  1. If the files on your File Page are outdated and need to be hidden, you have the ability to hide them. By hiding them it removes them from public view so they can't be downloaded. As a file's author you have that ability. Since our goal is preservation of works like a historical library our last resort should be to delete anything which includes the old files, the support topics, and meta data that goes along with that. If the file has issues and has absolutely no merit in staying then by all means tell us and one of us can remove it. The focus I was after was to give all author's the ability to manage their own files but as the author you will always have control over that file. That means if it's hidden it will still show in your library but it will show as hidden. Think of it this way. Hidden = File removed to backroom so it can't be downloaded. But this file can updated, changed, renamed, and otherwise edited to be re-released. By doing this it keeps the support topic, revision history, etc intact. In some cases author's have been uploading new files and starting an entire new support thread for different versions, not wrong just a little more messy. Deleted = File taken to the burn pit and lit on fire with yesterday's latrine buckets. I'm not a fan of deleting anything, defeats the purpose of preservation which was our goal from day one. If you're thinking of removing items just because you think it's clutter, I'd caution you to think otherwise. Ultimately you have the say over what you want downloaded, so hide the stuff you don't want to be seen and it won't be.
  2. @Nyghtfall Let me work down that somewhat toothy reply from the top to the bottom. As a regular member, read not a modder or staff, you won't see the things that you've hidden even though you can hide them. In most forums regular members don't have this option. The option to hide content is a function of the software, not configurable for your user type, it was something broken in the last update and has been fixed to work correctly. Either way your hidden content is not present on disk, support threads are gone, and history gone. If it is hidden by you or by us it is not visible to you or any other member in the public so how you saw something that is not visible to your user type is beyond me. Send me a screenshot and I'll dig further if this is otherwise. We do not as a rule delete things because we are a library aimed at preservation, that has always been our goal from day one. There is no confusion, zero. Provide a list of the files you want removed or just hide them and let me know you've done so and I'll remove them personally. I'm sorry your trust is a bit shattered, so is mine. We either move on together or mire in the mud, which side of the table are you on? If you want greater flexibility over your files get with Wrench and discuss upgrading your member type to Modder. Please address your concerns back to me so I can handle them personally. Thank you. Erik
  3. 2 files per day, been that way since we started it.
  4. We should always use recoverable storage by moving these types of files to the under review section. Deleting kills support threads which can never be recovered. As the file owner the proper move is to hide them. The file owner will still see them but they aren't visible to anyone else or for download. They were more correct in this setting/configuration than deleted. Is there a reason you want them to be fully removed or are you just trying to clean up you file list? You are the only one who sees them after hiding. Let me know so I can undo this before it's not reversible. Thank you.
  5. One of the good ones, cut from iron and diamond but chiseled and eased by the love of his grandchildren. @331Killerbee is missed. Good to have you around, make yourself at home.
  6. @MatiasMed Your Portu'glish looks great to me. Much better than my Engli'guise.
  7. All fixed.
  8. @ludo.m54 You got caught up in us restoring file screenshots. We've been editing the files and adding in screenshots then reverting those file dates so they don't show as being updated. Your file was an honest update and TBH I didn't think of that use case. All is not lost though, if you tell me which file exactly, link me because you have a lot of mirages on your file list, I will fix the updated date. I'm assuming you uploaded it approximately on Sunday 12:30 military server time (Zulu/GMT -5 hours).
  9. I had to run and check if TK was giving away his game, no surprises there. Looks around for advertising on our site, weird. It's a shame to hear such negativity when there should be appreciation. An entire community built around the entertainment of others. Nothing in this life is free, nothing. Someone or something pays. So now that you're able to download files that cost you nothing but cost all of us something, I'll kindly add, you're welcome. To the Modders who spend countless hours touching up a skin, modeling entire aircraft or boats to land them on, complete to the ground objects to support them, THANK YOU! To the moderators and site admin who spend countless hours answering questions, maintaining our library, and mostly giving me a bad time, which I probably deserve, THANK YOU! Look around; that tiny, little, trivial download that you pretend has no value has more value than you can realize. I'll send you the bill for the equipment and connectivity this little nothing runs on, happy to help and thanks for the offer. I will never say you're not one to miss a celebration. To mark the occasion of your account's second post and your ability to download, we got this. Well done you.
  10. Yep, it's all temporary. I go through the library at night and put each one them back in their place in history so the newest files float to the top again. If you see older files listing at the top, scan past them, the new files are still there.
  11. @Wrench Stuff the older versions of the same file in under-review, keep the newest version live, and we'll sort through the chaff in under-review later.
  12. By hand. We're having to recreate images for files we can and set default images for files we can't create images for. Yes the activity is real and we're painfully aware of it. Now why the post and what's the complaint?
  13. I'd pay an additional twenty-five dollars if they handed me the remote button to test the ejector seat.
  14. This is an old thread, 2017. Lot's of changes have happened since then. I do commend on your use of the search feature, 5 stars. Yes, when your account promotes to a full member you'll have access to change your profile image. New accounts don't have that option. Let me know if you can't find it after that happens, it should be very apparent. Good to have you here, welcome.
  15. Screw first class and warm food poisoning in an aluminum tray with a mediocre plastic glass of champagne, THIS is the ticket I want to buy!
