    Meh. Even if the F-35 was the greatest aeroplane ever built by a factor of 10:1 it would still almost certainly be a colossal waste of money.

    There's a long history of intervention. First the British, now the Americans. ISIS is a bunch of sexually frustrated, bored, unemployed young men doing something they think is right (no matter how twisted it seems to us). Killing people and destroying things has a nasty habit of perpetuating a cycle of violence. If you want to defeat ISIS then give the foot soldiers a job and a girlfriend.

    Well, considering American bombing was a key part of creating and fuelling ISIS I'm not sure why people think it's now suddenly a good idea to do more of it.

    Let's not forget that Microsoft is getting its act together and building Windows into a single platform scalable from telephones to supercomputers. Once they get their mojo working they will start dominating the tablet and phone spaces and there will be the money for app development... apps that will also run on PCs.

    Adrenaline. You'd be astounded how hard it is to hit anything when someone is shooting back at you.

    In DCS and most sims there are far more interesting places to do low-level flying. I dare any of you to take a Lightning or a TSR2 down the Grand Canyon in FS or X-Plane.

    I've found Europe to have the most variety of gameplay. North Atlantic gets my vote as well but the campaigns end up being very formulaic after a while.

    If you really want to enforce full realism then you need to sink both carriers first thing on your next mission.

    Time to get an old PC, load up Windows 98 and run some great flight sims of the past. TFX is still very playable.

    The small angle was used to both make sure that bombs hit (because there was still an error) and also to make sure the runway was truly unusable. A single crater or even a row of craters on one side can potentially leave a runway useable on the other side.
