DH.2 by John 'Aladar' Dawson
FM by the incredibly helpful and talented Charles
Well folks, this is my first airplane for the SF engine, and I'm hoping it'll live up to the hopes of the community. It's been alot of fun, and I hope y'all enjoy it.
Read the Readme.txt please.
EDIT:
Thanks to BigBouncer, who posted a great tip for increasing FPS. If you don't want to redownload the file, open up DH2.ini in the readme and change CastShadow=TRUE to Castshadow=FALSE
It aughta improve the FPS. :)
The BE12a was a single seat version of the BE2e introduced in 1917. It was intended to be an improvement over the BE12, but the wing configuration did not improve maneuverability very much and it was only produced in small numbers. Like the BE12, it carried a synchronized Vickers gun mounted on the side of the fuselage and could carry up to 230 pounds of bombs. The BE12a was used briefly on the Western Front but saw much of its service in Palestine.
My BE12a has three loadouts for light, medium, amd heavy bombs. I have included a green paint (PC10) skin and a full set of number decals. My skinning templates are included in the download.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the BE12a, and for providing reference materials for the plane.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE12a" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE12a" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "RAFBE12a". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RAFBE12a folder into the Decals/RAFBE12a folder you just made.
The BE12 was a single seat version of the BE2c introduced in 1916. It had the wings of the BE2c, but had a larger, 12 cylinder (RAF4a) engine. There was a synchronized Vickers gun mounted on the side of the fuselage and it could carry up to 230 pounds of bombs. The more powerful engine made the BE12 a faster plane, but it didn't have the maneuverability required for a fighter. The BE12 was used mostly for recon and light bombing missions.
My BE12 has three loadouts for light, medium, amd heavy bombs. I have included two skins, a green paint (PC10), and a clear doped linen skin. A full set of number decals and my skinning templates are included in the download.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the BE12, and for providing reference materials for the plane.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE12" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE12" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "RAFBE12". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RAFBE12 folder into the Decals/RAFBE12 folder you just made.
The BE2e was an improved variant of the BE2c introduced in 1916. It had a longer upper wing and a shorter lower wing with a single set of struts. It also had a slightly smaller horizontal tail. The new configuration improved the plane's maneuverability, but did little to improve its overall performance. I have included a light bomb load, but the plane's rate of climb suffers somewhat when carrying bombs.
I have included two skins, a green paint (PC10), and a brown paint (PC12). A full set of number decals and my skinning templates are included in the download.
The gunner in the BE2e sat in front of the pilot and either had multiple guns, or was able to move the gun between multiple mounts. The game engine does not allow this, so I set up the data file to limit the gunner's aim to the upper rear of the plane. However, I provided alternate lines in the FM which will allow you to widen the gunner's aim, but that makes the gun pass through the struts, and sometimes shoot through the wing.
Instructions for changing the gunner's range of motion are included in the download.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the BE2e and for testing and helping with details of the model.
Thanks to Mike Dora for identifying and helping me fix problems with the gunner.
Thanks to Nicholas Bell for correcting the hit box coordinates for this plane.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE2E" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "RAFBE2E" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create new folder named "RAFBE2E". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/RAFBE2E folder into the Decals/RAFBE2E folder you just made.
The Farman F.40 was a joint design by the two Farman Brothers, Maurice and Henri, combining features of the MF.11 and HF.22. Like the other Farman designs, placing the engine in the rear gave the gunner an open field of fire. The F.40 was used for reconnaissance and as a light bomber and was widely used by most of the Entente forces. The long wingspan gave stability, but made it slow to maneuver. French squadrons began replacing it in 1916.
My plane includes loadouts for a light bomb load and for Le Prieur rockets. I have included three skins, French, Belgian, and Russian. Decals and my skinning templates are included in the download.
I have included ojcar's "DummyMachineGun" data, Peter01's Lewis Machine Gun data and P10ppy's Le Prieur rockets with this download.
Warning
The Farman F.40 has a wider wingspan than First Eagles expects so if you start on the runway, your wings will be touching the wings of the planes next to you. This will cause an immediate collision and you or other planes in your flight may lose their wingtips as soon as the game starts. Best to start in the air, or modify the airfield.ini in the terrain folder to space out the planes on the runway.
Credits
Thanks to Ojcar for making the data file for the Farman F.40 and for making the data for the dummy machine gun. And for helping me with the installation package for FE2.
Thanks also to P10ppy who made the Le Prieur rockets, and to Peter01 who made the data for the Lewis Gun.
Thanks also to Crowford who provided resources for the Farman cockpits.
-----------------------------
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file. Move the folder named "FarmanF40" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file. Move the folder named "FarmanF40" into your FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "FarmanF40". Move the folder named "D" from your Aircraft/FarmanF40 folder into the Decals/FarmanF40 folder you just made.
You may not need to install the guns or rockets, they have been used on other planes and you may already have them. Instructions for installing the guns and rockets, if you should need them, are in a separate file included in this download.
Russia was the only country that used the French designed Farman F.30. While no other allies adopted it, the F.30 was the primary plane of the Imperial Russian Air Service and the Russians built about 400 of them at the Dux factory near Moscow beginning in 1915. It was used throughout WWI and was used by both sides during the Russian Civil Wars.
The Farman F.30 was powered my a Salmson 150hp water-cooled engine, had a single machine gun for the observer, and was said to be able to maneuver as well as the Eindeckers it faced. It was a general purpose plane, used originally as a fighter, and later for recon, artillery spotting, and light bomber missions.
My plane includes a loadout for a light bomb load. Decals and my skinning templates are included in the download.
I have included ojcar's "DummyMachineGun" data, Peter01's Lewis Machine Gun data in the download.
Warning
The Farman F.30 has a wider wingspan than First Eagles expects so you should install my "Airfields for Large Planes" available in the Combat Ace downloads area. Otherwise, when starting on the runway, your wings may be touching the wings of the planes next to you. This will cause an immediate collision and you or other planes in your flight may lose their wingtips as soon as the game starts.

