SF2 A-1H/J Skyraider (mcz) Remod Pack by MontyCZ 1/8/2024
-For SF2, Any and All-
Another 1stGen Salvage Project...
This is an SF2 Remod of MontyCZ's A-1H Skyraider. Historically this was the VERY first aircraft mod released for SF1 in 2005. While the model still has some issues (see "Notes"), it's fully functional, with some limitations, in the SF2 environment.
This mod is supplied with just about all the original (many rebuilt) skin sets I could find from the 1stGen SF mods section and from Marcfighters. These skin sets cover US Navy, US Air Force and South Vietnam Air Force units.
You have ...
USN:
VA-35 "Black Panthers" USS Saratoga, 1959 Med cruise, (Beirut crisis?)
VA-52 "Kinghtriders" USS Ticonderoga, 1966-67 VN cruise
VA-65 "Tigers" USS Intrepid, 1960-61 Med Cruise
VA-75 "Sunday Punchers" USS Independence, mid-1962 SEA-VN cruise
VA-145 "Swordsman" USS Ranger 1958-59 WesPac (tagged "VA145E")
VA-176 "Thunderbolts" USS Intrepid, VN cruise 1966-ish (bumblebee art)
VNAF:
1st FS, Bien Hoa, 1961 (VNAF1 - overall very light grey, blue/red devil fues band )
514th FS, Dan Nang ~1963 (VNAF2 - overall medium grey, tiger stripe fues band)
518th FS, Bien Hoa AB ~1970 (VNAF3 - 3 tone SEA camo, yellow/black checks fues band)
USAF:
602nd SOS, 56th SOW (various RVN & Thai bases 1962-1970)
2nd SOS, 56th SOW (nite black unders, ~1968)
There is also an extra blank USN skin called, oddly enough, "USNGrey1" This can be used to create any other units as one desires in the Gull Gray/White scheme.
The texture set ini for each skin has a small notation at the bottom with historical notes.
While many skins had to be remade, some are still 'as issued' (un-retouched). All are in bmp format. As is usual, serial/BuNums are as historically accurate as possible. Those 100% are marked with the star (*), those correct, but unable to match to a modex are marked with the plus/cross (+), those with no mark are generic. All skins have been updated to use the last known LOD (5/2009), and have been updated to use the latest decal style. Decal randomization is TRUE. For those units listed in the game's SquadronList ini, my (patent pending) 'fake SqTail' decal is used to activate their name displayed on the Loadout screen. The SF2 'date switch is used for all services on their respective skin sets. Sounds and drop tanks are included. All weapons used are stock in-game 3rd Wire items. The data ini has been brought up, as much as possible, to current standards.
When in-game, you'll see
A-1H/J Skyraider (MCZ)
on the Aircraft Selection dropdown. This will differenize this one (MontyCZ) from the 3rd Wire or Razbam Skyraiders. This mod DOES (sorta) cover both the H & J variants, as there's very little (actual) difference between them. The wing fold is active, it uses the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/9. The canopy CANNOT manually be controled; it's linked to the flaps.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. Also, give the "Notes" a browse, as it explains certain issues this model has, and the change logs.
Good Hunting and Happy Landings!

SF2 F3D-2/EF-10B Skyknight by Coyote Aerospace 1/1/2024
-For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Recommended)
This is the release of AngelP's F3D-2/EF-10 "Skyknight". It's being released as a "provisional Beta", due to the LOD needing more work. But rest assured, it's been 'tested to destruction', and other than needing a few more seperated meshes, is fully functional.
The aircraft has been split into two differing birds, one the night/all weather fighter for the 1950s (F3D-2) and the Vietnam War era stand-off/escort jammer (EF-10B). Due to the need for certain types of electronics (avionics), 2 different cockpits have been used.
The aircraft(s) include the following skin sets:
F3D-2:
VC-3 (USN) in standard overall Dark Gloss Navy Blue
VMF(N)-513 -
VMF(N)-531 - both in overall Night Black, USMC night fighters during the Korean War
EF-10B:
VMCJ-1 in standard Gull Grey/White
Most marking are decals; excepting a few squadron flashes. Decal randomization is TRUE. As expected, as many Modex numbers as possible have been matched to their BuNums. These are marked with the star (*). Those unmarked could not be matched, or are just 'generic' in nature. Included are pilot figures, drop tanks (ini only) and the EF-10 gets external jammer and chaff pods. This aircraft is NOT carrier qualfied, although the wings fold with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/9, and the canopy hatch with Shift/0.
When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection dropdown you'll see for each:
F3D-2 Skyknight (CAF)
EF-10B Skyknight (CAF)
these will differentiate ours from any others you might (or most likely DON'T) have.
