  1. There are some here for certain models: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...amp;showcat=198 If there are no skins for a particular nations airforce then its because no one has had either time or the inclination to do them. Eventually a Mig loving skinner will do them all
  2. 1. Extract it from flightdata.cat using this : http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=343 5. Still being worked on I think - do a search on old posts here or at simhq for more info + check out the terrains download section on here.
  3. To open any files with a .cat extension you need to download and install this: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=343 you then need to extract the file you need and open it with the relevent program - for .ini files Notepad is great. BTW the files always stay in the .cat file so by extracting the file you only make a copy of it - meaning that you can actually delete the file if you hash it up too much and the game will use the original in the Cat file - or you can just extract it again obviously!
  4. Other than using Fraps im not sure - I think there is a debug mode that you can put the game into that gives a whole load of info - cant remember the key combo though - try searching old posts on here or simhq if no one knows
  5. I use the F-104C-10 in WOV - mainly because it was actually used in the SEA conflict Download an F-104 cockpit from here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...um=10&st=30 The files need to be in a folder called Cockpit - like the other planes. The f-104.ini file should have an entry that refers to the correct cockpit .ini file ie: "CockpitDataFile=F-104C_cockpit.ini"
  6. They are great in Falcon F4 - you dont have to learn hundreds of key combos for a start. Im sure that the Track IR thing will be resolved when 3D clickable cockpits become more available - in the next generation of flight sims. I would expect the next incarnation of Falcon (or whatever) to have a clickable cockpit. To use a mouse with your opposite hand is not difficult btw.
  7. This is not a common problem and this series is very stable - so im almost certain it is to do with the graphics card/drivers or monitor drivers. It may be worth changing a few in-game graphics settings and than trying some different profiles from your advanced card settings also - (if you can)
  8. They look pretty cool - Some interesting 4th Generation concepts there!
  9. Those TERs look like they are hanging on by a thread! :dirol:
  10. The airspeed is normally accurately modelled ive been assured - particularly in the 3rd party planes. For a start the Airspeed is measured in Knots and Altitude is measured in Feet in game for the NATO planes. Also there are Indicated Air Speed (IAS) and True Air speed (TAS) readings - both of which are measured differently - I think the HUD reading in the bottom left hand corner gives IAS only - thing is I got rid of that display years ago and only use the analogue cockpit dials so someone correct me if im wrong.

  12. Pretty good - even like the music - wheres that from?
  13. Thanks - the 25 hour day is really good - havnt seen much of the F-105 in actual film
  14. I cant find one on here - they may be WIPs still - same for the B-1
  15. Well The only thing Im not to fond of is that the posts get bunched together as links at the bottom of the page - so I have to change the options to Standard view each time. Is there a way to change the permanently?
  16. hmmm - so it does work!

    Global Warming

    hahaha - v funny!!
  18. totally agree - I would never fly without my TrackIR again - its changes everything!
  19. If you have a SAM radar flashing on your RHAW scope then turn towards it select whatever ARM you have and then fire - though this doesnt guarantee you will hit the intended radar site. For some reason I had better luck with the Shrike A than the B or the Standard ARM. If you are close to the site it usually doesn't obtain a lock - without a RHAW like the early Skyhawks you have to spot SAM launches and then nose up a bit then fire - then prey! Taking 2 ARM's rarely results in 2 hits - you have to use cluster bombs / rockets/gun for most radars.
  20. No idea - but try the SIM HQ forum or Frugals if no one gives you an answer here
  21. I think all ECM deceptive / jamming can be burned through eventually - just depends at what range the Mig obtains a lock. At that point its time to switch off the ECM because the Mig is like to launch a missile that can home in on the ECM pod. Also depends on the type of ECM pod being used.
  22. The only thing to suggest it to go to Thirdwires forum and petition there (plenty have mentioned this im sure) - even a lite sim should have this feature really - it already saves a pilots stats so plonking in a medal count shouldn't be to hard.
  23. No - a major flaw IMO The only way i know of is to press "printscreen" at the medal screen - then leave the game and paste it into a Word document or similar and save one for each pilot - if you can be bothered to do this of course!
  24. One of the effects packs gives the SAMS bettwer smoke trails so they are easier to see when they launch - this is most handy when you dont even have an RWR in your jet. Using a TrackIR you can see the things just like in real life and take action. IR detection has been a massive problem - particularly against MANPADS im glad there is finally something to sort this out.
  25. Think of a .rar like a .zip - its a compressed file - its just you need a program to decompress it for you so you can get the contents out. I use a free program called winRAR btw Unless stated the Mods will normally work in WOV/WOE and SF/SFG Bear in mind some may not have been upgraded to work with SP4 - and some were only created when SF was out and need the authors to change any descriptions. To actually work out which mod works with which sim would take some years now judging by the amount of mods unfortunately - and they can usually be changed to work anyway.
