  1. Actually that fix seems to have taken care of the blip near BIN THUY airfield (South Cambodia / Thailand i think) so good work there The only other thing is the two large airbases (Tan Son Nhut / Bien Hoa (south south Vietnam)) which apart from having trees coming from the runway - had a problem where the runway disappears when you land on it - almost like another tile was overlapping it. (is ok from up high though) - will get a pic well if were going to be picky
  2. Wow thats support - I know there are a few other out of place - will need to get some pics
  3. what this one? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=915 Would be caused by one of the files you dragged in with the Mod. Also Im not sure if those figures above are specified in feet?
  4. Am aware of KAB type bombs: http://www.global-defence.com/1997/Precision.html http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/su24/ http://edefense.blogspot.com/2005/11/what-...uided-bomb.html If they have been used then maybe in Afghanistan and chechnya possibly??
  5. love it - looks great
  6. Theres a bit about the SA-16 Igla 1 here and service ceiling: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9K38_Igla cheers
  7. Yes thats no problem - nice one!
  8. In Captain Dale Storrs Account (Warthog, William L Smallwood) he was passing through 10,000ft when his A-10 was hit by an IR SAM - guessed to be SA-16 (this was in the 1991 Gulf war btw) - never saw it coming!
  9. A big issue is shoulder launched MANPADs - they can only be detected by eyesight but as pilot accounts from the 1991 gulf conflict show that the first they knew a missile was coming was when it hit them. A good reason to have one against short range AAM's is that future counter measures could be deployed automatically where the pilot may not have time to respond himself. Its essential that a good IRWR is in service soon.
  10. Sorry no idea - You could ask TK at ThirdWire(Maybe?) - think they developed them. It normally only takes a few secs to merge inis together and create the dat files manually so I would b surprised if anyone has looked into this.
  11. Yes the Eurofighter has a DASS MAWs system that can detect infrared missile launches (developed by BAE Systems) - Not sure if it works though.
  12. Thanks Prowler - glad to see you are aware of the issue.
  13. Not that im uptight or anything but could you change the Razbam site so that either you dont have to make an account to buy something - or make sure SSL is used on the create account page that people are forced to put their personal info and password into. thankyou
  14. Did you actually install the latest version of Direct X via the link on Thirdwires site - or are you assuming you have the correct version? There are several Versions of Direct X 9c
  15. Im with you on the quote about the quality of the free models available for the Third Wire series - a lot are top drawer - guess thats what you get when something is made with passion and not to a deadline. Users of the free Mods have a lot to be thankful for IMO
  16. Apparently any radar can detect a Stealth plane - its the range that the plane is actually detected - thats the issue.
  17. Well I bought the HiTiles for Falcon 4AF - which were 12$ (£6) so I don't have a problem with these. The only problem I can see now is that the account page where you put in all your personal info and password in isn't encrypted as far as I can see - kind of the first rule of eCommerce really - they need to sort that out! Actually Edward - are you setting up a paypal thing like YAP uses - that should be more secure - and I will actually buy them then. cheers!
  18. In real life im sure most of use would certainly honour this! However in Falcon 4 that KC-135 that stutters around the sky (intentionally i might add) is on borrowed time!
  19. Hmm yeah Battlefield Vietnam is game you want - like the above v limited/unrealistic jet flying to the point of there being no point :)
  20. I always run the exe to my desktop - then manually move the files in myself in case it tries to replace the weapondata.ini or something - then i uninstall or just delete the downloaded exe and files from my desktop. The auto installer usually only puts the files in the correct location (if you specify it) - it wont sort out other things. eg if the Mirage is specified as a nation not already in the game - it wont add the nation into Nations.ini - also it wont auto install any drop tanks weapons - these have to be done manually using the weapons editor. - its likely that the game may be looking for something that hasnt been done. Yeah also I periodically back up my installs to DVD - even if i need to start again from fresh - eg when a major service pack is released - I can just move mods back over from the old install. Its nightmare losing a modded install that s been building up over time - takes ages to do the thing in one go - plus you need to find all the mods again!
  21. Well im still waiting for tangible evidence of their finished stealth projects tbh. The first Wikipedia article also mentions the use of plasma stealth which seems to be just a unworkable theory still from what ive read.
  22. Only seen / used them in YAP - the AI seems to do an okay job in those missions though - cant say ive monitored their every move though.
  23. They look great - congrats!
  24. So I assume you downloaded something from here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...amp;showcat=134 If there is no readme - then basically extract the files (you may need WinRar) to a single folder on your desktop. Find the main planes folder - called something like F-5E and copy and paste to: C:\......\Wings Over Europe\Objects\Aircraft so it sits along side the other planes in your game. The plane is now installed - if you have weapons/tanks to install then there is a nice article on page 2 of the knowledge base: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showforum=99 The weapons editor and latest file extractor can be downloaded from this site.
  25. Did you back up the dll's you replaced? Did you run the sfc scan? You will have to search the Microsoft Database - Direct X becomes part of the Operating system so I dont think you can remove it properly (though there are programs that claim to do this). Make sure you have the correct Direct X version from MS and run it from its installer - dont manually copy files over. Also look up on how manually replacing dll files can be backed out - if at all If still no joy then try this: Back up any Mods you want to keep to a different folder. Uninstall the games fully from "add/remove" programs only. Manually delete/move any game folders/files that the uninstaller leaves behind. At this point you could use CC cleaner to clear out any rogue thirdwire entries it picks up Install a fresh game from disk to a different location (dont patch or mod) and try it out. If still no joy then you can go on experimenting with what it may be - but you may have to consider reinstalling or repairing windows XP - which aint too bad a deal these days - providing you have all the drivers for your hardware (or know what your hardware is) - and back up everything you need to keep to external disks - and have the licence key/XP disk http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/s...xp/install.mspx http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/h...ips/doug92.mspx ps - this is a last resort and at your own risk entirly - there is plenty of help on the net if you need to go this route.
