  1. PC, that graphics glitch when going head on, lol, umm that could be the super accurate sniper AI everyone is complaining about over at the il2sturmovik.com forums. Pilot kills happen frequently and often during head ons. Try hitting F2 or something after that happens.
  2. Jeff, I would probably think that the friends of those dead Marines would have a very special place in their heart fro Mr. UN. Maybe a few special grenades as well. Think we should let them know?
  3. I enjoyed the heck out of it, although I wish the maps had been bigger and allowed different approaches.
  4. How is the cockpit? Will it be generic or look like the actual Vampire pit?
  5. Remind me to keep a towel between me and the belt from now on.
  6. The sucky thing is, if its released Summer of 2003, I'll be in the Academy (Hopefully) and won't have time to play it, lol.
  7. When the original Il-2 demo came out I played that thing all the time. I couldn't get enough of it.
  8. How do you raise the canopy?
  9. Well, I think ousting Saddam will make the sitiuation in Iraq totally reverse. Its not too bad duty being an occupation force in a grateful country. At least the Kurds will be grateful.
  10. I'd love for it to be that easy, but I'm gonna have to go with Ranger on this one. And, although I know it'll be tough for our guys, I don't even want to begin to imagine having to fight for the other side. They may have the classical advantages... but its hard to stop a tank with a slingshot under even the best of circumstances. Guess which side has the tanks, lol. One thing we might want to remember is how many people during the last war predicted a month long ground campaign, even a new Vietnam. If this war goes as well as the last, I'm gonna be hard pressed to act surprised when we finish things in a 3 day ground rush. We shall see.
  11. Yeah, Cats 3.2 I don't get any problems with OpenGL, or in FB, its just when I enable the perfect terrain textures. Then I get a full blown crash-to-not-even-beeping-PC-that-has-to-be-hard-rebooted, :x
  12. Anybody have any success getting the 'perfect' graphics to work with a Radeon 8500? *Actually not "starting things off", that honor really goes to Tahoman, lol
  13. w00t!!!
  14. I'd like to see one. The il2sturmovik.com forums are a bit too harsh and unfriendly for me. I'll take these forums any day of the week. FYI: I'm getting 25 - 40 fps in normal missions, occasionally bottoming out at 15 in campaigns. This is with my driver OpenGL settings maxed out, FSAA off, AA at 4x, 1152 x 864 32bit and 'excellent' settings in FB. AMD Athlon 1.4 ghz Radeon 8500 64mgb 768 PC-2100 DDR-RAM SB Live! X-Gamer 5.1 WinXP Saitek X-45 I love this game!
  15. Yasser Arafat (Sp?) and Ringo Starr Try and tell me they ain't the same. Ever seen the two of them together in the same place?
  16. Thats awesome! My godfather has a Kawasaki version, well I think its called a Mule anyway, but its nowhere as strack and hardcore as that one.
  17. Ranger, although I obviously wasn't around in the 70's, I've heard and read a lot about the problems between soldiers and civilians. Personally, it pisses the hell out of me to see people unwilling to serve and fight for their country have the gall to complain and insult those who are. That seems to me to be the ultimate of cowardice, hypocrisy and stupidity. I certainly hope that when I am in the military, the same doesn't happen to me. I don't know if I could take it. I have no problems with somebody complaining about anything, so long as they have made an effort to change it. If they are unwilling to make a personnal effort to change the situation, they deserve no right to complain. Please, I don't mean to offend anybody on this board, nobody at all (Unless they have a certain set of banned initials, ) because I consider just about everybody here my friend, no matter their political leanings. And above all, this is just my opinion, and I'm too stubborn to be swayed.
  18. Haha, seriously? Were they worse than those that weren't gamers?
  19. Yeah, at that time 18 years of experience was definately enough to beat an army of geriatric 30 year olds with plague. And nope, I don't know of any current 18 year old generals, at least in first world national armies, lol. Viedo games are getting more realistic then ever, stands to reason we should be getting some decent experience now at a younger age
  20. Alexander the Great ring any bells? But I have to agree with Chuck Yeager, "No matter the aircraft, the pilot with the most experience will wax the other's tale." Maybe not a perfect quotation, but the meaning is there.
  21. I have only the greatest respect for the current French soldiers, do mainly to their heroism and bravery during Dien Bien Phu. The problem has always been with the government and the higher leadership, not the ones out there doing the fighting.
  22. Damn man, definately going with the wrong people.
  23. Damn straight. AFJROTC TX20017 Support Squadron Commander, Cadet Major.
  24. rofl You hear about how somebody petitioned to rename it the Freedom Quarter? Thats going a bit too far, I think.
