    2. Mig29G and Su27SK/China J11 modified FM

Credits to Marcfighter and Lindr2 for their excellent work on the original FMs

      1. SU-27SK/China J11 FM modified based on Marcfighter's original model

It has been a quite disappointment to see little discussion about the performance issue of Marcfighter's SU27SK after 2008 patch of WOX series. I doubt if there is still anyone other than me playing su27 nowadays.

The issue is quite apparent - under hard mode, su-27 has too much maneuvability that makes AI players run this bird into endless cobra-like movements in aircombat, which is an obviously unsustainable way leading to eventual disadvantage in dogfights due to low energy. The FM is also not stable in yaw leading to uncontrollable rolls at high AoA. When we "human" controlling this bird, it is also likely to have a blackout every 2 seconds.

So there is where I start tinkering - beat the trend to run into high AoA, while also maintain an overall agility. In this model, You find a much less effective stabilizer, it has smaller angle, and faster rotating speed. The aileron is also modifed to synchronize the motion of rotating. Drag is also modified to fit this change.

The test drive shows quite a good result - slightly better than the stock F15A, while enable AI play to maintain its energy. I play a few 12 x Su27 vs 16 F15+8 F4 case under hard/hard setting and had the chance to win out in all the case.

      2. Mig 29G FM based on Lindr2's recent release of Mig 29 BM FM.

First I would like to thank Lindr2 for presenting us his serious Mig 29 BM FM, which is based on real data from russian/soviet references. As such I don;t have to modify most parts of this FM. most of my change focused on beating the trend to rotate back at x-horizon at low speed (IAS < 350kmh). A minor change also fix the problem that the model rotate the aileron and stabilizer at the wrong direction.

The overall outcome is also pleasing. The modified FM gives you a 50/50 chance to beat the stock F16 in WOI, hard mode. AI also run it well and can fight F18 at close to 1:1 shotdown ratio.

    3. Soviet Pilot - Early

This is a soviet style pilot of the first supersonic-jet era. He is wearing an all closed pressure flight helmet with visor.
As always, this is freeware under the conditions of the "freeware licensing" topic.
No readme included. Just place the files to your "aircraft" folder and add the pilot name "PilotWP" to the entry in the aircrafts Data.ini file!

    5. F-4N Phantom II -Update Pak-

      F-4N Phantom II Updat Pak -- for SF/WoV/WoE/ -maybe-WoI and possibly SF2??

This is a small package of ini to bring the F-4N more up-to-date with the last round of patching.

Included are updated data, loadout (more in the notes section on that below), cockpit and avionics ini.
The changes are mostly based in the data and loadout inis, bringing them up to spec with to the post-patch world. (ie: updated AI sections and flight models). I've included the main ini (ie: F-4N.ini) as I made a few small changes there as well.
Other additions are the inclusion of an on-board ECM suite, with chaff/flares and internal jammer.

This has been tested in WoE (my main Laboratory of choice..) As it was originally built for SF, no worries there. WoV should also be no problem. It -should- work in WoI, but you may have to extract the F-4B LODs and SHD, as well as all the F-4J cockpit bits, as I don't believe they're anywere in any of the WoI Object.cats.
For SF2 users ... don't know what you to tell ya...you're on your own! But it -should- work, given that the B & J Phantoms already exist in that game.

As I'm not a FM Guru, this is mostly based on educated guesswork, but it flys and fights fine for me!!
Obviously, you'll need to have the original aircraft to add this update to. It's available at Column 5's site:

      http://www.column5.us/aircraft2.shtml

As you've come to expect, there's detailed install instructions, and an interesting "General Notes" section in the enclosed readme ... so, do yourself a favor, and read the curssed thing!!!!

      Good Hunting!
      Wrench
      kevin stein

ps: the VF-111 skin seen in the screenie above is NOT included -in fact, it's just inis! It's a skin from a B model, with a simple edit of the decals ini, and viola! New F-4N skins...details in the readme

    12. F-107 'Ultra' Sabre for SFP1/SFG/WOV/WOE

      Version 1.0

      Thanks to the following folks:

TK - For the ThirdWire series of sims.
Bunyap - The original modder who created the F-107 MAX file and released it to Dave.
Dave - For providing the original model to me, decals, texture updates, loading screens
      Klavs81 - Original textures
dwcace - For providing me with additional reference material
To my fellow Combatace moderators - For helping me beta test and work out bugs.
Any errors or mistakes are entirely mine.

      What you will need first:

      Thirdwire Weapons Editor - http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_tools.htm

Strike Fighters Project 1/Strike Fighters Gold/Wings Over Vietnam/Wings Over Europe - One of these are needed to provide the wing fuel tanks, some decals, and either the F-104 or F-105 cockpit.