The Anatra D was a predecessor to the Anatra DS. The stock plane was powered by a Gnome rotary engine and armed with a single machine gun for the observer.
I have made a "field mod" version with a fuselage mounted machine gun for the pilot. Anades with additional machine guns are known to have existed, but I haven't found any photos of them. I added the gun for the pilot in what seemed to be a logical position.
The Anatra D was used mostly for reconnaissance, but also as a fighter and light bomber. After overcoming some initial design problems, it entered service in May, 1916 and was produced in relatively large numbers. Many of them survived the war and were used in the fighting in Eastern Europe after the end of World War I.
I have included three skins, two linen and a grey paint. A full set of number decals and a loadout for light bombs are included. I have also included my skinning templates for those who wish to make their own skins.
Credits:
My thanks to Ojcar for making the original data.ini for this plane. I have modified Ojcar's file to include the additional gun.
Installation instructions:
For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AnatraDMod" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder.
For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "AnatraDMod" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "AnatraDMod". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/AnatraDMod folder into the Decals/AnatraDMod folder you just made.
The Vickers FB5 was the first British plane designed specifically as a fighter. It was nicknamed the "Gunbus" because the pusher style aircraft had a factory installed machine gun mounted in the front, giving the gunner a wide angle of fire.
Although underpowered for its size, the large tail surfaces made it quite maneuverable. The Gunbus was an effective fighter for its time and was used to create the first fighter squadron, the RFC No. 11 Squadron. The Vickers FB5 was quickly outclassed and replaced by other fighters but it made a lasting impression on pilots.
I have included two skins with decal ini's for both the Standard Linen used by Britain and France, as well as an early British skin with flags instead of roundels. I have also included a set of serial numbers which will be applied randomly. I have included my skinning templates for the plane and the cockpit.
Historical Notes
The serial numbers are fictitious, but in the correct range for most FB5s.
Details of the instrument panel are mostly conjecture.
Several kinds of gun mounts were used on the Gunbus, most of them required considerable upper body motion for the gunner. In First Eagles, it is not possible to animate the gunner, so my gun mount is fictitious, but at least allows the gunner some freedom of movement.
Credits
My thanks to Ojcar for once again making an excellent data file for the Vickers Gunbus.
My thanks to Nix for providing the sound for the Gnome engine
Version 2 - Ojcar has created a new FM which improves the fighting performance of the AI. A fake machine gun has been added which causes the pilot of AI planes to be more active in pursuing enemy aircraft. Installation instructions for the new gun are in a separate file.
Installation Instructions
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "VickersFB5" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder. You also need to move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into your FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "VickersFB5" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Airplanes folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "VickersFB5". Move the folder named "D" from the Airplanes/VickersFB5 folder into the Decals/VickersFB5 folder you just made. You also need to move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into your FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
To install the fake machine gun, follow the instructions in the file named "InstructionsForInstallingGuns".
Hi Guys, this is a skin i did a while back ,and put on my brothers website, i was going to upload it here also but forgot to , so here it is for any1 who doesn't have it already
She's not a WWI aircraft, but she's set up for FE. Definitely Beta, but if you want something with some zip against those Fokkers, well, try her out.