As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. If there's any Notes, give them a read too! :)

SF2 C-123B/K Provider ReMod Pack 11/2/2022
-For SF2 (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)-
This is a remod/update package of the C-123B & C-12K Provider cargo transport by Dels from 2009. This package contains the following items ---
C-123B:
USAFSilver - 390th Troop Carrier Group
USAFSEA - 3 tone SEA camo. 19th Air Commando Squadron, 315th Air Command Group (1965<)
C-123K:
USAFSEA - 309th ACS, 315th ACW
VNAF - 423rd Transport Squadron
AirAmerica - NMF
AFRES - 731st TAS, 901st TAW Westover AFB, MA (<1974) (NEW!!!)
All serial numbers are 100% hisorically correct for each of the skins on both aircraft. However, I was unable to run down serials to units. So, consider them 'generic' in that regard. Decal randomization is true. New decals for all but "Air America" skin. ALL skins remain in their "as issued" 1stGen bmp format. The SF2 'date switch' is used on on the C-12B to switch from NMF to 3-tone camo; it is also used on the 123K, as the VNAF skin becomes active in 1970, and the AFRES skin post-Vietnam in 1974. The "airdropable" weapons are also included. New sounds and hangar & loading screens are also included. The flight model remains "as issued". See "change Log" for full more details.
As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! ALL original readmes have been included, when discoverable.
Happy Landings!

Royal Danish Air Force Thunderjets.
Basic modding skills are required to run this mod. (copy/paste, mod folder structure, etc.)
Install:
Copy and paste specific folders into the correct destination.
Mod requires new fuel tanks that are added to the mod - generally RF version uses new fuel tanks and recon wing tip pods.
In the game under a prefix. KDF. * you will find F-84E , F-84G and RF-84G
* Kongelige Danske Flyvevåbnet
F-84E served very shortly for testing purposes, and F-84G ended active service in 1961. RF-84G was a European poor-man recon aircraft, using modified fuel tanks for a camera pod. Several countries used a similar concept for interim recon flight in the case of Denmark they were waiting for RF-84F. Two different recon pod setups are added, also counterbalance fuel tank and additional Fletcher fuel tanks.
RF-84G - KA-F and KA-G never received 'RF mod' but served in 729 Esk FR flight, during these years.
This is a very old model with some flaws....but as long as we do not have a new one I made new skins.
All skins are in 4096x4096 format based on new templates. You can easily resize as needed.
During service years, after maintenance, airframes were not always returned to the previous original squadron - resulting in a mess of squadron colors (until someone in the squadron repainted again) - but I believe I have the correct squadron colors for those years represented in a mod.
All serial numbers are historically correct for specific squadrons/years of service in the Danish Air Force.
Check weapon names in loadout.ini and sounds to match your files.

SF2 F-105D Thunderchief by ArmorDave Update Pack 12/3/2023
= For SF2, Any and All =
* Full-5 Merged reccomended *
** 1stGen Salvage Operation #7 **
This is a revamp and reissue ArmorDave's F-105D Thunderchiefs for the SF2 Environment (tm). These aircraft were first released in 2004, actually predating their 3rd Wire arrival in Wings Over Vietnam. These were among the first 3-party add-ons for the Strike Fighters series.
This mod is split into two aircraft:
F-105D-25 (NMF) (actually covers all early D model Thuds)
F-105D-31 (SEA 3 Tone) (Vietnam and later)
The -25 is equivilant to the stock 3W F-105D, while the -31 is pretty much the same as the 3W F-105D_66; in fact it HAS a 1966 start date.
The -25 has 3 skins/decal sets:
7th TFS "Bunyaps" 49th TFW - USAFE Spangdahlem Air Base, West Germany
562nd TFS, 23rd TFW - (shark mouth)
563rd TFS "Ace Of Spades", 23rd TFW -both at McConnel AFB, then Takhali RTAFB
The -31 also has 3 skin/decal sets:
333rd TFS "Lancers", 355TFW
357th TFS "Licking Dragons", 355TFW - both at Takhali RTAFB
149th TFS, Virginia ANG (auto start date 1971)
The SF2 'date swtich' will turn on the VA ANG skin in 1971(ish). All skins remain in their original bmp format. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Each unit has 24 historical serial and/or buzz numbers. As I always do, those marked with a star (*) are 100% correct for the unit. Those marked with a cross/plus sign (+) while serving in the same Wing, could =NOT= be run down to a particular squadron. Those aircraft with 'nose art' or name badges on the wings (333rd & 357th) are all new, and match their real life aircraft (ie: name ---> serial). As all the squadrons, excepting the VA ANG skin, are listed in the game's Squadron List, those displayed names are activated via Level=1 decals. Drop tanks are supplied for both aircraft, in NMF and Camo, as is a new pilot figure. All other weapons used are stock 3rd Wire, excepting any AGM-12 Bullpups you may want to load. (see notes for more info on loadouts)
When in-game, you'll see on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown listing ...