This addon will currently not work properly with Strike Fighters 2 or Wings Over Israel (19 Jan 09).

      Aircraft Information:

      From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-107

The North American F-107, nicknamed "Ultra Sabre", was North American Aviation's entry for a United States Air Force tactical fighter-bomber design competition of the 1950s. The F-107 incorporated many innovations and radical design features, and was based on the F-100 Super Sabre. The competition was eventually won by the F-105 Thunderchief, and the F-107 prototypes ended their lives as test aircraft.

The F-107A was originally designed as a tactical fighter-bomber version of the F-100, and was entered into a competition sponsored by the Air Force. Originally designated F-100B, the aircraft featured a recessed weapons bay under the fuselage, as well as an all-moving vertical fin and a control system which permitted the plane to roll at supersonic speeds.

The aircraft's most distinguishing feature is its Variable Area Inlet Duct, mounted in an unconventional position directly above and just behind the cockpit, which automatically controlled the amount of air fed to the jet engine. The air intake was moved from the chin position (an arrangement later adopted for the F-16) to the unusual dorsal location as the USAF had required the carriage of an underbelly semi-conformal nuclear weapon. The original chin intake caused a shockwave that interferred in launching this weapon. The implications this had for the survivability of the pilot during ejection were troubling. It also severely limited view to the rear, although this was not considered terribly important for a bomber aircraft, it is notable during an era when it was assumed air combat would be via guided missile exchanges outside visual range.

Extensive design changes resulted in its redesignation from F-100B to F-107A before the first prototype flew.

The F-107 was never given an official name, but was sometimes informally called the "Ultra Sabre," referring to North American's earlier fighter designs, the F-86 Sabre and the F-100 Super Sabre. The flight crews referred to it as the "Man Eater," in reference to the position of the air intake directly above the cockpit.

The designation "F-107A" was the only one assigned to the aircraft, though "YF-107A" is often used in publications.

      Notes and Limitations:

Part of the SWOTUSAF series of aircraft.

Because the real aircraft never proceeded beyond the prototype stage, loadouts, mission capabilities and operational paint schemes are projections only.

3 skins are provided - The original prototype scheme, a natural metal scheme, and a Vietnam era scheme.

Because this aircraft was in competition with the F-105, we projected that it would have taken over the Thud's role in Vietnam, in addition to the air superiority/interceptor role the original F-100 was designed for. So loadouts reflect this.

The aircraft refers to some decals, visual effects, sounds, ejection seat and fuel tanks from the F-100D. The cockpit is based on a single engine fighter with a radar using the J75...either the F-104 or F-105 works fine...it defaults to the F-104 cockpit. You will have to install any other cockpit yourself.

The FM is mainly based on the F-100D, and so shares that FMs limitations. The real test article reached 2.35 Mach...this model has gone up to 2.2 Mach in level flight.

Animations for the canopy and air refueling probe use Animation control keys 1 and 2. Check your Controls page to figure out what keys you need to hit.

This is FREEWARE only, NO money is allowed to be made on the contents of these files, in whole or in part.

Feel free to redistribute, as long as the original authors are given appropriate credit.

    13. Libya - Version 3.0 Ulitmate Final -

Libya Terrain Upgrade, Version 3.0 -- For SF/WoV/WoE and probably WoI/FE/SF2

Ok, I know, I know...I said I'd NEVER go back to this terrain, but since the 2.0 FINAL was released I've learned a bit more on how to use the Terrain Editor...to wit:

There has been extensive retiling of many of the major areas on the map, replacing LOTS of mismatched or ill-fitting tiles. The entire coast of North Africa, from Tunisa to the Libyan/Egyptian border and been completely retiled with matching units. Sicily and Greece, and the 'boot' of the toe of Italy have also been extensively retiled. Approximately 75% of the map tiles have been replaced -BY HAND!!!!-, making a much smoother and better looking map. Unfortunately, a couple of the target areas required small location adjusments, so that had to be corrected as well.

Included in the package are new HFD, TFD, data and targets inis. The data ini has been fully updated to make use of the terrrain effects as per the 9/08 & 10/08 patches. Adjustments to sea level and uping the Alpha Object count have also been implemented in the data ini. Some trees are around, but not as many as I'd like.

You =MUST= have the orginal Libya 2.0 terrain to make use of the Update Pak. It's available in the CombatAce download section at the following url:

      http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=6652

The targets ini in this pak includes the "Targets Hot Fix", and the new planning maps from that package. So, don't worry if you don't have the Hot Fix pack.
So, really...consider this the Ultimate Final Version....I'm NOT going back to it again. Promise!!