Bristol M.1C by Andre Simpson Version 2A - Feb 25 2007
This is a partial re-work of my original M.1C.
The new version includes more detail on the wings, gun animation, damage nodes/graphics, revised hit boxes and collision points
and a tweaked FM. Any 3rd party skins should work fine, I've tried to match the original mapping.
- Installation -
Unzip the BristolM1C folder into your First Eagles "/Objects/Aircraft/" directory. You will need to re-install any 3rd party skins that you used on the prior version.

The Hanriot HD.2 was a French, single seat float plane version of the Hanriot HD.1. It had a larger tail, shorter wings, and mounted 2 Vickers machine guns. It was used by the French as an interceptor, defending seaplane bases, and as an escort for reconnaissance planes.
Since it's a float plane, the Hanriot HD.2 works best in the North Sea terrain, or in Flanders, Gibraltar or other terrain that has a lot of water. The plane will actually take off and land from a conventional airfield, but it looks strange to see the floats going under the ground.
I have included two skins, a generic linen skin and a 4 color camo skin. The camo skin may be fictitious and uses the French 4 color camo pattern, but with blue and grey colors instead of greens and browns. I have included a set of decals. My skinning templates are included with the download.

This is the last machine that Bort' built for 1st eagles that I'm aware of.
The S1 wasn't in the original upload because it hadn't been done untill
later, by which time the both of us had pretty much left the scene.
As Bortdafarms web page is long gone, I'm adding the S1 to the collection here at CombatACE.
Disclaimer: This zip file(MartinsydeS1.zip) is the sole work and property of Bortdafarm.

The S-16 was designed by Igor Sikorsky as fighter escort for bombers and was the first Russian-built aircraft with a synchronized machine gun. The plane was small and highly maneuverable, but had a smaller engine than intended and was outclassed by German aircraft of the time.
The dual axle landing gear was designed for landings on rough ground. Several versions of the S-16 were produced with variations in engines and wing configurations. Relatively few S-16s were produced, but were used throughout the war and in the Russian Civil War.
This plane carries the markings of the Eskadra Vozdushnykh Korablei (Squadron of Air Ships), the world's first strategic bomber group.
I have included four skins, several plain linen, and one gray-green. I have included my skinning templates so others can make new skins if they want.
Credits
And my thanks to ojcar, who created the FM to reproduce the nimble characteristics of the plane.
My thanks to Nix, who provided the sound for the Gnome 80hp engine (and revised it until I was happy.)
Historical Notes
The Russian Banner with the yellow square and two-headed eagle was the imperial banner and was not used on aircraft, but the replica in Connecticut uses it, so I used it on mine. The gray-green version uses a more accurate fuselage marking. If historical accuracy is important to you, change the decals.ini for texture set 1 to use "EVKBanner" instead of "ImperialBanner".
Wings Palette shows the gray-green plane with a red triangle on the fuselage. I believe this was a Bolshevik plane in which red was painted over the standard Russian markings. I used the standard markings on mine.
Version 2 Notes
I have made slight changes to model, especially to the way the plane is rigged, and Ojcar has made a new FM for this plane. I have also improved the skins and made new skins for some different Russian squadrons.
Version 3 Notes
I have made all new LODs, with higher detail and lower poly count, and with all new skins. Ojcar has made a new FM for this plane.
Installation instructions
This is a completely new plane, if you have already installed the Sikorsky S-16, delete it and replace it with this version, including the decals. The sound file remains the same.
For FE1 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SikorskyS16" into the "Aircraft" folder in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. If you don't already have it, move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
For FE2 - Unzip the file and move the folder named "SikorskyS16" into the "Aircraft" folder in the FirstEagles/Objects folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "SikorskyS16". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/SikorskyS16 folder into the Decals/SikorskyS16 folder you just made. If you don't already have it, move the sound file "gnome80m4.wav" into the FirstEagles/Sounds folder.