F-105D-25 Thunderchief (AD)
F-105D-31 Thunderchief (AD)
This will diferentiatalize them from the stock 3W or any others that you may have (or not). The "AD", of course, recognizes ArmorDave's contribution to SF.
As always, fairly easy to follow yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them! Also, please read the Notes section for more expositions on which, what, why, how and/or who (whom?). For the historical records, all original readmes are included.
Good Hunting!

This has been a labor of love for my all-time favorite fighter aircraft. The service period of this aircraft fits perfectly with the time period that the Strike Fighters 2 game engine gives its best: Gun armed jet fighters with short range missiles and early/ limited avionics.
Changes:
- The ‘SF2V Air & Ground War Expansion v.2.0 Gold’ and ‘F-8 DATA & LOADOUT v1.0 update’ here at CA were used as a starting point for this project.
- Maximum G has been changed to 6.3 which is the airframe structural limit in all NATOPS publications.
- There are automatically operating ‘fake’ leading edge droops (slats) that simulates the pilot being able to lower them a few degrees with a button on the throttle for cruising flight and manoeuvring flight (aka dog fighting). By ‘fake’ I mean they are not player operated in SF2 or linked to the 3D model but the aerodynamic effect is realistically simulated. You will notice the droop indicator in the cockpit will change with them however. If they were manually controlled in the game the AI would not use them correctly.
- Single AIM-9 missiles and rails can be loaded instead of the Y-racks on all F-8 variants. This is done at the loadout screen (and by the loadout.ini file) it is set up so you cannot load single missiles/ rails and double missiles/ Y-racks at the same time.
- Cannons harmonized as per NATOPS manual and gun accuracy adjusted to real world levels.
- Adjustment to most decal positions and inclusion of Squadron codes on the wings.
- Additional details added to most stock skins.
- Additional squadron specific higher resolution skins with more accurate markings for that particular squadron.
- Included for F-8J (69) is a proposed SEA camo overpaint for the VF-211 aircraft on detachment at Udorn in early 1972 to school USAF pilots in Dogfighting. The repaint was initially agreed to but it would have added 1200lbs so it was abandoned. If you wish to use it and fly DACT against USAF Phantoms you can load the extra 1200lb at the load out screen via a unique station specific hard point.
- Overhaul of each data.ini and avionics.ini to bring them in line with the information in the F-8 NATOPS manuals, NATOPS supplements and F-8 Tactics manual.
- More detailed pilots and ejection seats.
- Fully compatible with ‘SF2V Air & Ground War Expansion v.2.0 Gold’ or Third Wire SF2V campaigns.
- Additional year specific aircraft to better reflect physical and avionic changes. As well as correcting a few mistakes and omissions by Third Wire.
- Below is the updated list of F-8 Crusader variants with the original Third Wire description where appropriate and the specific major changes made in addition to the general ones listed above:
F-8C
The F-8C (F8U-2) entered service in 1959. F-8C is powered by J57-P-16 afterburning turbojet and can reach speed of Mach 1.6.
- Missing radar symbology added and radar performance/ parameters corrected. The radar cursor for selecting a target is a long horizontal line that moves up from the bottom of the scope and is only adjustable in range and not azimuth to select a specific radar contact.
F-8C (66)
In 1966, F-8C received ALQ-51 ECM and chaff dispensers under project "SHOEHORN", after A-4 and F-4 were upgraded. The cannon ammo capacity is reduced slightly to make room for the ECM black box.
- Uses the TW F-8D model modified into a F-8C in order for it to have the Y-rack Fuselage weapon rails.
F-8D
The F-8D (F8U-2N) was the all-weather interceptor version, entering service in 1960. It is equipped with AN/APQ-83 radar and more powerful J57-P-20 engine.
- Missing radar symbology added including steering circle, aiming dot, break X and missile max range.
F-8D (66)
F-8D also received ALQ-51 ECM and chaff dispensers under project "SHOEHORN" in 1966. The cannon ammo capacity is reduced slightly to make room for the ECM black box.
F-8E
The F-8E (F8U-2NE), entering service in 1962, was the final production version of the Crusader. It is equipped with better AN/APQ-94 radar, and two underwing pylons for air-to-ground ordnance.
- Radar frame lock, range and shoot cue lights all completely changed and now function correctly. See screenshot for more information.
- Missing radar symbology added including range rate circle, which also doubles as the steering circle, aiming dot, break X and missile max range.
- Missile firing order and cockpit weapon station section dial corrected.
