1. Patch Notes
--------------
 
This patch includes all the fixes from previous patch, and can
be applied to any version of the game.
 
The patch fixes some of the issues encountered by the users,
as well as provide some improvements to the game based on
user feedback.
 
The patch will delete any saved campaign in progress.
 
If you have installed any mods to the game, please be sure to
back them up prior to applying this patch. Patch will delete
files that have been changed (please see the list below). If
you wish to re-apply your mods that were deleted, we recommend
you extract patched file and make the changes on those.

* Fixed problems with terrain rendering on some ATI video cards.
 
* Terrain clipping near the edge of the screen is fixed.
 
* AI is adjusted to use rudder during dogfights.
 
* AI is tweaked to fire machineguns in loger burst.

Test terrain is made for guys who want to test their new made planes under easy conditions.
You can fly all missions over test terrain, including offensive and devensive patrols, balloon defending, balloon busting, recon, army cooperation and truck hunting.
 
It contains only 2 airfields and to target areas with one balloon each.

Test terrain Beta is freeware.

This is simply a new skin for the Camel F1 at Combat Ace created by Mikewhl and uploaded by Capun.
 
I'm not really one for fictional skins when there are so many real possibilities, but I've made an exception for James Bigglesworth - Biggles of 266.

This Skin Is For Bortdafarms (Dfw-CI)
mod of the STOCK DFW-CV
its based on a HANSA BRANDENBERG CI colours.
So u will need 2 get that zip and the Dva cockpit zip from HERE,i.e. COMBATACE also , if u dont have them already

The Vogesen, in french Vosges, are a mountain ridge along the former french german border. It devided the Elsass (Alsace) from Lothringen. The Elsass was till 1648 german, from 1648 to 1871 french and became german again in 1871. When the great war broke out french armies tried to attack from Fortress Belfort in direction of Mühlhausen (Muhlhouse), but had no real success. Also along the hills of the Vogesen mountains the war was hard and bitter. The german soldier fought here on german soil to defend the civilists in the Elsass lowlands, very often only some steps away from the last hills from where you have a beautifull look over the towns and villages.
Very hard were the fights around the hill Hartmannsweilerkopf (Hartmannswillerkopf).
 
I gave the towns and villages their old german names, to represent the time of the great war. This is not expression of desires of revanche which poissend the relations between germans and french since the french engagement during the 30 years war (1618 - 48). I'm glad that this bitter times are over and germans and french call friends each other.
 
Vogesen Terrain is still a Beta. Only the southern part of the terrain is finished. The most airfields are also not yet finished.

This skin represents the SPAD VII flown by Sgts Robert Rockwell, James Norman Hall, and Lt Antonine Arnoux de Maison-Rouge flying in the Lafayette Escadrille.
 
This skin can be installed to the default SPAD13 folder or you can download the SPAD13 to 12 and 7 conversion by Gr.Viper here at Combatace.com and install to the SPAD7 folder for more historical accuracy. Note: skin is not 100% accurate as it fits the Spad13 model-

This skin represents the SPAD VII flown by Capitaine Georges Thenault and American ace Raoul Lufbery flying in the Lafayette Escadrille. The butterfly emblem is the personal marking of Thenault and the three red coup marks are Lufbery's. (Coup marks come from Native American war markings on the sides of their horses.)

This skin represents the SPAD VII flown by American ace Raoul Lufbery flying in the Lafayette Escadrille. Also known to have been flown by Didier Masson, and other Lafayette pilots. Note that the swastika was an ancient good luck symbol long before Hitler used it.

This is a supplement to the Hi-Res Terrain Set by max188. It replaces a core set of 512x512 hi-res tiles with 1024x1024 tiles. You will notice increased detail in the main fields, trenches, and airfield at low altitude when using these tiles. This requires the Hi-Res Terrain set to already be installed.

Hi-res Terrain Set for Third Wire's First Eagles
 
This is a hi-res terrain set for First Eagles. It replaces all of the default terrain with repainted 512x512 tiles (most of the default is 256x256). This terrain set preserves the original locations of the trees and fields, and leverages some features of the original terrain. The result is a landscape that still has a similar feel as the stock terrain, but with much greater detail and visual interest.

Updated 1/31/07- Smaller download and terrain loads faster in game. Other minor changes. See readme for details.

Jagdgeschwader Nr.1 Oblt. Hermann Goering's Fokker D.VII (F) 294/18, circa July 1918. This requested skin features five-color irregular polygon wing camouflage, factory "streak" fuselage camouflage, and classic Jasta 11 colors.

If you found there was a missing roundel on the 28 Squadron Camel, this should fix it. Just replace the exisiting decal.ini file
 
Apologies again - it was my first attempt!

SE5a, 2 Sqn Australian Flying Corps, 1918
 
This is an very simple extra SE5a, using the original with the addition of Richard Kaminski's boomerang marking from the SPFA1 A-Team Camel, use of which is acknowledged.
 
Installation Instructions are included.
 
Updated at Charles' suggestion so that the nationality is Australian rather than RAF. No other change.

Jasta 13 Ltn d R Paul Wolff's Fokker DVII (OAW), serial unknown, circa September 1918. This requested skin features four-color irregular polygon camouflage, post-Büchner Jasta 13 colors, and Wolff's personal heraldry.