= This has been tested in WoE (my main Laboratory of choice..) As it was originally built for SF, no worries there. WoV should also be no problem. It -should- work in WoI and First Eagles, but you'll still need one of the Original 3 Terrains ™ for the terrain cat reachback. This, however, has =NOT= been tested. You use it in these games (WoI & FE) at your own risk.
For SF2 users ... don't know what you to tell ya...you're on your own! =

As usual, there's more relatively simple install instructions in the enclosed readme. So, give it a once over...

      Happy Landings!

and slapped it on a F-16C. The quality of the image isn't as good as
it is on the ADF, but I think that has something to do with how the
      model was unwrapped.

Most of the credits should go to suhsjake. I only did a quick and simple
      piece for this.

    21. F-4E sharkmouth fix

In case you didn't download my long gun mod for the F-4E-35, here are the decals.ini files for the stock F-4E/long gun mod and the short gun F-4E-35. Also the sharkmouth decals which are slightly different.

Add the decals to the Objects-decals folder of course. Add the decals.ini for the version you are using to each texture folder.

    22. USAF F-4 Tailcodes Version 2

This is a complete overhaul to the USAF Southeast Asia Phantom II tailcode decals I did some time ago. It is now working for the post October patch for WOV as well as the original install versions. It depicts every USAF camouflaged F-4C/D/E Phantom II unit which flew in Southeast Asia from late 1966 until 1975 (a total of 66 schemes).

All new decal art is provided, and many minor corrections were made as new information came to light. The textures are still 1024 pixel but should be considered as a placeholder until my newer higher resolution camo textures are finished. The original random F-4 serial numbers are included if you don't already have them. The new squadronlist.ini has many additional entries, but the default entry designations are unchanged so that you may still fly any missions or campaigns without any editing (although I have revised the descriptions).

As before, it adds correct fin tip colors to the vertical fin tips and RHAW antenna housing, and wingtip tape light decals as appropriate for the time periods. Also included is a nose landing gear door decal with the last three digits of the serial number - which is repeated on the inside of the nose gear side fairing door (for F-4Ds only for non-TAC serials 000 thru 039). Although not appearing on every PACAF F-4D, this was very common on many F-4Ds in Southeast Asia. I have presented the most typical (and sometimes more colorful) markings for units - and in some cases even uncoded aircraft (as was typical at Udorn from late 1972 through 1973).

Note that many squadrons have multiple entries in the squadron pull-down list, depending upon how many schemes a unit used. (Many squadrons have five or more entries).

      Enjoy,

      Mike Druzolowski

    24. Canary Islands

Canary Islands Terrain -for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and maybe SF2 & FE?

This is a small map mod that was sent to me, partly started, by Crusader (IIRC) . I went ahead and targetized it, did some minor retiling (including creating a new "DesertAB1" tile for use under the runways), and generally did what I could to finish it off.

This is a VERY small map, I'd guess in the 250x250 km range, so there is a distinct possiblity of running into The Wall. Hopefully, I've gotten all the movement routes well within. If there is, or anyone knows of a way to expand it.....do let me know and I'll targetize the other islands....

The data ini makes use of all the latest 'goodies' added by the 9/08 & 10/08 patches as to effects rendering. Included are new targets, types, movements inis and tiles. Everything is included to make install as easy as possible. Even the GroundObjects used are ALL stock types, so nothing new has been added. One thing, however, there are NO SAM sites on either side. Given the small size of the map, one could find himself under fire from wheels up to whereever you're going!
Several new flags have been added; the Spanish flag and for the 'enemy' side, I just reused the "Global Sedition" banner. However, 2 new ones have been added for the Bad Guys ... consider them the 'Easter Eggs' for this terrain.

This has been tested in WoE (my main Laboratory of choice..) As it was originally built for SF, there should be no problems .
Vista users should also have no problem with terrain effects, as the latest round of patching has apparently cleared up that problem. If, however, you've not patched your game install, I've left the "Notes for Vista Users" section intact, with instructions on commenting or editing the shaders sections.

      Happy Landings!

(this is one time I think the readme is bigger than the upload itself....)

PLEASE read this entire ReadMe all the way through before installing; there are some issues I've encountered that need some explaining, and this will give you a better understanding of what I've trying to accomplish.

    25. Yugo MIG-21PFM (L-14)

Another Yugo Mig with another complete working number decal set for all Thirdwire's jet sims.
Included, as usual, the picture that inspired the skin and the readme.
Quite "real", I think, to add a little more sim flavor to our skies.
More to come, now in testing flights.

      Good night from here.