F-8E (66)
F-8E also received ALQ-51 ECM and chaff dispensers under project "SHOEHORN" in 1966. The cannon ammo capacity is reduced slightly to make room for the ECM black box.
- Significant use of the AIM-9C as after a lot of research it turns out they were commonly carried over Vietnam in this period, notably by VF-211.
F-8E(FN)
The F-8E(FN) is the French Aeronautique Navale version of the F-8 armed with Matra R.530 missiles. Nicknamed "Le Crouze" by the French crew, it operated off Clemenceau-class carriers from 1964 to 1994 until they were upgraded to F-8P standard. F-8E(FN) introduced many of the features, such as double-hinged leading edge flaps and drooping ailerons, that were later incorporated into remanufactured F-8J for the US Navy.
- Equipped with the nose mounted IRST system like the USN F-8D and E.
- This is the TW F-8J model modified into a F-8E(FN) so the DLC is NOT required.
- Radar frame lock, range and shoot cue lights all completely changed and now function correctly. See screenshot for more information.
- Location of Matra R.530 missile rails corrected.
F-8E(FN) (70)
- The nose mounted IRST system is removed from all French aircraft.
F-8P(FN)
- 17 F-8E(FN) are upgraded to extend their service life, included is the Sherloc RWR system.
- This is the TW F-8J model modified into a F-8P(FN) so the DLC is NOT required.
F-8P(FN) (94)
- F-8P(FN) are fitted with a GPS navigation system and antenna.
F-8H
Starting in 1967, F-8Ds were remanufactured as F-8H, with improved AN/APQ-149 radar, ALQ-51 ECM, and the same underwing pylons as F-8E.
- Retains the AN/APQ-83 radar from the F-8D but uses the physically larger and higher resolution cockpit radar display from the F-8E.
- Missing radar symbology added including steering circle, aiming dot, break X and missile max range.
- Radar frame lock, range and shoot cue lights all completely changed and now function correctly. See attached for more information.
- Missile firing order and cockpit weapon station section dial corrected.
F-8H (69)
F-8H is re-engined in 1969 with more powerful J57-P-420 engine. It also has improved ALQ-100 ECM in a larger pod, and full cannon ammo capacity restored.
- Improved AN/APQ-149 radar fitted in place of the AN/APQ-83.
- Additional missing radar symbology added including separate larger range rate circle and separate smaller steering circle.
- A lot of fleet F-8H around this period have had their Nose IRST system (temporarily?) removed.
- Retains the ALQ-51 ECM.
F-8H (74)
- After the Vietnam war F-8H has the improved ALQ-100 ECM in a larger pod installed, and full cannon ammo capacity restored.
F-8J
F-8J is a remanufactured F-8E with improved AN/APQ-149 radar, ALQ-51 ECM, and other improvements such as double-hinged leading edge flaps and drooping ailerons. However, its performance has suffered significantly due to increases in its weight.
- Improved AN/APQ-124 radar installed.
- Radar frame lock, range and shoot cue lights all completely changed and now function correctly. See screenshot for more information.
- Missing radar symbology added including separate larger range rate circle, separate smaller steering circle, aiming dot, break X and missile max range.
- Missile firing order and cockpit weapon station section dial corrected.
F-8J (69)
To restore lost performance due to increased weight, F-8J is re-engined in 1969 with more powerful J57-P-420 engine. It also has improved ALQ-100 ECM in a larger pod, and full cannon ammo capacity restored.
F-8J (75)
- In 1975 the remaining fleet F-8J (along with the RF-8G) receive the ALQ-126 ECM and ALR-45/50 RHAW RWR. The nose mounted IRST system is permanently removed.
F-8J (75) [w RWR]
- Identical to F-8J (75) above except:
- The cockpit radar display functions as a Vector RWR and not a radar. This is because in real life the pilot could change the radar scope from displaying radar images or displaying the RWR images. The F-8J did not have a separate RWR display. There was a setting in which it would be displaying radar images but if a missile launch was detected the threat bearing line would be displayed flashing over top of the radar images. Not possible in SF2 unfortunately.
To install:
1, Unpack and drop into your main mods folder.
2, Override when prompted.

Known Issues
-This is meant as eye candy. unfortunately, SF2 doesnt support air to air refueling so the best to be done is set up a recon mission and then park it in an orbit.
- Also, the C-130 cockpit is not too accurate. it is included mainly so that it can be player selected (i had to test it somehow). remember that there is no air to air refueling in game, so these are more eye candy than operational birds
- dont manuever aggressively. aggressive manuvering will cause a deep stall. its a huge pain to recover from as a player (firewall the throttle, set flaps to landing, yank stick back and hold). any AI wingmen wont make it trying to follow you
