlier drivers for that sound card - latest drivers are not always the best.

You dont need to lock onto anything in this game - Point jet in general direction of a radar and fire if you have RWR and it has a flashing square on it point the jet towards that etc Best to standoff a bit - the Shike or Standard ARM dont seem that good close in - although they often miss anyway. must be loads of old threads on ARMs etc.

  18. Stigler - We thank you for your work - it is no doubt of excellence coming from an experienced modeller as yourself. There are teams/groups within the SF community (think Dave already said this) that do strive for much more realism and accuracy as they can get out of the sim - so potentially you could join one of them - or even set up your own subgroup to meet your requirements. You can probably understand why everyone goes on the defensive when you show up - even I remember the Gina thread - harsh Criticism of freeware and people that dont meet your standards only just isnt on - for the many reasons you have been told time and time again.

  20. Back for 1 post only :) Typhoid we expect better from you sir - does anyone actually know what type of boats these were? A few months back when what looked like Iranian Dingies buzzing around US warships I too laughed and thought where was the threat there - but was told they had some pretty handy anti ship missiles and were very in fact a very big threat to the ships. Although no way of knowing its possible Georgia could possess the hardware.
  21. Had they actually flown them at this point? looks like they had just studied them on paper - otherwise he would have picked up on the underpowered and limited engines the F-14A had. The statement "the F-14A always wins against the F-15A" is not shown in its true context - so I will assume that means on paper specifications only. Bit like the RAF concluding the Tornado ADV always wins against the F-14/F-15 because of better range,cheaper cost and job retention. :)

  23. LOL - I pity the fools in Hollywood for not casting the F-4 instead! - although difficult to say how many hearts the poor old A-6 actually captured looking like that :) Never heard of that till now - although 1979 - probably why - gets good reviews on the IMDB thou
  24. Oops - I forgot one of the F-4s biggest appearances came in Top Gun - near the end on a tiny photo with Pete and his Dad standing in front of it - the ultimate snub of a great jet even the F-16 got a bigger role - Yes I have seen it too many times it would seem

The F-18 got a good showing in Independance day where it defended the earth with valour and distinction - and even took out that massive spaceship - surely that film was bigger than all 23 of the Iron Eagles put together? But then again I suppose it was seen as more sci fi maybe and nobody noticed the Hornets :) As for the F-4 - gets a small role in Die Hard 2, Flight of the Intruder, maybe a minute showing in we were soldiers and...... The F-15 kicked A in Air Force 1 - but again just a small cameo - surely the original Transformers gave it some glory for us kids though?
