@Coupi, Not going to steal your topic, but I was visiting family on holidays, so at some point I ended up in my old room and opened some boxes... The reason I never built a 3d model yet... many years ago...some were never finished because I was transferring from place to place too often... have no idea what happened to Allison here...

This is not that important. It is important to enjoy working on it. I was building scale models for years (still have a stack of unopened boxes), and while it was always thrilling to see some competition builds...fun is when you make it your own.

Kinetic has one good model in 1/48 scale. With additional Aries nozzles and some Eduard details, you can have a nice 2000D in 1/48.

Well...Happy New Year to you all. As a side note, yesterday I went to work (not to mention that I got up at 5 am, it is -12. I open the door, see my project leader and some other guys, and I hear that the company where I worked for the last 8 years is bankrupt. Good start.

Single weapons stations per aircraft

In ODS30AE, we did it in a few aircraft, and even in birds that did not have enough weapon groups to spare. Example - F/A-18 A/C... Since wingtip launchers are only to carry Sidewinders and in general there are not many options to change that (it is just sidewinder, so why would you change something - (Unless you have a modern setup and want to load AIM-120 on your F-16), we made them as weapon group=8- invisible in loadout menu but fully functional. Thanks to that, we gained one weapon group on the wing station for an asymmetrical loadout. We have 8 weapon groups on F-18. 7th is for laser pods (loaded via loadout.ini) and 8th is for Sidewinders (also loaded via loadout.ini) ok.I just launched ODS30AE...We did that on F-16 too. We have 7 group stations on F-16. The 7th is for ECM, which is always loaded. -

I know that this is a screenie topic, but i will allow myself to butt in. Seems to me that this is piracy towards Cold Waters. Free model on shady website does not mean that Cold Waters guys are sharing their assets. Edit: Since the post that I was ranting about is missing (deleted or edited) I will allow myself to post a picture now. I could not post a screenie at the time of my first response...I was on the cellphone and just noticed that post. I can see that my rant is not liked, but anyway. I can be a dick sometimes.

It is a long way to creating a mod. First, you should collect all available knowledge and data regarding vehicles, maps, and everything else that might be useful in the process of creating a mod. Then find people whose hearts will beat faster when you tell them about your mod, and share your knowledge with them in the newly created inner 'Beagle' circle. And then all goes quite easily. But I might be wrong. It is just my personal experience here in CA.

Go for decals. This is the way. Yes, you can make numerous individual skins, but then each time before clicking on the magic 'FLY' button, you will have to choose a skin for every aircraft. While 'decal way' gives no such hassle, and it is in use since ever in-game.

nah. I do not think so. Game, in fact, does not support a laser designator. What we have is just a "taste" of lser. It works more like GPS targeting on designated targets. And like a laser designator on any ground object - as long as the ground object is "targetable." We can not control the designator beam, unfortunately. But if you have aircraft converted into ground objects for target purposes, with proper entry in targets.ini, you can acquire it as a target for LGB. -
