Dels Posted January 25 Posted January 25 G'Day all, My next project is a production version of the F-32 and I am building all three versions A(CTOL)/B(STOVL)/C(CV). I never liked the massive chin intake of the prototype, so I have changed that. I also preferred the original delta wing design to the conventional wing/tail configuration of the proposed production model. It's currently in its early stages, but I'll post progressive updates here. In the meantime, enjoy these screenshots from 3dsmax. Dels 19
Menrva Posted January 25 Posted January 25 It'd be cool to also have the prototype X-32 seen in the Joint Strike Fighter flight sim game, I think that one had a big chin intake which certainly sucks. In general I have soft spot for the prototypes like the X-32, X-35 and YF-22. These F-32s will be a great addition to the sim, looking forward to them! 3
Gunrunner Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Very nice choice, looks a lot like early artistic impressions of it rather than what it turned into.
daddyairplanes Posted January 26 Posted January 26 more of those impressions were what it was supposed to be, but the changes came along to late for the fly offs i also think the STOVL version would still have had the big intake. happy plane would have killed you. happily 3
Dels Posted March 9 Author Posted March 9 G'Day all, A quick update, the model is complete and texture mapped with animations. Working through the skinning now and will hopefully have some in game shots soon. Dels 16 1
Flanker562 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I mean it looks pretty cool (this iteration at least) and never thought the A-7 was ugly. It has nice lines for a ground attack plane. I never liked the F-8 though, I think it looks stupid. 2
SgtSaunders Posted March 10 Posted March 10 (edited) The F-32 model looks incredible, excellent design. I hope I can fly it soon when you finish it. It's a bit ugly , but it's a good example of what happened with the LTV A-7 Corsair II. Many pilots who refused to fly it nicknamed it "SLUF" (Short Little Ugly Fella). And it really was a formidable jet; the LTV A-7 Corsair II earned the performance and respect of every pilot who flew it in combat. Edited March 10 by SgtSaunders
Dels Posted April 12 Author Posted April 12 G'Day all, Another quick update. Skinning has been taking a little longer than expected but it's nearly done. Time to get it in the game. Dels 19 3
Dels Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 G'Day all, some more game shots. This week I've been working on the bump and spec maps, plus the decals (4FS USAF and 77SQN RAAF) pictured below. Dels 16

Flanker562 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 It's actually pretty neat you have the AIM-120s and how their mounted on the pylons. 2 1

Wrench Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I really like the wing shape on the 32 over the 35's "I'm a smaller f-22" look It's just that intake!!!! Like those mythical sea creatues (Gran Maj, or whatever it's called ...) But the model does look GREAT!!! 2 1
Flanker562 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Yeah the intake on the prototype turned me off to that contender though. But the F-35 does look better, but this "production" version looks better anyway. 2 1
F5TigerIIGuy Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Definitely shouldn’t be priority, but using EXINT pods to make her into a search and rescue, special forces insertion craft, or captured HVT transport bird would be pretty funny. I mention this because I immediately thought of this mod when I stumbled across this art of an EXINT F-32 1 3
dtmdragon Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Awsome! I also remember playing the JSF PC game flying the XF-32 and even making a plastic model of it as a kid and hoping it was going to be selected as the winner! 2
Dels Posted May 23 Author Posted May 23 G'Day all, Just a quick update. The F-32 will come with a new weapon, the AGM-187A JAGM-F. It can be loaded on the BRU-61 and is drop launched. Dels 10 1
Dels Posted Saturday at 02:19 AM Author Posted Saturday at 02:19 AM G'Day everyone, I decided to do a destroyed model too. Dels 7 1
Dels Posted Saturday at 02:36 AM Author Posted Saturday at 02:36 AM ...also, using the F-35 cockpit but with some modified textures and a new HUD. Dels 3
Wrench Posted Saturday at 05:31 AM Posted Saturday at 05:31 AM thank you for making a destroyed model -- that's something most modelers totally forget about!! 1
